Look at the official DOT on time statistics. Pre Merger Delta has consistently ranked at or near the bottom of all legacy carriers. NWA has been in the top 4 the past 5 years.
@expoboy52 the only thing i dont like about DTW is the food options, everyone seems please to have a job and pleasant, i think the Detroit Metro Airport was the only stable employer for a while. at least you wont loose your bags there. unless its so cold the cargo doors r frozen shut and the luggage cant make the connections. EEk.
Try flying in and out of Detroit and see what the Northwest union culture does there. It makes Atlanta look like the model of efficiency. Put it this way; imagine Atlanta experiencing a blizzard in the middle of July, multiply that by ten, and that is a typical sunny day in Detroit. Can you provide some evidence of the bonuses Ms. Smith receives to put her children through college?

@neilbrian77 those surveys must have referred to the physical facilities. Other than the new Pudong Airport in Shanghai, it is the most beautiful terminal I have seen. The operation sucks. I have flown DTW turns for two months and only once have I arrived/departed anywhere close to schedule. Agents not trained on PMDL aircraft doors (can't local management schedule trained agents to meet these flights?), no ground personnel to park aircraft at gate, no baggage handlers to load luggage, etc.
