This version is as good as the original. EXACTLY as good as the original! (note the lip synching)

This is a re-release of "Boys Don't Cry". In fact, from right before they started breaking big.

If you listen to either "Three Immaginary Boys" or "Boys Don't Cry" in particular, you can tell by the production which version is the earliest... not to mention how his voice aquired a much more open and expressive quality than in the previous version.

Everybody lipsynched then; TV didn't have propper sound so, there was little choice.

It's time maybe to consider releasing this song one more time. Maybe the Taratata version. I played Boys Don't Cry for my nephews ages 13 and 15, it grabbed them right off; they began downloading lots of Cure songs and are now steady fans. Boys Don't Cry is a classic for the ages, and will never get old.
