Great review dude, and great gun! Looking forward to getting one in the next few months. I personally, prefer the 6" Silver model, but you're getting more bang for your buck with the 8" due to the barrel being longer, meaning more fps!
@TheStrainzz The manual says "Metal." It's definitely not "cheapo" or anything; the metal's cold to the touch and very dense and heavy, having a very solid feel and look. Its definitely not aluminum though, nor is it chrome (the 6" version is I think). It seems like ordinary metal that is painted a dark greyish color with very, VERY subtle speckling that gives it a unique finish. I think if you did some more digging on the web you may find a better answer. Hope this helps! Thanks!
@pelleteri I know. I've had some bad experiences with evike so I went the sure-fire way with Cabela's. Plus getting it shipped to MA, where I live, is illegal :/
@motocrosseur No. Forcing pellets to fire in a strictly steel bb pistol such as this one will damage the gun and void the warranty. Though that would be wicked awesome, I'm afraid you cannot. It has a smooth bore barrel that is specifically designed to shoot metal bb's ONLY. Nowhere on the package or in the manual of the Dan Wesson does it say that it can shoot pellets, so I wouldn't risk trying to 'cuz it could break/harm you. Its great with bb's anyway! Thanks for watching and commenting!
@dooch9 nice thanks for the fast answer. I am really disapointed because I hate steel bb vs the pellet. I was very looking to buy this airgun but do you think I would be able to get it work with pellet removing the actual cannon and take the one on my crosman 357 (the 357 cannon is removable i dont know about the dan wesson?)
@motocrosseur I agree; pellets are more accurate and have more power, but less velocity. This gun is COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, THOUGH!!! It has an 8 inch barrel, so its surprisingly accurate with bb's, and it hits hard (killed a couple of birds, yes, killed, at 20-30 ft.) PPl almost never kill ANYTHING with a bb gun. I wouldn't dare change the barrel 'cuz you won't need to; its strong and accurate enough. Changing the barrel wont do anything and will void all warranties. It is soo heavy and solid
@motocrosseur Get it bro. Its a steal because its so real looking and durable; no plastic. Believe it or not, I hit 505.2 fps on my chrony, and about 502 fps 3 times after I modified it!!! An average of 480fps after mod (The claimed velocity on the packagre is 426 fps) The mod is wicked easy. The link to the vid to modify it is after my review. Im also gunna post those chrony results cuz ppl wont believe me if I just say it lolol. Seeing is believing haha. 10times better than 357. Trust me!
@BambamRandomDay As long as the one you're buying says .177 caliber steel bb's in the description, then yes it will shoot .177 (4.5 mm) metal bb's (I know there is an airsoft version of this gun just like this so be careful to make sure you DONT buy the one that shoots plastic bb's). As far as licensing goes, I would check your state laws on that. Your laws could require a license depending on where you live. Check your laws before you buy it to make sure. Thank for watching and commenting!
@BambamRandomDay You're welcome! But be careful: the 6mm .26g specs are for the AIRSOFT dan wesson. I think you might have to check somewhere else for the .177 caliber (4.5 MM) steel BB pistol. Thanks again.
@BambamRandomDay I ordered it online at cabelas.com (cuz that was the only place that had the right one and was nearby) and had it shipped to the Maine Cabela's Store and picked it up there in like a week. Shipping was free.
