  • sadly they don't make movies like this anymore! Children are truly robbed of great movies of the past!

  • sadly they don't make movies like this anymore!

  • @GgigglesShorty im glad they dont it was boring to watch and now that see it again still boring and offensive with nudity and being locked in with out help in a museum these kids would be in reality frightened and cryin

  • guard looks like stalin

  • "Saving dragon's from a princess or the other way around?" Even after all these years, that line has stuck with me, haha.

  • @YuniX2 Well, if I were a princess that just got captured by a dragon, I'd probably want to kill it. =D

  • @piguy314159 Me 2

  • My mom and i always thought Big bird and snuffalumagus were gay! lol.

  • old school Sesame Street; Miss some of these guys!

  • Where's Elmo??? I miss watching this!

  • @Radcliffe131324 At the time when this was made, Elmo was a minor character. He didn't become popular until "Elmo's Word" came out on Sesame Street.

  • "Perhaps this large, shiney gentleman has seen Big Bird." xDDD

  • i remember watching this when i was little.

  • My son loves this special and when we went to the Met he kept acting out scenes

  • WHY IN THE WORLD IS THIS NOT AVAILABLE ON DVD. Ugh. Sold on the Met website as VHS only. Is there some kind of copyright issue? So much better than the hack Sesame Street movies that are sold on DVD now. This movie is absolutely gold.

  • @feelthejoy I agree. Respect the classics movie makers!!!

  • grover rules!

  • "please don't eat the pictures" "this is going to be a long night"

    lol

  • Maria's breaking the 4th wall

  • I love bob and cookie monster

  • What is Grover saying at 4:55?

  • I believe he's saying "come on, withcha", like "come on, you're kidding me."

  • Oh. Thank you for letting me know =)

  • @MFruitProductionsLTD Go on with ya.

  • I love Grover!

  • Sesame Street always taught children from my generation about cultures of the world such as Japan and ancient Egypt, as in this special. Today, Sponge Bob Square Pants and his tard friend are the most memorable images this generation has. Is it any wonder why ignorance is only percolating?

  • so true, even sesame street these days is pure mush

  • I kind of agree with you, I think their content should go back to their older style and they should definitely have a change in guest stars, other than that as long as they're teaching children i'm happy

  • Completely agree with you. Sadly I admit I still love sesame street...and I'm 22. I tried getting my cousin's kid who's 5 to watch sesame street...it didn't go well he screamed for ed edd and eddie...so depressing. And not only ignorance is increasing but vulgarity is being taught through those cartoons

  • i'm 20 and i still love sesame street!! welcome to the club!

  • "Please don't eat the pictures."

That's a sign you don't see in an art museum everyday.

  • why did cookie monster want to eat everything

  • That was the essence of his character.

Cookie Monster's chief interest was food.

The Count's main obsession was numbers.

Grover's life was in finding over-complicated solutions to minor problems.

Ernie's and Big Bird spent their time wondering why things are the way they are, and often come to the wrong conclusions (to the chagrin of Bert, Bob, and Maria.

Oscar was only happy when things were lousy.

The characters represent different interests of childhood.

  • Wow, Bob must be strong. I mean, Cookie is a MONSTER, after all.

  • HAHAHAHAHA.

  • The met is already a magical place...these guys made it even better

  • Next to The Mixed Of Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankwiler, this is the best medium through which to fall in love with the Met.

  • Bob: NO NO NO! YOU CAN'T TOUCH THE PICTURE!

Cookie Monster: ME NO WANT TO TOUCH! ME WANT TO EAT PICTURE!

Cookie Monster: *Reading sign* Please don't eat the pictures ... Ohhhhhh, this going to be long night...

  • @cutseypoo777 Poor Cookie

  • @cutseypoo777 Poor Bob

  • @cutseypoo777 Poor Cookie

  • I love the high pitch "NO!!!" Bob yells at Cookie...lol

  • I love Bob's attempts to restrain Cookie, and how worked up he gets !

  • "its a Saizan"

    "Say What?"

    lol that always gets me.

  • "Cézanne--Paul Cézanne."

"Oh... look like picture to me."

    double lol.

  • new yookcers

  • This was and still kind of is my fave vhs vid while I was growing up.

  • Now what were the chances that that 'Don't Eat the Pictures' sign would be there? Could the museum have anticipated that Cookie Monster would be coming?

  • @Garrettk41 IDK

  • @Garrettk41 IDK

  • this is just awesome this is here. i used to love this vhs and not just because it was green!

  • ME EAT PICTURES!

  • "Let me just eat frame!" XD

"Max must be shy. I, Grover, will put him at his ease."

    Grover is ADORABLE.

And Sahu calls Big Bird "Ibis!" That is the cutest EVER!

  • Outstanding stuff! I love this!

  • "Perhaps this large, shiny man has seen him."

I laughed so hard I nearly died.

  • I love how Grover uses big words for little kids like "perchance" and "ease"....super cute.

  • I love how Bob needs to talk Cookie down at one point. "Gimme the painting, maaaaan.."

  • My sister was on an episode of Sesame Street with Grover like 17 years ago. Mom worked for the president of CTW so we were all up in that place! It pretty much rocked.

  • I love Bob's "NO!"

  • Super Grover Rules!

    and he's cute too!
