Prep and drape technique for cataract surgery

Dakota Lynn, Try not to think about it too much. I know that's hard. You really won't know what they're doing, based on my eye surgery experience and what I've heard from other people. This time tomorrow, over with, and on the way to recovery.I would let the personnel there know that you're nervous...because they want to make it as easy for you as possible. Good luck!

vieon1012, I'll bet your mother's experience will be like mine. Tell her not to worry. She won't see any of the preparations, whether they are the same as in the video or not, due to the sedative they will give her. She'll love her better eyesight.

@bemdafis well.im 17. Scared to hell, and nervous. Id like to think Im tough, but the results from a 6mm plastic BB certainly humble a person. 15 hours till i have to have it done, and if the little bunjee cord looking things that the lens stays on are damaged I wont have a lens put in. They will have to do another surgery and sueter it to something around where its supposed to be. I hope they just get it over with in one big bang. ha.look at me rambling on about my life story.im kindof pathetic

For anyone considering cataract surgery...don't watch this video! I'm sorry that I did. It caused unnecessary anxiety. I had this surgery two days ago. Before the surgery I was given drops to numb the eye. The sedative they give you in the operating room put me out immediately. I was not awake during the procedure. . I had very little pain afterward. A Tylenol took care of it. And the difference in eyesight is phenomenal.

I have a question, For getting cataract surgery. Are you awake when they do it? or a sleep? I'm just wondering. What do they give you before the surgery? i hope it's painless.
