Basically they take off the top tier (for the bride and groom to have), and carefully cup side by side from the second all the way down to the last tier. However, in some venues they charge from $2 to $5 average per cutting a slice to serve to guests. Unless the bakery is part of the venue, then it's free.
I think no wedding cake should look like something that should be considered a birthday cake. I get people want to have non-traditional cakes, but really no one will tell it's a wedding cake with all those decorations.
May I ask what type of Icing you use for this cake? I've been having trouble figuring out which icing is best both for taste and decorating. This one looks perfect- the texture. If it's whipped do you use egg? Beautiul work! :)
First of all I want to say that this is my most favorite bakery ever. Whenever we go to Florida we HAVE to make a quick trip to Tampa JUST to go to this bakery. As far as this video - love it.
i love wedding cakes becuase they all look so beautiful...but honestly. its just a cake! most of the time, when you've reached the part of your wedding reception where you cut the damn thing, everyone is too pissed to care what it looks like anyway. I'd rather just have a massive chocolate cake. at least it will taste awesome.
The tails pretty much form as you're applying the dots no matter how hard you try to avoid them, but what you can do is wait a little bit until the icing "crusts" over and tamp them down with your finger. Same goes for the points that sometimes form when you're writing, etc.
its cute if it was for a little girls birthday pary but who wants to feed that many screaming kids... and plus i think we all know how to put polka dots on something lol sheesh do we look like idiots lmao
This one is a little better than a few of the others... at least I can see how the angle of the bag relates to what she's actually doing, rather than AFTER it's done and she spins it around.
I think it is odd... that the rim of icing between the top tier and middle tier.. it isn't all from one nozzle. Some of it is scalloped and other is regular beads,.. It looks like a mistake to me.. Usually you keep the same pattern when doing the rim
I want to thank you for sharing. When I saw some of the comments, I had to add mine. You are so right, different folks and so on. The fact that you have shared with us is so unselfish. I want to applaud you and, the cake is lovely regardless of the occasion. As long as it suits the individual.
ok this is a really fantastic cake but i definately would not want to have it in my wedding :/ i mean maybe for my birthday or something, but wedding? no way!
Different strokes for different folks. I wouldn't want a Star Wars cake for a wedding cake either, but I know ppl who did and it suited the theme of their wedding. Everyone has different tastes.
This was a great video.. I just think that the decorating could have been a little bit less messy! it looks like the frosting is not stiff enough and to me it looks like she doesnt really want to be there..
Perfect for a young girl's Barbie or girly birthday party! :-)

i personaly think the dots would look better if you didnt put a tail on them, just make them real dots, and not drops

I agree, but this was probably a cake for teaching. They most likely used it to show how to do each border.
Unless they really did do it on purpose, in which case... meh. :\
