i have 20 collapsed vertebrae with disc protusions at all levels, and DDD. been told due to the amount i think there are much they can do? just pain meds. i use butrans pain patches 20mcg ones which help a bit with the pain. and also use baclofen and the good old amtriptyline which most with back troubles take. i find the mind the biggest challenge!! not working is not easy.
Hey friend... I wish u good healing. Dont think like u cant do it, as much u belive in your healing the more better u heal. There is universe what helps. Atleast i hope... and i belive in it. I wish best for u
how are you doing now? did you ever have a nerve conduction study? Which discs did you injure? most common is L5s1 which is your tail bone basically.I have has 2 discs in my low back and 2 in my neck, mabe I can answer questions, if you are still in need of help.
I feel like I'm 99% recovered, for now.I could get arthritus problems later in life. I'm active, walking to work and hitting the gym from time to time. The weather gives me problems sometimes and controled substance based pain meds are a no no, but life from that accident has, if anything, made me a better person.
@JRHulbret i feel your pain, 7months now, 1st surgery failed, waiting for fusion right now. What a effing ride this is. I wont give up though, glad to see you made it through the dark days...
If at all possible don't ever accept a spinal fusion. According to chinese medicine principles you would be permanently impeding the circulation of energy in your back.
If at ever possible never let anything penetrate your spinal column ever.
My dad's advice,( coming from someone who has had two back surgeries himself, along with 5 herniations) was to hold off on surgery until I can't get out of bed.
I'm so sorry to hear about your accident and your back pain, Shawn has a herniated disc and the pain has been terrible, you are in my prayers, I hope that you win your case and I hope that you are soon pain free!

Thanks again for the video Jane
I didn't even like the idea of a disk epi, where they put a needle in your disk.
Surgery of any kind simply isn't an option.

you are very welcome JR :)
The spinal stretch I demonstrated for you can be found in only one book. That book is Opening the Energy Gates of Your Body by Bruce Frantzis.
He rebuilt his spine after having his spine shattered in a car accident. His story in more detail is in the book.

I apologize for my delay getting back to you :)
I might make a companion video to that one with more detailed moves.
Another therapy you may want to try is Feldenkrais Method. by Moshe Feldenkrais.
Like yourself, I have good days and bad days but these techniques allow me to function mostly, most of the time.
