  • The whole band was good i feel the gust got the short end of the stick.

  • I love the smash cymbal on the word "break" it's shit like that that makes him a musical genius.

  • I like this song because it sounds good.

  • wish they had a love button here also because like just isn't enough to put beside elliott. u love it or you don't get it yet. truthfull songs just make me happy knowing im not alone in this feeling and never really was,.even though the really grasping songs are based on loss and confusion which people call depressing songs it makes me happy hearing songs so similar to my thoughts... idk i'm kinda out of it ,,, XO

  • thats jennifer chiba

  • I like that he's eating in a lot of these pictures.

  • elliot smith makes me cry in such a beatiful way

  • Elliott smith rock'ed'

  • absolutely.

Great photos as well, hadn't seen most of them.

  • This song has been stuck in my head all day...

First listened to it 2 days ago. At first I thought ''meh'', but like ALL OF ELLIOTT'S SONGS... it just stuck on me.

This song gives me the feeling of absolute numb confidence. Numb; because it's such a numbing feeling to realize that even NOTHING counts.

    Sweet nothing... pretty nothing. ahhhhhh

  • Damn this song has such good lyrics

  • i love this song - i don't know why he never played it in his shows, probably because he hated heatmiser, even though this is just his song with them as backing band. where did u get these photos?

  • @javsav

he hated heatmiser? didn't know that.

    do you know why?

  • @charleysaysrawr He didn't like the style of music at all - because before this album it was all grunge rock - this album was different, on this one he and neil gust (his friend)took over. As you can see this is purely an elliott song. You should download the album mic sity sons by heatmiser if you don't have it. there's some good elliott songs on there and some dodgy neil ones (the other lead singer who was elliott's friend, basically they sing the songs they wrote) one or two of neil's are ok

  • @javsav

Well I knew most of that, I'm a huge Elliott Smith , Heatmiser AND Neil Gust fan, but I just didn't know he didn't like Heatmiser's music, but I guess that makes sense.

  • @javsav yea like rest my head against the wall. great neil gust song

  • all these pictures put a smile on my face, i wish i could of been able to meet this amazing person

  • and elliott was very cryptic

  • i fit the perfect picture that you want for all

  • "she got ice she don't want anyone to break." <3 genus.

  • What is this song about?

  • such an amazing songgg ahhhh

  • this isn't the best heatmiser song. its amazing, but Pop In G or Cruel Reminder are much more deserving of best song.

  • totally awesome slide show, with an awesome song!!!

  • ah, you're right, zw. I just assumed as tony has done some killer producing (actually made the Dandy's sound great) over the years. love that polaroid of Elliott smiling, holding a plastic fork at 1:44. smiling and eating?? never seen a pic of both at the same time...

  • Heatmiser is an awesome band that evolved in a really great way. Althought dead air was a blast of a cd, i think that it might have lacked the depth that elliot smith could give (althought i still listen to that cd ALOT). The second album was also awesome but mic city sons, their last album was IMO their peak, as it combined all the good things that heatmiser members could do musically.

  • very good, zw. mic city is so great- predating elliott solo & quasi. neil's songs are really good too. low flying jets rocks!

    that record deserves more acclaim

  • my fave heatmiser song. extremely nice production by Tony. I hear Elliott didnt like the production, but I think it's like an early indication of the direction he went in.

  • this album wasn't just tony producing though. as elliott said in interviews around this time, it was tony, him, and schnapf and rothrock were mainly bringing his ideas and tony's ideas together.

tony was the force on the first 2 records, sure, but not really on the last heatmiser record. i give the credit to rothrock/schnapf at finally letting neil and elliott "take over" and letting the focus be on their melodies. even neil's stuff just sounds sublime on mic city sons.

  • motherfuckin elliott

  • These pictures are great!

He seemed like such a fun guy, i would love to just hang out with and crack jokes...

    Miss you Elliott..

  • @Obiwannabe Pictures are deceiving. He was pretty well known to be the saddest dude ever.

  • @asadaburrito idk man, i mean im sure you have read a lot of stuff on elliott, as have many of us. I get the feeling he was generally a fun person. Sure he had his ups and down, and maybe they were a bit harder then some of ours, but i think through his music we celebrate life and especially his. And i think that he would be happy to know it makes us happy.

  • @asadaburrito not true

  • @asadaburrito Not true.

  • @asadaburrito Well, even in videos of him he didn't really seem "Sad" sure he was obviously depressed, but I wouldn't bet on that being the case all the time.

  • this album is really solid, i was looking for tony lash production work, what a gem

  • ahh,...pure beauty

  • This song is amazing. Love 3rd pic. Reminds me of my sister :)
