A lot of people believe the Giant Characters are going to be bottom tier, despite their strength they simply lack a lot of combos and options because they are so big a lot of their moves will miss unless combo'd but they will only decrease the damage, they also don't have the ability to have a partner to help continue combos and they are generaly slow overall and can be caught in loops and grabs easily.

Na, he isn't tough in Ultimate all stars, I just mash my buttons for a break away, however with a team of megaman and alex, the giant guys are more afraid of them. Megaman for his long distance and alex for his grabs :D aaaahahahahahaha I want to see a G. Lightan expert now, really really bad.

G Lightan has no problems chassing down jumping/ running away/ projectile players. u just have 2 kknow how to use him (i have a tekkaman blade counter stratgy 4 gold lightan  hit me up if any 1 wanna know)

idk about the japanese version, but you can break out of gold press in america, and you could be really cheap and use teckaman blade with all of his long range grabs.

People need to stop underestimating the crash burst. It breaks grabs and some supers as well as slightly stunning your foe.

Mega Crashes cost 2 full Hyper Combo meters to use, and you get a maximum of 5. After you use them up, then you're fucked. What if a Lightan/PTX user keeps spamming throws and Hyper Combos after using your Hyper Combo meters up?

Against both giants you cannot break their grab, you're just wasting your time.even if you crash break, it doesn't send them flying they just grab you mid air as your mid break.

What are you talking about?  Breaking from the giant's grabs is ridiculously easy. Infact far easier than breaking from the grabs of any other character. All you do is mash buttons and waggle the stick.

Anyways, it depends on what you mean by harder. Executing combos and stuff is easier than marvel and harder than 3s (imo), but you have to be really careful like in Marvel because one hit can lead to you dying.

There really should be a forced ban on him imo, he can take a shinko hadoken to the face and then grab ryu while hes using it. (super armor).

Grab range is rediculous.

The only Character that I feel has an upper hand on him is PTX, but PTX sucks against a normal team of 2.

And comboing in this game is totally different from sf3 imo. Its more like MvC2, or specificly blazblue, an easier version of the magic series. Also pushblock is back, and snapbacks are character specific.

I think the problem they faced when they made Gold Lightan and the PTX is that they each had to count as two characters. That's ground Capcom has never trodden, so it's very hard to find a balanced way to do it right out of the gate. Still, I applaud them for adding something new and interesting.

@Wolfia18 - Not exactly, the Capcom vs SNK games (made by Capcom) had the Ratio system so you could end up with a team with one really strong character against a team of four weak ones. Similar situation, IMO.

Luckily, there are some attacks that pierce the super armor (notably the Level 3 supers and command throws and) especially the whip attacks like Karas' HCB (or was it HCF) and Tekkaman's assist. Then you can set up launch and combos.

He is rather good, and totally changes the game for every other character. However I play Karas and Karas just rapes the gold and PTX as he can infinite and do some massive combos.
