  • 1981, these folk were super pioneers, think now, all these funky house clubs in London, and this is where they grab their ideas from.

  • what alot of these young kids don't understand about music like this, is the great voices that had back then along with the funkiest beats ever known too man. that's what makes all these old school songs in hip-hop (80's),funk,soul,r&b so great.these peoples voices were wonderful.today with the exception of a few in r&b,not alot of these people can sing.all these damn auto-tuned voices and shitty ass beats have ruined music today.it's all about image with very little talent today. it's sickening

  • OMG...THIS SONG IS FIRE!!! JUST LISTEN TO THE BEGINNING WITH THE BEAT...YOU JUST BE BUMPIN YA HEAD TO THE BEAT, AND WHEN THEM VOCALS HIT...AHH MAN, IT'S A WRAP.....DEFINITELY COULD PLAY THIS IN THE CLUB!!!

  • @gregnice25 YEA TRUE...BUT THE FOOLZ IN THE CLUB PLAY ALL THAT AUTOTUNE BULL CRAP TODAY....UNLESS ..U HIT UP AN OLD SKOOL CLUB..THERES ALWAYS A FEW IN MOST CITIES..

  • Very catchy tune

  • excellent tunes...I loved the 80's too. Really miss some of the people who came and went from my life. Facebook helped to locate some of them, but most are gone...thank goodness the music makes them all live on in my heart! Keep posting these awesome tunes!

  • @StealthpeltWindClan Totally !!!! in fact Terry lewis and Jimmy jam (janet's producers) did produce that kind of music back in the 80's with SOS band and Prince.

  • @jarden69

Fuck Britney, fuck Jessica, fuck Beyonce, and definitely fuck Miley Cyrus! That little runt can't sing!

  • perfection.a great era.

  • It is important to note that only recently did people again appreciate this music. I used to honestly think I was the last person alive that cared anything about old music from the 70's and 80's. Gen Y (those who don't remember when this was popular) seems to be most enthused with music from this era, and I was ahead of my time with this. I bought an Evelyn Champagne King hits collection about 2000 or 2001 including this song and I'm in my late 20's.

  • @jet346 this was when she hooked up with kashif when he was on the rize a producer/somgwriter i have both of the greates hits cd's she came out..one of them has the jam outta control which is one of my favorites from here(its the cd with her looking up at the sky with her braids shinning, the albulm cover is black) but elelyn is great performer to watch check out her soul train performance on betcha she dont love you says uzipolo king of decatur

  • At first, I've thought that I was the only ones, who talk's about Evelyn "Champagne" King. I always

thought they talk about Whitney Houston and Madonna more than they talk about Evelyn King.

And now, I'm glad I'm not the only ones who is talks

about Evelyn "Champagne" King, and just me.

  • Love the chord structure and sublime bassline on these classics. This is real music. It gets the pulse racing and a reminder about why I love music so much. Only downside is I gotta play the whole thing everytime I click on one of these gems!

  • these early eighties Kashif records were the best

  • Kiss my black ass.

  • I think MichAEL WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE SaT OUT IN THE AUDIENCE ANONYMOUSLY,AND ENJOYed A SONG LIKE THIS UP ON STAGE,if it was'nt for everybody trying to KISS HIS BLACK ASS!

  • girl im so blessed 2 im talkin about the 60s 2 wow

  • I love and miss the early eighties and early 90's. I am blessed to have enjoyed all of the 70's, 80', and 90's music as a small child, teenager, and young adult back then. However, the early 80's will be dearer to me since that was when I did the most growing up. So many more of my loved ones were still alive then too, which gives those times even more special meaning.

  • i agree with you 100% godbless

  • SHE dserves so much more respect & acknowledgement I love Evelyn CHampagne KING

  • 1982 disco time

  • When i heard this song 2 years ago it was the shit. I played it about 5 times blowed than a mug.. It sounds like she says I can funk...

  • Man this chick is bad. I did not know she did all this!!! Im shakin my head like Damn!!!

  • another great tune from vice city gta

  • this song is amazin.that's an true R&B classic..

  • oh snap video music box if you from brooklyn you recognize that voice

  • Damn she can dance

  • Yep, she made "All 4 U" using Glow of Love. #1 Hit!!

  • this came out the same year i was born

  • i love the 80s too!!!!! and this song!!!

  • i luv the eighties

  • This was the s- - - back in 1981. We used to do the dance called the ''Gigolo'' to this. The album was pretty tight also.

  • i once bought a 12 vinyl of this song and if you feel it by thelma houston on the other side......both songs were great.

  • talk about funk, that was great!

  • Janet Jackson sampled this.

  • she did! what's the name of her song again?

  • R&B Junkie

  • On which song? Now don't forget the "Glow of Love" by the group Change featuring Luther Vandross on vocals sounds a little bit like this one from Evelyn King. I know for sure Janet sampled that one (Glow of Love).

  • Absolutely right gin15509. Janet DID sample Glow of Love.

  • wow early 80s clubbing gets no better miss it all great memories.

  • This young lady was HOT! I remember her burning the charts up with such hits like "Shame". I wonder what she is doing now. Probably somebody's grandmother.

  • well could be -but she is only in her 40s-Tina Turner could be her mother and Tina still look oh oh good and still performing. There was a time wwhen people lived to 900 years-so come on she is a baby

  • yeah good old days, fuck it itz over

  • Man, oh, Man those WERE the days. Brings back my junior year in High School when we all danced outside during lunch listening to this on somebody's "beat box."

    1mom

  • true legend! nice music video and song this is old school but 1st class evelyn "champagne" king is a true legend

  • The good ol days. These were the jams. All my homies back in the early 80's listened to all these jams by Evelyn. Parties in the backroads of Watsonville, Ca 1983.......sigh.

  • memories come and come around my mind ! Best time, best dressing as we could, saturday night boogie... Happy easters all !

  • Video looks like it was made before its time, it looks more like 1992, house music video

  • my fault meant to put a thumbs up..:-) because i was thinking the same thing ..look like those fun flicks they used to do on campus..early 90's

  • WOW!!! You are right! For this to be a 1981 video it looks more recent than that. It looks like a late 80's or early 90's video. One thing I know is this song use to be the jam back in the day!

  • This reminds me of the good ol' house parties at my godmother's house. Mm mm mm. Times sure have changed. I'll never get the feeling from music like I get from 80's music.

  • um naw boo boo!! Ce Ce sounds like Evelyn,I'm sure Ce Ce would agree!!! lol !

  • this do summthin 2 certain people

  • She sounds like CeCe Penniston - I swear...

  • Thanks for posting this. I almost forgot about this song.

  • I was a Jr. In high school when this came out. I remember the not so mighty whiteys did not like it because it was "a cholo song". Uh...ok. I still like it because me and my cholo friends liked it alot......

  • I was junior high school too, I miss those days.

  • Jaysua you are right homo video LOL

  • shes only 21

  • That may be true today. But that was the 80s, the decade of bizzare hair and some of the tightest clothing you could think of wearing. That was considered "the style." But I'll admit, I don't like tight ass pants myself.

  • tanyatmr i too didnt know they had a video for this either

kashif is on the boards as you can tell this is where he was going to blow up in the future love this song, saw her live in 1995 in atlanta at club axis she pulled me and my lady onto the stage with her...very fiesty!!

  • wish it was clearer though
