I saw this dude in Niagara Falls 2 years ago... dude was makin out with 2 chics lol. I looked online and it said he has a gf... poor broad either has no idea or just puts up with it for his money and fame... just another typical athlete's girlfriend/wife
Ancic has had a ton of injury problems but he used to be way better without those over exaggerated strokes. Even his service motion is way more exaggerated than it once was.
its great to see Dancevic live. I saw him win against frenchman Marc Gicquel courtside at Newport. He gives off an aura and a calm and collected vibe. He has an excellent return of serve. Awesome serve. And great net skills. Came back from love 40 in the first set.
I've watched Dancevic live a few times and he is very entertaining to watch, great flair and shot making. He lacks 2 things - good shot selection on key points (i.e. playing the percentages when it matters) and consistent concentration/focus - he plays 2 great games and can then play 2 terrible games making UFE's. If you look at the top 10 players they rarely give up momentum in a match. Seems like a real nice guy though off court, I hope he does well.
sadly, this is one of his most consistent performances!!! in most of his matches he goes for broke on almost every shot.
There's only one time where he was on fire making almost all of his shots and even then, he came up short in the key moments. ALso he was facing Nadal, who gives no freebies
@fbinsulation indeed - Dancevic was right in that match, won the first set breaking Nadal with a series of brilliant winners. Played one boneheaded drop shot in the 2nd to get broken, then Nadal served 100% 1st serves in the 3rd set to beat him.
THat was the same tourney Djokovic beat Roddick, Nadal and Fed back to back to beat #3/2/1 in the world to ascend to the new world #3.
He has definately been touted as a talented player, but like with most players of his caliber, what separates them and the top is the consistency and being able to bring this kind of form when it matters most, as in on the big points or the big matches such as Grand Slams.
Plus, Dmitry Tursunov of all people, seems to have his number. Both ATP finals that Frank has made he's lost to Tursunov. Tursunov is hot but he's not really that great.
His match against Nadal at the 2007 Rogers Cup was amazing. He broke Nadal to win the first set with 3 amazing points. He made one mistake to get broken in the 2nd, and in the 3rd, Nadal served 100% (!!!! not even kidding) that's how good he had to play to beat Frank
There is couple thing he has to improve to his game, topspin backhand and minimize his UE, otherwise this guy has amazing volley, slice(almost as good as federer),big forehand, and great serve to be in top 20........ + consistency if he want to be in top 10
i know this guy since his mathc with Del Potro in Montreal 2007 and I really liked his agressiveness. It's just a shame that he has such a poor record compare to his talent =(
Well ,I am impressed by Dancevic. I think that he is a dangerous floater. But I don't think that he can consistently win against all of the big guns of the game. He just doesn't posess the power to end the point from anyplace on the court. That unfortunately is needed to win in todays game. I think that he can win against anyone, considering that he is playing well, and his opponent is playing below the level. I mean no disrespect, I just state my opinion.
I saw him play against Nalbandian at Wimbledon last year and he blew him off the court. I had never seen him before and was very impressed by his style of play, he reminded me of Federer a bit.
yeah he did beat ancic at toronto but those courts r ancic worst surface he has only won 1 match ever at the us open and those courts r the same so it may look like a good win but really it is'nt and i don't think he would be able 2 beat ancic on any other surafce
ancic ´s worst surface is hard? I think you´re utterly mistaken by that!, a guy like ancic play´s his best on the hardcourt´s and fast surfaces in general!
yeah that should be the case but it is'nt look at his record on fast hardcourts he has only ever won i match at the us open and his record at toronto and cincinatti is poor aswell, ancic best surfaces r grass and slow to mediam hardcourts, presonaly i don't know y this is the case cos ancic with his game should be a lot better on fast hardcourts
Just watching him play Tsonga in the Davis Cup

He does not have the racquet speed like Roger has. He also does not move like Roger. But he is very good.

I was at this match at the time ancic was around 30 in the rankings. I think this is some of dancevics best tennis matches

He destroyed Roddick at Indy. Think he needs a good coach, both mental and gameplan wise.

Is his match against Lopez available for download??

This guy should be in the Top 20. A quick look at his stats suggests that he loses to guys he shouldn't on a regular basis.
I try to play this classic style in my own tennis, too bad I'm not half the athlete he is. :(

frank dancevic certainly has got skill´s to play this game, great touch and feel at the net, this guy should be in the top 20 with his talent..
reefric 3 years ago
He makes want to learn the one-handed backhand...
SunderedPrey08 3 years ago
yeah, ancic's forehand has a long takeback and a slow swingspeed. It's a very solid stroke from the backcourt, but may come short on passing shots
I personally prefer medium takeback and lightning swingspeed.
fbinsulation 3 years ago
is it just me or does ancic's forehand just look terrible. looks so slow and seems to have wasted movement ahaha

yeah, it's the movement. I would say his groundstrokes look less solid, but his aggressive return of serve and volleys are superior to Federer.
