  • Just got mine and it seem to have a deadline of touch across the screen. WTF -.-

  • I LOVE my samsung focus and I havent had any problems whatsoever...

  • Mine has neither the touch screen problem nor the issue involving the screen staying black when you take it away from your face

  • my touchscreen points also get all messy when i connect it to speakers

  • yes but it's an issue when there's blogs all over the net about this phone I understand the censor thing my iphone 4s works fine when I put it to my face it's black when I pull it away to look at the screen the sensor turns the screen back on this phone however has a massive amount of defective ones that just stay black period as soon as you hit the call button the screen dont come back on period until the call is hung up and that's the problem u cant hang up with a black screen

  • this phone also has an issue when you make calls the screen goes black and stays black until the calls is over

  • @liandriunreal It is not a issue, there is a sensor on the phone, so when you call someone and then approching the phone near your face, the screen goes black, like that you will not touch random boutons with your face when you call

  • @liandriunreal its cause it locks if u r doing something on the phone it stays if its in lock and some1 calls it locks after a couple of second just hit the lock/unlock button

  • my crappy samsung has this problem, most annoying glitch to exist

  • I have this phone...and mine DOES NOT do this. Maybe a flaw in certain devices?

  • mine works fine on couch, bed, chair, lap, etc

  • wow.. its cause the sofa absorbes the push of your finger unlike a hard surface does.. kinda obvious

  • haha wierd

  • mine is okay what build is that

  • am i being punked?

  • Maybe gremlins are inside of your couch

  • static electricity on your couch?

  • Fixed mine. I just saw this video and I had the same problem even on my desk. So I decided to go to samsung register the phone to make sure I get warranty for this. As I register the phone the website asked for the serial behind the battery of the phone. I will tell exactly what I did: I first shut off the phone, I took the lid off and the battery. I had it sitting on my desk without the batter for about 8 minutes. I placed the batter back on and the lid. I turned on and let boot up on SAME DESK

  • I tested my Focus and iPhone and every soft surface in my house and saw no difference. It's either a problem with some phones or perhaps something about the material you tested on. Try the same test on your couch with another capacitive phone

  • haunted couch.

  • My Focus' screen glitched just like that too. It did it in my hand though, too. Got it replaced within the 30 days. We'll see if the new starts acting up.

  • I want 1:21 of my life back please!

  • Well, that's what you get for wanting to use the phone on a couch... Put it on the table... who the heck uses it's phone directly from the sofa...

  • I have the exact same problem. It seems to happen on many surfaces I set the phone on. In my hand it always works fine. Is the Focus the only Win7 phone with this problem? Maybe I should return it. :|

  • I noticed this problem on my Focus a few weeks ago. Very annoying. I'm pretty sure it's a hardware problem. There is something wrong with what is being grounded to the phone. Don't think there's any solution to this problem :(

  • capacitive screen, it detects static in your finger and uses that as the input, putting it on the couch cushion, which may be filled with static, could cause that to happen

  • That is strange

does this happen with other Windows phone 7 phones

  • this is not a problem..thats why its called a cellphone..its to be used in your palms not on the couch...

  • Comment removed

  • Mine is fine I see no difference hand or otherwise. Hmm

  • I have a Samsung Focus and tested it on many cushioned surfaces and found no problem as shown in your video.

Not sure what would cause that but very weird.

  • Interesting... is it just the Focus? How about the other wp7 handsets?

  • Its probably because the motion sensors are having trouble getting adjusted when not on a flat surface or firm grip.
