I'm an atheist, and I just got to say that I like you guys, you are one of the very few christians that have the guts to allow comments on your videos.
@billflowers the reason most dont allow comments is because of the MASSIVE negativity towards christians. you have to sgree with me that most the comments you see on this video are arrogant and antagonistic towards the christians. its constantly "you believe in God so therefore u reject science and ur stupid and ur the unevolved species of the human race, you are a disgrace to us all!" and so on and so forth.
@RCACsurvivorman Sorry to here that, but not surprised, I use to get it a lot when I was a street preacher.
I never see the point in that sort of negativity, I tent to feel negative back, it never changes my mind, I think I'm not alone when I say I feel like digging the heels in and being more stuborn. Now I'm an atheist I get it from Christians sometimes.
but I've been around enough to know there is good and bad in both camps.
@billflowers well im glad that you do understand. but i have question, why did you lose your faith in the lord and what caused it. surely you had the understanding that you were preaching truth, so what event caused that truth to become a fable in your eyes? it saddens me to see such things happen to people of which it was foretold in the gospel that many will turn away form the truth.
@RCACsurvivorman I guess the 'event' was that I went out into the wild to prove creation & found evolution to be the more truthful answer. this took 15 years, I didn't want to believe evolution to be true. I held on to my faith as long as I could.
The strange thing is I was happy as a christian for a while. I was unhappy being half way between. Now as an atheist I'm more happy & have found real peace.
Sorry, you might not wat to hear that, I mean no disrespect to your beliefs.
@billflowers evolution, although it can hold water and i have to agree it does, there is no evidence except that u see 2 things that are different and relate them somehow. most science will avoid proving the bible true by either hiding something they find or explaining that its not what it seems or just claim that whatever creationism finds, its always a hoax and made up in the eyes of science. look up Kent Hovind and Dr. Jason Lisle and you will truly see creationism and its truthfulness.
@RCACsurvivorman I have to respectfully say I think you're wrong. I've studied & believed creationism & then studied nature for twenty years. I'm a wildlife artist, I've been in a few wildlife TV shows, and been a zoo keeper. I set out to prove god & found evolution to be true. I found that creationist usually puts forward hoaxes, if there are mistakes in parts of evolution it is science that reveals this, then people like K Hovind pick up on this & speak as if christians found the flaw.
@RCACsurvivorman Look up ' kent hovind debunked' and see why he can't prove every scientists in the world wrong. Kent thinks the world is 6000 years old, there are trees and Chinese history older than that !
Where the hell did you come up with five knowable categories? This video is utterly incomprehendable...You raelly don't understand anything about science
Nothing like a carefully reasoned argument... Mixing chocolate and ice cream to prove God's existence in a world that doesn't require one to make sense. Maybe for a rebuttal I could post a video mixing ketchup and pancakes to prove that science and religion don't mix. Now how would a stupid illustration like that make my point? Exactly.
Great example! Science + religion might taste good to some, but is ultimately really REALLY bad for you. Sweets upon sweets sounds good if you are trained to not use your brain by the ignorance-mongering institution of religion, but would ultimately lead to diabetes, obesity, lethargy, and depression. Better to think about things rationally than eat this B.S. up.
Science shall always be far more magnificent and beautiful than any religion could ever pretend to be.
The real truth is always lovely. Sadly, you ARE promoting ignorance, so I suppose it just sounds unlovely to you. @theTRUTHgroup No way! Science is beautiful, amazing, mind-blowingly stunning, and endlessly exciting. The way things really work is way more thrilling than any god!
'God' is a pathetic cop-out. He was contrived before we knew the wonderful things we know today. But now we have this exciting knowledge of things that are actually real! What an amazing time to be alive! Yay!
@CompletelyLovely ...actually stating something you are entirely unsure about & then bolstering that statement by use of proclaiming "beauty of science" is an insult to science itself. Science never presumes & always leaves the door open for those things which it cannot prove/disprove.
Are you implying that the universe does not have a beginning?
Plus God is only a concept if He isn't real, but is the "force" behind everything else if real.
And science is full of bias's that don't hinder it(some do) but also help its progress. people get an idea on how "it" works then starts the science from there.
The bible can only hinder science if its not true. And can only help if true.
No, nothing we know of or have observed thus far points to an ex nihilo beginning, the big bang only details the expansion of the current universe. Thus far god has only been evidenced as a concept and has not helped science in the least.
See, look at all the scientist who believe that the universe has a beginning, and yet are still able to do science.

You're absolutely welcome to believe in the Bible and accept science, but if you want to be a scientists, the Bible cannot play a bias role in hypothesis, theories or subjects for experimentation.
Now I am convinced that these guys are a satire. Oh please let them be a parody. I think I hear jesus praying for you not to make another video to defend him.
This 'Truth Group' is a parody, surely? It's got to be a group of guys that are satirising creationists. They don't offer a single genuine scientific fact, nor CAN they, because the Bible is not a science book. It is a book, written by men, to inspire hope, faith, devotion, mercy and, to a certain degree, fear. It does all of those things wonderfully well. Claiming it is scientific is not only daft it is dangerous as some vulnerable, lonely, angry, frightened or ignorant people will believe it.
Sometimes the greatest proof that something is true, is that is can be either confirmed or it cannot be adequately denied by an external, third party source. If the Bible is just man made then it should have evident errors that a scholar of the world can disprove...there is one catch...they need be as educated in the teachings of Scripture as they are in their other studies...anyone can ignorantly disprove something and come out looking like a fool but to do the opposite... I'm waiting.
Sadly, no. This is a fundamentalist group that attempts to use what they think is "humor" to advance completely moronic ideas about science in an attempt to prove that the earth is 6000 years old, magically poofed into existence out of nothing by a magical supernatural being, complete with talking snakes and IQ-raising sin-fruit.
@middlekk so you believe that there was nothing, and nothing happened to that nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self replicating bits which led to life as we know it.
i guess that reasonable enough, the belief that God created everything for a purpose and created everything himself rather than everything from nothing is just plain stupid.
So...you believe that a giant invisible wizard spoke magic words and poofed the universe into existence, including all species of every extant and extinct animal all at once? Oh sure, THAT's reasonable.
There is no "purpose" other than perpetuation of the species. Theists use "purpose" as a code word for "after death". You're more worried about some fictional after death experience than you are about living your one and only finite life here and now.
Blaah. Too sweet. Steak wrapped in bacon, now that's a classic combination! Hopefully heaven contains that and much more. Until then, I hope to eat with a little bit of humility.
LOL - you guys should really call yourselves theUNCOUTHgroup. At least do a little bit of research beyond the bible - ie. a book that was written by men and changed and rewritten many times by other men.
Don't be afraid of science - it can be your friend too.
well the burden of proof does fall upon you but, ok. there is no "space and time" there is something called "time-space" which is what special relativity is based upon. and we know that "matter" is just energy, so really there is no "force and matter" only energy. so those 2 points right there throw off the order. and if by "action" you mean "work" W=Fd, well then why isn't buoyancy a "knowable category" or inertia?
I DON'T BELIEVE WE ARE A BUNCH OF ACCIDENTS CREATED BY A PATHETIC BIG BANG "THEORY" OR DIFFERENT KINDS MAN MADE "THEORY" satan WANT'S YOU TO THINK THAT YOU ARE INTELLIGENT ON YOUR OWN PERSPECTIVE AND MAKE YOU BELIEVE THAT THERE IS NO GOD ACCORDING TO THE BIBLE PSALM 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no GOD" GOD IS REAL BUT REMEMBER ALSO THAT satan IS ALSO REAL SO BETTER THINK 2X TWICE AND START BELIEVING THERE IS A GOD BEFORE YOU EXPERIENCE HIS REALITY IN HELL ^_^
I'm not trying to be arrogant here but could someone show me a scientific article that uses "1)Time 2)Force 3)Action 4)Space 5)Matter" (in that order) as some standing of scientific evidence of anything? the only place i can find this is on creationist websites, all claiming that they are the "5 knowable categories of science", but i have never heard a secularist scientist claim such a thing. this idea seems to only circle in the creation movement.
The box that most people try to stay within has 2 things it can do- 1)Reveal to us there is a Creator, a transcended Creator, that created the Cosmos or 2) Reveal that it created itself from nothing-nothing.
Now, I'm no genius, but the definition of 'nothing' means no thing. Hmm.. Time added to equation? Hmmm... that's like well, 0 times 1 equalling well, 0 .... you can't take nothing and make something. you always have to have something.. I'm sorry, but that IS logical. Much love! :)
What people don't seem to know or understand, is that the concept of mans venture into scientific design was that it was developed b/c of people discovering Gods wonders. Not man trying to figure out science w/o God as the Creator.
Is geology part of science? Because geology states that the Earth is 4.6 billion years old.
Is biology part of science? Because biology states that evolution did happen.
You are free to disagree with science (geology, biology, genetics, anthropology, archeology, etc...all of which agree with my position, not yours) but there is certainly no "interpretation" issue here on my part.
Perhaps you'd like to redefine "science" as "anything that agrees with my presupposition"...that's not "science"
Come on now, you're called the truth group. You should know you can only arrive at truth if you do some research, look at the issue in question from both sides and then make an informed decision. We know the earth is billions of years old, we know evolution did happen. Granted our understanding is still limited, but the evidence accumlated up to now heavily leans towards abiogenesis/evolution, as opposed to creationism.
To do an act, dont you need energy? To get energy, something needs to act. But dont say Big Bang did it. cuz that is just taking the word God and puting in Big Bang. Everyone knows God did it, you know.
If you think its so wrong in so many places... thell us them. I'm sure the maker of the video can make a new one without that error... BTW; that comment is so wrong in so many places.
1. The biblical phrase mentioned has absolutely nothing to do with science, fact or the empiricist epistemology.
2. This video, in essence, is, "Science and God go together, really!," and then no credible evidence is provided. Without evidence, what is an argument?
3. I don't see at all how this deals with proving the Bible, it is quite off-topic from its title.
4. I have no idea where these arbitrary categories came from.
You can't prove the bible, why would you want to you're suppose to believe in god and not dought it so what's the point in trying to prove it if you believe it is real already, like me.
At least some people like to know they have an actual reason to believe a thing, rather than believing out of wishful thinking, or believing because an element of their own belief structure requires belief, which is basically what you stated. "I don't doubt God, because God doesn't want me to doubt God." According to your standards, no person of any other faith than yours has a good reason to convert to your religion--their god wouldn't want them to.
God is omnipotent. His will is reality. He doesn't make the universe exist, he simply wills it and it is. Therefore, nothing that happens can be against his will. Thus, everything that happens, even the raping of children, must be god's will.
On another note, if everything god creates is good, then that would mean things like progeria and harlequin ichthyosis are good as well. That would mean that mental retardation is good, or any of the thousands of different hereditary diseases. explain that
Oh, so I guess we should tell all the children born with diseases that cause them pain throughout their lives that they deserve it? If god is sos just then he wouldn't let things liek that happen to innocent people would he?
No God never said life was a cake walk. In fact, He said if you follow me, life will be tougher for you.
Your statement is a straw man argument. It's like saying if God is real why doesn't He heal amputees? God doesn't have to. He's God. Just like he doesn't create us all with the ability to spell well:)
If "everything" was perfect, then it would be necessary that humanity, too, would have been perfect. A perfect human, having free will or not, would not have violated the will of his God--the act of sin is an act of imperfection, and a perfect being would not be capable, being prevented by his/her own perfection. So, either God didn't create us perfectly, and now punishes for flaws in his own design, or we were perfect, and therefore must continue to be so until death.
That's not an explanation; it's just a rewording of the same idea that begged the question in the first place. Please explain how "perfection can produce something which can 'choose' to screw up." Thank you in advance for your time.
Actually, the point is that He was still willing to create us knowing that we would "screw up." The choice to goof up is our own and in reality it would be better defined as rebellion. He loved YOU and ME enough to create us anyway. I don't know you from a baseball bat but knowing who I was... yeah, I have a lot to be grateful for.
What does an epithet of the planet Venus have to do with anything? You do realize Lucifer is only named once in the bible and associated with the King of Babylon.
Guys, this video isn't serious. He's taking a jab at how silly and weak some of the arguments religionists come up with to build a bridge between science and religion.
No, "god" is not an Electromagnetic, Gravity, Strong or Weak Nuclear force. THOSE forces are measurable, testable and repeatable. "Heaven" is not space, we have been to space and our telescopes can see to its ancient edges...it is NOT the heaven of the bible or any other religious text.
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
Pretty much everything above the ground is considered the heavens.
Firmament; A solid, crystalline dome which encompasses a flat, round earth. Astrology does not work, thus using the stars for "signs" is absurd. Needless to say, the bible's description is wrong.
Well in my "bubble" there are no Angels, Demons, Curses, Magic Wands, Zombies, Blessings, Giants, Long Haired Strong Men, Talking Animals, Devils, "Original" Sins, World Wide Floods, Magical Realms, Eternal Tortures or Jealous Ego Maniacal Gods.
You are wrong and all religions are wrong that claim that love or compassion are the exclusive domain of THEIR religion. As for common sense, what makes sense about worshiping a jealous, homicidal war god who causes evil but claims to "love everyone" yet condemns anyone to permanent torture for non permanent crimes...crimes including thinking the wrong thoughts. Common Sense? Truth? Hardly.
So your god, would do what you wanted and show mercy when it was in your favor right? Not like we should follow God's word right, thats all full of rules and stuff.
God the creator of the Heavens and the earth shouldn't give us rules and stuff. And since bad things happen to seemingly good people, thats also God's fault?
You are braver than me. I am a God fearing Christian. I know when my time is up here, He has a place for me. What about you? Then what? Are you 100% sure?
I wanna hear your so called "proof" and I want you to go out and get peer reviewed like any other scientific proof , so you guys can win the nobel prize, since noone else has been able to prove a god exists.
Man has taken science, whispered bitterly into it's ear, and completely turned it against God; but science without the biased, God-hating, embittered opinions of man is totally reconcilable with the Bible. In fact, science is a powerful medium for showcasing the strong evidence that exists for an intelligent creator. I personally thank God for science, and for equipping man with the intellectual gift of making so many wondrous discoveries with it. Praise God for science!
I'm not gonna argue with you about the age of the universe or the age of the earth but man, God is eternal. That means He OWNS time. He's not "trapped" in it like we are.
the fact that Time, matter, space, force, action are all used in the bible, this means that there is no way that science can disprove God because God created science in the very first chapter of th Bible! :)
Jesus is in hell for committing Suicide. He knew he was going to be crucified, created the Tools to do the job, Hung himself up there with said tools. Hence, he committed suicide and went to hell.
Do everyone a favor and follow in your saviours footsteps.
Creation or Intelligent Design cannot be scientific, a theory, or a hypothesis purely by definition. All of science must be falsifiable, and both pose no positive evidence to test or replicate.
Faith isn't a valid way of understanding the universe, unless of course you can actually separate fact from fiction with faith? How about progressing medicine?... Creating more efficient computers? What about helping us understand why particles act the way they do? No... What else would you take on faith?
It's not easy to be creative in a positive way. It's easy to tear something down or to be perverse, but it's much more difficult to be positively creative. Our culture is in a crazy place, but David slew Goliath...
hmmm looks like the truth group needs to look up the definition a of strawman argument, not to mention if god created everything then he also created non-believers... for the express purpose of sending them to hell for an eternity of torture and pain, sounds sadistic to me
He gave you a choice and you are CHOOSING to spend eternity in hell being tortured and in pain......talk about sadistic! Who in there right mind, would choose that over being with their creator? If you don't like the idea of Hell, its very simple, don't go there. The choice is yours, and only you can change that.

ozmoroid 2 years ago

I'm waiting.
tabdu296 2 years ago
They're total idiots.
middlekk 2 years ago 8
I know a guy who was a college professor who became a creationist. eh taught geology and his wife taught biology for decades. Nice guy
sciencegeekjsusfreak 2 years ago
@middlekk so you believe that there was nothing, and nothing happened to that nothing and then nothing magically exploded for no reason, creating everything and then a bunch of everything magically rearranged itself for no reason what so ever into self replicating bits which led to life as we know it.
i guess that reasonable enough, the belief that God created everything for a purpose and created everything himself rather than everything from nothing is just plain stupid.
RCACsurvivorman 1 year ago
@RCACsurvivorman
You're more worried about some fictional after death experience than you are about living your one and only finite life here and now.

well the burden of proof does fall upon you but, ok. there is no "space and time" there is something called "time-space" which is what special relativity is based upon. and we know that "matter" is just energy, so really there is no "force and matter" only energy. so those 2 points right there throw off the order. and if by "action" you mean "work" W=Fd, well then why isn't buoyancy a "knowable category" or inertia?
ShikaNinja 2 years ago

here's the truth guys:
last monday my dog dug a hole in the backyard, pooped in it, and from that the earth and everything on it was created.
1. Time- last monday
2. Force- the kinetic energy of my dogs paws
3. Action- hole digging
4. Space- the hole.
5. Matter - canine feces...and the subsiquent world
Sorry guys, its all there. Science doesn't lie.
gprekai 2 years ago
I'm not trying to be arrogant here but could someone show me a scientific article that uses "1)Time 2)Force 3)Action 4)Space 5)Matter" (in that order) as some standing of scientific evidence of anything? the only place i can find this is on creationist websites, all claiming that they are the "5 knowable categories of science", but i have never heard a secularist scientist claim such a thing. this idea seems to only circle in the creation movement.
ShikaNinja 2 years ago

Not man trying to figure out science w/o God as the Creator.

camera31 2 years ago
cute idea...I will give you that...
but to say "God created science"....do you then still deny the SCIENCE that states the Earth is billions of years old and that evolution DID happen?
EITHER....God created science and therefore there is no problem with these two things....
OR....Science and God conflict.
Which is it?
KingHeathen 2 years ago
Science does not say the Earth is billions of years old and it doesn't say evolution happened.
The only problem here is your interpretation.
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
Is geology part of science? Because geology states that the Earth is 4.6 billion years old.
Is biology part of science? Because biology states that evolution did happen.
You are free to disagree with science (geology, biology, genetics, anthropology, archeology, etc...all of which agree with my position, not yours) but there is certainly no "interpretation" issue here on my part.
Perhaps you'd like to redefine "science" as "anything that agrees with my presupposition"...that's not "science"
KingHeathen 2 years ago
Don't worry, you'll find out sooner or later.
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
Answer honestly. If you really are wrong, would you even WANT to know?
OstadJim 2 years ago
Come on now, you're called the truth group. You should know you can only arrive at truth if you do some research, look at the issue in question from both sides and then make an informed decision. We know the earth is billions of years old, we know evolution did happen. Granted our understanding is still limited, but the evidence accumlated up to now heavily leans towards abiogenesis/evolution, as opposed to creationism.

I'll answer if you don't mind : ).

You can't prove the bible, why would you want to you're suppose to believe in god and not dought it so what's the point in trying to prove it if you believe it is real already, like me.
yoyoboy70 2 years ago
At least some people like to know they have an actual reason to believe a thing, rather than believing out of wishful thinking, or believing because an element of their own belief structure requires belief, which is basically what you stated. "I don't doubt God, because God doesn't want me to doubt God." According to your standards, no person of any other faith than yours has a good reason to convert to your religion--their god wouldn't want them to.

"If god created everything, then he created science"
The "if" is the most important part of that statement.
CarpeOmne 2 years ago
1) God created everything
2) Everything god creates is good (it says this in the bible by the way)
3) God created Satan (also in the bible)
4) God created evil (also in the bible)
Therefore, Satan and evil are both good.
QED your god fails because he can't even be internally coherent.
Sorry guys, but maybe you should try actually reading a science book or the bible sometime.
kriztufer2001 2 years ago
The original creation was good.
Originally, Lucifer was good, too.
People and Lucifer were created with the capacity to disobey and do wrong.
Thus, people like you who go against God and his word.
Perhaps you are the one in need of reading the Bible?
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
God is omnipotent. His will is reality. He doesn't make the universe exist, he simply wills it and it is. Therefore, nothing that happens can be against his will. Thus, everything that happens, even the raping of children, must be god's will.
On another note, if everything god creates is good, then that would mean things like progeria and harlequin ichthyosis are good as well. That would mean that mental retardation is good, or any of the thousands of different hereditary diseases. explain that
kriztufer2001 2 years ago
Easy...
It's called the 'Fall' of man.
You should read about it some time.
In the beginning, everything was perfect.
Then, people screwed it all up.
It's all in the Bible.
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
Oh, so I guess we should tell all the children born with diseases that cause them pain throughout their lives that they deserve it? If god is sos just then he wouldn't let things liek that happen to innocent people would he?
kriztufer2001 2 years ago
No God never said life was a cake walk. In fact, He said if you follow me, life will be tougher for you.
Your statement is a straw man argument. It's like saying if God is real why doesn't He heal amputees? God doesn't have to. He's God. Just like he doesn't create us all with the ability to spell well:)
thatguyashe 2 years ago
If "everything" was perfect, then it would be necessary that humanity, too, would have been perfect. A perfect human, having free will or not, would not have violated the will of his God--the act of sin is an act of imperfection, and a perfect being would not be capable, being prevented by his/her own perfection. So, either God didn't create us perfectly, and now punishes for flaws in his own design, or we were perfect, and therefore must continue to be so until death.
Authilus 2 years ago
Please explain how it's possible for perfection to produce a screw up. Thank you in advance for your time.

Perfection can produce something which can 'choose' to screw up.

fubaraoul 2 years ago
Actually, the point is that He was still willing to create us knowing that we would "screw up." The choice to goof up is our own and in reality it would be better defined as rebellion. He loved YOU and ME enough to create us anyway. I don't know you from a baseball bat but knowing who I was... yeah, I have a lot to be grateful for.

theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
No, "god" is not an Electromagnetic, Gravity, Strong or Weak Nuclear force. THOSE forces are measurable, testable and repeatable. "Heaven" is not space, we have been to space and our telescopes can see to its ancient edges...it is NOT the heaven of the bible or any other religious text.
kev3d 2 years ago
(Genesis 1:14)
"And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:"
Pretty much everything above the ground is considered the heavens.
(Genesis 1:20)
"...and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven."
And, by the way, God is the ultimate force of all forces.
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
Firmament; A solid, crystalline dome which encompasses a flat, round earth. Astrology does not work, thus using the stars for "signs" is absurd. Needless to say, the bible's description is wrong.

Well in my "bubble" there are no Angels, Demons, Curses, Magic Wands, Zombies, Blessings, Giants, Long Haired Strong Men, Talking Animals, Devils, "Original" Sins, World Wide Floods, Magical Realms, Eternal Tortures or Jealous Ego Maniacal Gods.
kev3d 2 years ago
You also forgot: truth, love, grace, mercy, forgiveness, open-minded, willing to learn, a humble heart, common sense, etc...
theTRUTHgroup 2 years ago
You are wrong and all religions are wrong that claim that love or compassion are the exclusive domain of THEIR religion. As for common sense, what makes sense about worshiping a jealous, homicidal war god who causes evil but claims to "love everyone" yet condemns anyone to permanent torture for non permanent crimes...crimes including thinking the wrong thoughts. Common Sense? Truth? Hardly.
kev3d 2 years ago
So your god, would do what you wanted and show mercy when it was in your favor right? Not like we should follow God's word right, thats all full of rules and stuff.
God the creator of the Heavens and the earth shouldn't give us rules and stuff. And since bad things happen to seemingly good people, thats also God's fault?

Man has taken science, whispered bitterly into it's ear, and completely turned it against God; but science without the biased, God-hating, embittered opinions of man is totally reconcilable with the Bible. In fact, science is a powerful medium for showcasing the strong evidence that exists for an intelligent creator.

One single spoken sentence=Universe.

Universe is derived from the Latin word "Universus" which means: "turned into one"
Uni = One
"versus", past participle of "vertere" = To turn
Thus "Uni versus" = to turn into one
