I know that now WotLK is out you do more damage, but in the lvl 67-70 bit, your doing about 198 damage each time, im lvl 44 and im doing 243 damage for most hits, blizzard messed that one up

Ever since the aoe nerf it sucks. Imo the crits are leet but the damage reduction on huge groups sucks for aoe gridners. To be sure you won't die you have to limit your pull.

This is actually really good experience. Especially after the past few patches involving experienced gained from creatures and needed to level up to 80. Also, with heirlooms + blizzard crits, this is a super easy way to leveling. Also, the Ice Block glyph is really great as well, causing your frost nova to be out of cooldown.

I do want to say though, that leveling via Call To Arms Battle Grounds is definentaly

" better " experience, but you can do AOE grinding while you wait in queue.

For level 67-70, I actually recommend going to the nether beasts at around (56,77).  There are a whole clump of them on an edge, and they only have 1k hp. The respawn time isn't that bad either. :3

@ Pyrowave: Another proove that back in the days (2007) frosties damage was weak compared to nowadays.Just started another frostmage and indeed, it's much easier now to AoE grind.Other than that - glad you liked the movie and "may the frost be with you" ;)

It's funny that when he is in Tanaris in level 45-50 he does 101-102 dmg with Blizzard on each target. My mage is not good geared at all, but I hit the mobs for 103-104, and I'm level 37.

With the AoE nerf I wouldn't suggest in heavy areas. But yes, shatter is good as it often freezes mobs.

You can actually start aoe-leveling at lvl 20 now. With a mount you can collect a lot more mobs. It does however require a lot of practice. The best place to start at 20 is far northwestern barrens, with the large packs of gypsies. You can stay here until 21-22, then I would move to the gnolls in Wetlands.

I'm currently making a complete 20-80 mage aoe leveling video. It's gonna take a couple of weeks more, but will be worth it :)

Oh yeah, it still works. If it was nerfed, you'll never notice. If anything, it was buffed. Blizzard can crit now. I used to have to use Blizzard 3-4 times to kill the mobs I'm AOEing. Now I only have to do it once, maybe twice. It's never been easier!

Oke for all those with bad comments or don't know how it works. This vid tells you how it works. if ya don't know what to take: Frost armor, ice armor or molten armor. Stick with what is for you the most comfortable. I like to use Frost armor and for me that works the best. And Nowadays its even easier then shown in this video because of the fact that now blizzard can crit. :)

Another GREAT trick for this is, if you're a Herbalism/Alchemy mage, whip up a bunch of Oil of Immolations. If you get dismounted after making a large pull use one of the Oils then Ice Block. The Oil will still damage the mobs around you while you're protected. When Block is done just proceed as normal.

Does 250 damage over 15 sec, 50 damage every 3 sec.
