I just attended a lecture at Lehigh University by the Dalai Lama. I am a bit surprised by all the negative comments about the man. He is in a difficult position. As a buddhist, one could expect him to be peaceful and totally submissive. On the other hand, who of you could stand by and not be an activist if your country was taken over and millions killed and suppressed? I think his middle way suggestion of some autonomy is a decent attempt, but makes both sides not happy.

If Jimmy carter (like kennedy, ford, reagan, nixon...) never met Dalai lama when he was president and still won the peace nobel award.
