We currently have two white huskies, Kianna and Satch, and a red and white, Ziggy, they are the biggest babies in the world. My big brother was a silver and white named Max, literally the best baby sitter my parents could have ever hired. We've also had a red and white named Rufas and a husky malamute mix named Missy. Each one has their own personality and they're seriously the sweetest breed of dog out there.

If there's some at my local shelter or someone has some I want to study them a bit cuz I'm thinking of getting 1 this year finally...it's been the kind of dog I've wanted since i was little. Big, furry, hyper, energenic, protective, friendly, pal. Ha a pitbull, it was close, and I think a husky will be closer to my type.

floor phobias are really easily resolved just put the lead on and walk it around the tiled floors and dont give up on it, to me its kinder to put it through the stress of getting over the fear than to force it to live with it because tiled floors are just about everywhere
these dogs are beautiful and I really want one but PLEASE everyone consider getting a dog from a shelter, they need you the most. Thousands of homeless dogs are put to sleep every year in this country because we don't have room in our shelters and they are not adopted.
i agree. Both of my huskies are rescue dogs. Asia is from the local humane society and Denali is from a breeder friend. He was returned to the breeder when he was three because of a divorce and his owner moved into an apartment.
PLEASE - PLEASE - do your research first!!! Huskies are a very hyper breed - they MUST be walked every day - they are VERY high maintenance!! A bored Husky is a destructive Husky - they will dig and chew when bored!! So if you cannot devote about 30 - 60 minutes EVERY DAY to your Husky PLEASE consider another breed!!!!! On the AKCs Dog Intelligence scale of the top 50 dog breeds Huskies rank #49 they are NOT bread for intelligence ONLY for work and play!!
I'm not sure that I agree. Youre attaching HUMAN feelings to an animal that may not be capable of having human feelings. I am SURE that my husky (never a adult chewer) never tried NOT to seek attention - it was kinda his job and he took it very seriously. Plus I was gone for extended periods (7AM to 11PM) and he still never chewed. And I HOPE he never suffered fear, or anticipation or any phobias!!! Thats asking a lot from a dog!!!
Not at all - I am sure they have SOME feelings - but not all human feelings. I think dogs cannot know fear - they do know the difference between fighting and running away (fight or flight response) - but I don't thingk dogs have phobias!!!!! That is asking a littl too much!!

Also when my Husky Granite was put down due to cancer - his mate Alaska for 14 years was with me. They were NEVER more than a few feet apart for over 14 years. When Granite was put down - I cried like a child - Alaska only wanted another of the vets cookies!!!! Not sure dogs can have ALL human MENTAL feelings.

Howling/crying is a pack animal response of the pack not being assembled. To your dog - YOU and your family are his most valuable possession his pack.
He's not crying - he is howling - which is what social pack animals do - often - it tells the pack where they are and is used to assemble the pack - THAT is why they howl/cry - it is instinct - not crying. And since humans do not have this instinct, we simply tend to associate the dogs actions with whatever is closest to our feelings!!!
there is a major difference between howling/barking and whimpering/crying and if u cant tell the difference u shouldn't have a dog. they r not just some lower species that u r smarter then and have no feelings or problems, besides i've know dogs smarted then most humans
I understand your love for your dog - I have the same love for mine - but my dog is a dog - not a human and he is treated as a dog not a human - and he prefers this - and it is better for him!! I do not bathe him ever nigh - but I bathe my daughters every night.
And although it may seem that he is smarter than some humans - he is not. We have taken most of his survival skills away - to hunt and to kill - so he fits into OUR lives. It is unlikely he would survive if he were st free.

Plus - you can ALWAYS tell which animals eat what - by their teeth - dogs have large K9 teeth - for tearing - we do not - humans are natural vegetarians - out teethe are made for crushing - NOT tearing meat. Dogs with long k9 tearing teeth are natural meat eaters.
And the beast food IS something like Pedigree or Iams - it is made to supply the animal with the nutrients they need to be healthy.

Actually I am a vet and I doubt highly your mother is both a vet and a reputable dog breeder. Most vet's do not take up breeding unless they are not getting customer's and no one is attending their vet practice.

Almost any animal can survive after being a pet. insticts can not be breed out or that easily forgotten no mater the attuited of the animal. As for crying/howling I've hurd many anys howl for comunation or what have you... I've also hurd animals cry when something has left them.
Instincts have already been bred out of all domesticated dogs. You do not see packs of poodles roaming your neighborhood in search of something to kill to eat. This WAS instinct in a dog - and has been bread out of them long ago.
Dogs do not cry - humans cry. YOU cry when afraid your dog does not he runs or attacks. It is the fight or flight rule he will do one or the other but he will NEVER just cry - to a dog - it serves no purpose and will only make his situation worse!

1500 DOLLARS??? I heard it they cost that much, but damn that's a lot of money. I think we were lucky with our husky for 70 gulden. That's the money we had before the euro. So it would be somewere around 32 euro and that would be something around the 40 - 50 dollars. We had her for over 14 years :) Guess it was worth the money for all the love and fun we got from her :)

budgielover9, a husky would be a great companion for you. I know what it's like to have your dad die. I got both mine at our local pound. There are full bred huskies in the pound most of the time because people get them then don't want to walk them enough. My huskies snuggle with me all night. It's very sweet and comforting. I wish you luck and hope that you get one.
♥ huskies realy want one, sometimes just need one to calm me down because always lonely now since my dad died and I just need it! brings joy to my "life" and just wish i could hug one and pet falling asleep. :)

these dogs are beautiful and I really want one but PLEASE everyone consider getting a dog from a shelter, they need you the most. Thousands of homeless dogs are put to sleep every year in this country because we don't have room in our shelters and they are not adopted.

i agree. Both of my huskies are rescue dogs. Asia is from the local humane society and Denali is from a breeder friend. He was returned to the breeder when he was three because of a divorce and his owner moved into an apartment.

PLEASE - PLEASE - do your research first!!! Huskies are a very hyper breed - they MUST be walked every day - they are VERY high maintenance!! A bored Husky is a destructive Husky - they will dig and chew when bored!! So if you cannot devote about 30 - 60 minutes EVERY DAY to your Husky PLEASE consider another breed!!!!! On the AKCs Dog Intelligence scale of the top 50 dog breeds Huskies rank #49 they are NOT bread for intelligence ONLY for work and play!!

I'm not sure that I agree. Youre attaching HUMAN feelings to an animal that may not be capable of having human feelings. I am SURE that my husky (never a adult chewer) never tried NOT to seek attention - it was kinda his job and he took it very seriously. Plus I was gone for extended periods (7AM to 11PM) and he still never chewed. And I HOPE he never suffered fear, or anticipation or any phobias!!! Thats asking a lot from a dog!!!

Not at all - I am sure they have SOME feelings - but not all human feelings. I think dogs cannot know fear - they do know the difference between fighting and running away (fight or flight response) - but I don't thingk dogs have phobias!!!!! That is asking a littl too much!!

Also when my Husky Granite was put down due to cancer - his mate Alaska for 14 years was with me. They were NEVER more than a few feet apart for over 14 years. When Granite was put down - I cried like a child - Alaska only wanted another of the vets cookies!!!! Not sure dogs can have ALL human MENTAL feelings.

Howling/crying is a pack animal response of the pack not being assembled. To your dog - YOU and your family are his most valuable possession his pack.
He's not crying - he is howling - which is what social pack animals do - often - it tells the pack where they are and is used to assemble the pack - THAT is why they howl/cry - it is instinct - not crying. And since humans do not have this instinct, we simply tend to associate the dogs actions with whatever is closest to our feelings!!!

I understand your love for your dog - I have the same love for mine - but my dog is a dog - not a human and he is treated as a dog not a human - and he prefers this - and it is better for him!! I do not bathe him ever nigh - but I bathe my daughters every night.
And although it may seem that he is smarter than some humans - he is not. We have taken most of his survival skills away - to hunt and to kill - so he fits into OUR lives. It is unlikely he would survive if he were st free.

If you understand that your dog is not a human - they how can you still attach human emotions to your dog??? Your dog knows when you are angry by the tone of your voice - NOT by what you say. And all dogs are not stupid - humans would never have domesticated them if they were stupid!! A frog is stupid you cannot teach a frog to sit - you can teach a dog to sit.
It is the same love for your dog as your child - the love for your child is much deeper and permanent.

It is NOT a belief - it is based on facts - dogs cannot be treated like humans and they do not have human feelings. You might try eating ONLY dog food for a week!! If they can live like us - why can't we live like them. Dog food is VERY healthy for a dog - not for a human!!

Are you insane????? Human food has MANY more chemicals that dog food EVER has!!! Plus - you can ALWAYS tell which animals eat what - by their teeth - dogs have large K9 teeth - for tearing - we do not - humans are natural vegetarians - out teethe are made for crushing - NOT tearing meat. Dogs with long k9 tearing teeth are natural meat eaters.
And the beast food IS something like Pedigree or Iams - it is made to supply the animal with the nutrients they need to be healthy.

first of all in ANY dog food, the first ingredients MUST be meat
the first four ingredients of pedigree:
Rice, Ground Corn, Chicken By Product Meal, Corn Germ Meal
dogs cant digest corn very well, its not good for them.
corn is a filler. and by products shouldnt be in dog food
so how can you say pedigree is good when its all fucking fillers and by products?
go read the ingredients for Blue buffalo, now thats GOOD high quality dog food

NOT TRUE, Hollyy!! I had 2 Siberian Huskies that I got at 8 weeks old - and they lived for 16 and 17 years. Both ate NOTHING but Iams their entire lives - except for the occasional hunk of cooked meat - that they rarely chewed - they just swallowed!!!!;-)))
Since humans have domesticated dogs - their diet was changed - raw meat is WAY too expensive!! They seem to be doing very well - they adapted!!!

Almost any animal can survive after being a pet. insticts can not be breed out or that easily forgotten no mater the attuited of the animal. As for any animal haning feeling/phobias yes in my oppion they could. My dog loves water but panics at deep water, And I mean panic. As for crying/howling I've hurd many anys howl for comunation or what have you... I've also hurd animals cry when something has left them.

Instincts have already been bred out of all domesticated dogs. You do not see packs of poodles roaming your neighborhood in search of something to kill to eat. This WAS instinct in a dog - and has been bread out of them long ago.
Dogs do not cry - humans cry. YOU cry when afraid your dog does not he runs or attacks. It is the fight or flight rule he will do one or the other but he will NEVER just cry - to a dog - it serves no purpose and will only make his situation worse!

You don't understand - this INCLUDES humans that are 5 years old - they cry!!! Generally, the more intelligence the human has - they more they will take flight instead of fight. Generally, you will live longer. And not all dogs will kill small animals if given the chance. Ever see a poodle run after a cat??? Poodles are smart - they know a cat can EASILY put out an eye - and they know that cats INSTINCTIVELY go for the eyes in a fight!!!

They dig because they are bored!! Walk them on a leash - EVERY DAY (they will pull YOU - they LOVE this) and the digging will stop. A bored Husky is a destructive Husky!!! Wear them out - they will stop digging!!! Huskies are VERY high maintenance!!!

1500 DOLLARS??? I heard it they cost that much, but damn that's a lot of money. I think we were lucky with our husky for 70 gulden. That's the money we had before the euro. So it would be somewere around 32 euro and that would be something around the 40 - 50 dollars. We had her for over 14 years :) Guess it was worth the money for all the love and fun we got from her :)

There are full bred huskies in the pound most of the time because people get them then don't want to walk them enough. My huskies snuggle with me all night. It's very sweet and comforting.
