  • what if they gave him the mind of Ron Jeremy or Oliver Reed ???

  • R.I.P head phone users

  • groovy music....

  • oh

  • I was in a punk club in Portsmouth in the 80s and suddenly this started playing and the ENTIRE room started pogo-ing to it. It quite freaked me out.

  • 2:16 World Intelligence Network? W.I.N!

  • I want to see a remake! (Maybe a 90 years old Joe, out of retirement for one final great mission!? :D. He's slightly senile and schizophrenic with tourettes syndrome because of all the mind implants over the years, but still a force to be reckoned with in his motorised wheelchair (like professor X) and cybernetic implants (like iron man). (His Dad is now an AI that Joe is working on). Possible acting talent: Patrick Stewart, Ben Kingsley? Someone like that? XD. OK, I need to get a life.

  • ¡Cómo me gustaba esta música!

    Qué lindos recuerdos...

    ¡Gracias por compartir!

  • As a lad I would marvel at the 60's tech in this show, but it is only now I can appreciate the totally hip theme. You Dig baby ? Also the wearing of glasses is suppose to add to one's intelligence (as Joe90 found of course) hence this is why some fellows like babes in shades. Personally I like to hear what comes out of a bespectacled woman's mouth before I pass judgment on her intelligence.

  • i am 14 and even i thinkits good :)

  • I was dancing to this when I was 2 years old and now I'm an adult I still love it

  • Being serious for a second, I do love how this series' relative realism contrasts with the total fantasy of the earlier Anderson SF shows - it's actually quite gritty and grounded for a kid's adventure show.

  • Back to our childhood .....

  • Strange.......Joe 90 has a resemblance to the character Major Von Hapin from Where Eagles Dare.

  • @BuddyFantastic I always thought the Major was an Anderson puppet, myself; that bone structure, fuzzy haircut, weirdly waxen complexion and leather lip... did he also hold his pistol in an awkward 'fire from the hip' posture as well? methinks he might, y'know...

  • These shows, Joe90, The Thunderbirds, UFO are super cool shows. These people had talent not computers to do it for them. I bought these shows on DVD and play them all the time. I say if you want cool, this is it!

  • No repeats due to alleged child abuse i reckon... shame - Someone BIG RATted on Mr Maclaine (sorry i couldn't resist that one) Did anyone tell the do gooders its not real ? maybe it has something to strobing light effects and epileptic fits. Anyway Joe only did it because he was their "most special agent". Probably didn't want to let the side down - poor kid ! Rumour has it he is still in therapy suffering with an identity crisis and multiple personality disorders !

  • HAHA great fun put a specky kid in a massive egg whisk .

  • I really really wanted his briefcase, now I'm 48 years old, I might just have a look on ebay and get one!

  • absolute tuuuuune

  • can anyone remember an episode where joe escapes out of a bedroom window its been bugging me for years

  • Joe 90 is alive and well and working as a financial advisor in Colchester!

  • Love it! Great song from the good days

  • I know King Fu!

  • The intro looks like a device which allows small children to trip-out without the use of chemicals!!

  • Brill. Can you imagine any brother/sister, father/son, husband/wife writing or production team being listed as Phil and Bob Lastname or or Mary and Eric Lastname now? Egos are way too large for that. Next time you go to the movies, look at the titles. They always list themselves separately dueto their monster egos.

That big computer would now be a $2.99 app on your i-phone.

It was called Joe 90 becasue Joe's real personality was that of a curmudgeonly 90 year old man, akin to Steptoe...

  • The machine was called the 'big rat' in honour of a donner kebab he ate in West Ealing after guzzling down 24 pints of Double Diamond lager.

  • Joe 90 was the first Matrix.

  • Moulin rouge

  • These days the Social Services would never allow Joe to go on missions unsupervised.

  • As a kid I was scared of the thing that Joe sat in and that noise in the background!

  • @vntr2006 Haha! Me too! I used to get nervous seeing all the equipment at the back come forward, and yeah, I found the noise scary, but I sooooo wanted to be him!!

  • Esta serie se emitio en el peru a mediados del 1976 aprox. muy buena y de gran recuerdo para los que ya estamos en por los 40.

    Que tiempos aquellos.

  • It is incredible how similar the computer sounds at the beginning are to the Dial-Up sounds

  • thunderbirds, joe 90, stingray and capiin scarlet they all great

  • Yip ,, Joe 90 ,

  • One of my all time favourite themes of the glorious sixties!! Just feel those cosmic sounds!! (I also love the end title). This comes from the very first episode. In the autumn of 1968 this series came to my country. How inventive these Supermarionation productions were!! Is it any wonder they never date?

  • @irishrogue61

I second that. BEST EVER. No TV show beats this cool themesong. SOmething about the bass and rythym guitar in the theme is just uber cool.

  • Joe made, after he retired, the production of the Triology of the Matrice

  • Child abuse or what! LOL Thanks for posting!

  • Barry Grey, like Ron Goodwin should have ben knigthed for their services to British entertainment! As should Gerry!

  • man this theme is up there with the space1999 one

  • Barry Gray composed fantastic, memorable music for Joe90/UFO/Space1999/Thunderbirds etc. A truly amazing talent. I am a great fan of all Gerry Anderson's shows, and it is Barry Gray's music which drives each one.

He has ensured that Gerry's productions will live forever.

  • Superb. For my money the end titles of Joe 90 are the best thing Barry Gray did for Anderson. Heaven. I'm seven again.

  • Kid's now days are cheated . they have to settle for Dick and Dom. we had Joe 90 and captain scarlet.

  • Thats me !!!!!!!!!!

  • as the yanks say, totally awesome

  • Montauk Chair!!!

  • ....I used to be a "Most Special Agent" when I was a kid lol

I can still watch these programmes.....

  • excellente video

  • i wept my youth

  • Comment removed

  • I used to want that suitcase

  • This was my favourite show....I haven't heard this tune in 36 years

  • A kid with a computer in his head. What could possibly go wrong? Whoa look at those colors dude.....

  • Maaaan thats the first super computer that works on LSD

  • So Joe 90 gets super smart by climbing inside a giant chocolate orange?

  • 578.E MEANS he who abides in deep

IT THE NUMBER WRITEN ON THE MACHINE WHERE THE TAPE SCROLLS SPOOKY AH THE OCCULT IS USED IN ALL THIS STUFF

  • jOB WELL DONE JOE THESE DAYS ITS SO MUCH EASIER WITH FLUORIDE IN THE WATER AND PRESCRIPTION DRUGS MAKING IT EASIER TO MAINTAIN CONTROL WITH OUR NEWLY DEVELOPED MASS MONITORING KNOW AS YOUTUBE AND FACE BOOK ..ALONG WITH GLOBAL EMAIL AND TELECOMMUNICATION MONITORING THANKS TO THE WAR ON TERROR .THANKS TO YOU JOE AND OTHER MIND NUMBING INSPIRATIONS LIKE YOURSELF WE ARE READY NOW TO COMPLETE OUR PLAN OF ONE WORLD DOMINATION AFTER 2ND FINANCIAL CRASH IN APRIL 2010 WELL DONE JOE,

  • Joe 90 - I was that boy; and now I'm 42 and the Prime Minister of England!

  • Such an irresponsible father.

  • Four-eyed smart-alec twat! He'd have been well bullied if he'd gone to my school in south east London in the 70's.

  • LOL, maybe for the first day, then he'd come in with Bruce Lee's mind and kick ass :D

  • that kids a fagot lol but i still liked that show

  • I buy this on DVD tomorrow. I'm looking forward to it, too. Not seen it in years!

  • you can get it online its hard to find but its out there

  • Except for Four Feather Falls... I got em all...

    Even Supercar

  • Wonder when Disney are going to Wreck this brilliant program the bought a few years back

  • 1.Joe 90 Best Theme,[but I was hated the little t~~t,cos were the same age.2,Captain Scarlet [my favorite series & 60's groovy theme,]THUNDERBIRDS-Really the best all round.

  • the andersons were adults who held onto their childhood imaginations, and they inspired the imaginations of children (now adults).who wants to grow up anyway?

  • can you see it nowadays?..stop press!!.''shock , horror.!!c.i.a operative dad electronically mind controls 11 yr old son into carrying out assassinations for the secret services''

  • Lol that just reminded me that I had the brief case toy set. OMG so forgot about that. wish I still had it.

  • I consider "Joe 90" the turning point for the Supermarionation productions. The lenses were changed and the use of the under-control made the puppets look tiny and stiff. Space 1999 / UFO realized a return to Greatness with the impressive model work.

  • president of argentina CFK is joe 90 and he put on cassette about everything

  • Ouch. There goes my ear

  • Hey, nice stereo this Joe 90 has!

  • Did you see the size of the speakers! LOL

  • Damn I love this....de dee do dee dooo do.

  • I think the orb literally gave me a flashback....

  • make joe 90 the movie ,would be cool....

  • I think you r right. That would b awesome.

  • dam right that would be so freegin awesome im a big fan i think technology has come along way lmfao since the 60s hehe

  • I really like this version of the joe 90 theme i don't like the other one that much.

  • "Most Special Agent"!! love it!

  • I also was 9 when I watched this for the first time. Had blonde hair and looked like Joe too. How cool was that!! :D

  • brilliantly 60's hi tech!!!

  • Brilliant theme tune

    so 60's

  • I see he has an automatic gun in his school briefcase. So that was a pretty good prediction wasn't it?

  • Yeah but the gun looked cooler than anything we have now and only shot bad guys.

  • Apparently i used to dance in front of the tv to this when i was 3, 38 years ago still doing it now. Love it.

  • show us then

  • dancing for 38 years? you must be knackered lol

  • I hear gerry anderson is an expert at these puppet series things.

  • que capo este muchacho

  • Now you know where Joss Whedon got his idea for Dollhouse from :)

  • Joe 90 was taken off the air because Social Workers got involved and took Joe away. Something to do with his human rights and sitting in the pod - wasn't good for the child.

  • Cah! It's Political Correctness gone mad!

  • Nice one Steve........lol

  • Actually, Joe is still alive and living in Sussex. His Grandson has taken over from him now. All that high tec equipment has been up graded by Microsoft and would now fit on a desk top. Danny 120, that's his name, still has to go into the pod though. Instead of tape they use USB sticks. Oh, the glasses have gone. It's all done now with a peircing.

  • reminds me of the doors style music

  • Trouble is, this is all seems so plausable.

  • Barry grey. he did a lot of themes around this time.

  • was he on something at the time because it's great but very LSD induced pictures.

  • who played the theme tune to this.

  • Dont forget UFO...

Joe 90 and ufo were the best themes.

I do like all of them but them two are my favorites.

  • @swbono i think your forgetting fireball xl5 mate that is still a tune although both yours are great.

  • The one thing all these had in common, was a great theme tune!

    Captain Scarlet, Thunderbirds...superb!

  • It wasnt real you know.....lol

I agree today it wouldnt be acceptable as its not " pc ".But it was then ... pugwash..you seen that.lol

    love thy neighbour...... classic's

But they dont get repeated , i wonder why.

  • I get to 50 and someone tells me joe90 is not real.bet its a govement cover up

  • @swbono

Why do people like you over-blow political correctness. This would be acceptable now as much as it was back then heck we had a series last year called spy-high (which albeit shit was about kids being super spys and thwarting villains).

Also love thy neighbour has been repeated numerous times.

  • A bad example of child abuse. You just can't have parents experimenting on their kids like this.

  • The most amazing thing about Supermarionation pictures is the crew. A dozen people made this... Lucas would have 30 people fetching coffee-

  • The machine is known as the BIG RAT - Brain impulse galvanascope, record and transfer. What a sad old bark I am to remember that. What great memories of my childhood. And yes, I too had the spy suitcase. So that makes 3 super spies. LOL

  • yeah.. I've seen a movie version of this back in the late 80s.. what I wouldnt give ot have this on DVD in the States..

  • Unforgetable....

  • All that comp stuff at the start!

That's how they know if you have or not been to the post office and bought your television licence ???

  • i was fortunate to have the joe90 suitcase that was made by mattel i do believe

and i used to think i was the only superspy on the planet!

oh the joy of child hood memories!!

  • Does anyone else think that the look of Joe 90's dad was based on Michael Redgrave in The Dam Busters?

  • Great tune that now reminds me of Austin Powers. Sometimes though, Joe 90 reminded me of the Milky Bar kid. End of useless comment.

  • omg the memories

  • What a trip!

  • Yeah. I haven't heard that theme in years. Still good.

  • The best TV theme of all time, no question, And a Northern Soul classic (although this version is better)

  • Why is this the only Gerry Anderson series not repeated...its classic...

  • A ginger kid with specs. Whats not to like? Nice theme, awful concept for a show.

  • Not PC. Kid put in harm's way with a gun in his briefcase after all that wierd stuff done to his brain. Shame really I absolutely loved it at the time.

  • My favourite show of all time, with Captain Scarlett a close second.

  • SHEER CLASS!

  • Great programmes, excellent production values, great music. They just can't make them like this anymore. Reminds me of vinyl sofas, big flowery wallpaper and an Austin Maxi's.

  • GOD' to be a kid again ,we had some great shows back then

  • The music reminds me of northern soul.

  • Excellent sound and video quality mate! Puts most of You Tube to shame. 5 stars also.

  • Why Thank you .. .. :)

  • Original. None of that vapid 80's re-mix mash up. Cheers my dear. 5 stars

  • Striking tv series!

  • Check out the iPod protoype at 3:11

  • Probably Gerry Anderson's most original series. Imagine, a 8 years-old boy working as a secret agent for an international organization !

  • I remember Joe 90, Captain Scarlet & Thunderbirds were all repeated on BBC2 during the mid-90's. This let me see these programmes, which were on when my dad was the same age during the sixties as I was during the nineties.

  • It's only a TV show!!

  • I was replying to a very bad comment, which has now gone. Love this xxx

  • the music is real trippy when doing some lsd

  • What was the super nintendo game that used this theme tune in it as part of it's soundtrack? Can't remember...

  • I've just dropped acid & I am sat in my parents house circa 1975 watching telly!!!!

  • Superb, I used to love this and I bet in a fight Joe 90 could kick thunderbirds arse cos he had so many gadgets...my hero!

  • your so right, but gerry and sylvia anderson did so many puppet shows,-thunderbirds, space 1999(real people),joe 90 and Captain Scarlet ect it made bill and ben, hectors house and the flumps look like crap, but you have to be a 60's child to appreciate it, i really looked forward to saturdays in the 70's on school summer hollidays to appreciate the replays man??????

  • i don't think you have to be a 60s child i LOVED thunder birds, joe 90, captain scarlet when i was little and that was the 90s. Jerry Andersons birthday is on my birthday!

  • Fancy a wiggle anyone? (LOL)

  • Should it not be a little bop. (ha ha ha) great tune

  • I always liked the music over the closing titles as well... catchy as feck.

  • Check out the iPod upside-down right next to the firearm.

Apple . . . not so advanced after all

  • I used to watch this as a child.. awesome memories.. cheers for this.

  • 9 year old kid with a gun and hees brainwashed to boot! shocking no wonder they canned it....having said that if they could just get the transferable brain pattern thing to actually work it would suit me

  • Some mad scientist uses his own son as a human guinea pig, subjecting him to psychometric programming, then sends him out 'in the field' to do dangerous undercover work!

    Wouldn't be allowed today!

  • reloda - Wouldn't be allowed today???

Kids are doing much worse...killing people! We had these great shows and it inspired...kids today have reality shows and their brains go to the dog house.

    Kids today...should be mentally re-erased and 'brained'-up.

    lol!

  • Oh to be 12 again!

  • Not entirely sure, but I think this was from 1968.

    Great stuff!

  • The Prisoners did a great version of this

  • This would go down a storm if some indie band played this at Glastonbury.

This is as trippy as music gets!

    LEGENDARY MASTERPIECE!!!

    I LOVE IT!

  • That would be so good.......

i will leave it to you to arraigned it....

  • It exists - I just heard it on youtube - 1989 version 12 inch

  • Joe 90 = ledgend

  • I wonder i social services knows this kid is subjected to being put in a cage that spins like that and carries fire arms lol

  • lol.... and gets brain washed daily.

  • Oh come on. If a man can't experiment on his adopted nine-year-old boy by putting him in a cage and loaning him out to an 'uncle', what is this world coming to?

    It's political correctness gone mad!

  • ha ha ha the thing we got away with in the olden days.

  • I remmember this!! Brilliant, but Thunderbirds and Capt. Scarlet was natturally much better.

  • Hi Yes Capt Scarlet and Stingray ......lol

  • Huh? Sorry but I am confused... What did you mean? Sprechen sie Englisch, bitte. Yeah, forget I sais that. I will just imagine that you enjoy Captain Scarlet and so on aswell. Except I hate Stingray! Sorry...

  • I mean . Yes Capt scarlet & thunderbirds was good also .I also liked stingray and others.

cant remember joe 90 that much .like the music though.

my favorite was UFO (although no puppets).

    Steve

  • Oh. I see, sorry for being so abrupt and rude.

Yes I liked most of Jerry Andersons work. Never remmembered UFO. Have you heard of Lavander Castle?

  • Did Jerry Anderson work for the mind control

    boys at Montauk point?

see books by Preston Nickols/ peter moon on

this subject of mind control at montauk.

  • No whats that ?.

I have a UFO video on here take a look and see if it jogs your memmory.

    steve

  • Ah well, Lavander castle was this really unusual puppet show, a bit like the style from the film about Terry Prattchetts "Truckers". Anyway, it was by Jerry Anderson and his son which is why you might not have heard of it. It was a mix between Batlestar Galactica and We all Live In A Yellow Submarine.

  • I just dig the music....I want this theme song to be played at my funeral....

  • Hi,At your Funeral....lol

    Cool Music i agree.

    very retro.

  • yeah...mite as well go as with some pizazz...very cool videa....the best Joe 90 I've seen....ever heard of UFO?

  • How they got the look that they did with just puppets and modals was amazing.
