  • Hey are one of those girls from Varekai?

  • @deidaraismine4evr

Yup, Oleg and Tatiana at 4:10 and 4:50. They performed the acrobatic pas de deux. There are also two other people from Quidam who went into Varekai: John Gilkey (the skywatcher) and Olga Pikhienko (the handbalancer). All four of them appear on the Varekai DVD but none of them work in that show anymore.

  • @alladinmoua Ah I knew they looked familiar x3

    Thanks for answering ^^

  • Beautiful !!!

  • Just bought it on DVD, saw them live in Liverpool, can't wait to watch it again

  • ARE THIS GUYS HUMANS???

    ARE THEY STILL VERTEBRATES???

    AAAAMMMMMMMMMMAZZZZZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hey does anybody know where I can get this song? It's not on the iTunes album....

  • @thedrunkspandas

The song is called "Misère." It's on the extended Quidam soundtrack. You can also find this song on another Cirque du Soleil album called "Journey of Man." On that CD, this song is labeled as "Banquine."

  • it was like the level up of the stunts in cheering squad !!

maybe in the next generation flyers can perform like that too :D

  • did u know that tatiana and oleg from varekai are were in quidam and performed in this act it is also in the quidam movie.

  • @cirqueboy100 Whatever happened to them two, are they still in Varekai? They were also in Fire Within, Oleg is such an awesome guy : D

  • @izzih1234 Last I heard, Tatyana had to leave due to an injury. Oleg and a new partner were moved to the show Corteo. That was a year ago or so, can't say if they're still there.

  • @randonification I don't know what happened to Tatiana, but Oleg is now in IRIS in Hollywood. I saw it a week ago. AMAZING.

  • @izzih1234 They aren't still in Varekai. They left and did Corteo from what I understand for a short time. Oleg is now in IRIS I think Tatiana is done with Cirque I believe.

  • es excelente tuve la oportunidad de conocerlo amo el cirque du soleil!

  • i work at an arena where tthey recently just did this and most of them are russian and the shortest girl is so fucking hot even though shes a midget

  • fucking brilliant!! omfg they are amazing!! i am insanely jealous!!

  • Wow! Those girls are so skinny and PERFECT. I'm jealous!

  • one of the best acts from the cirque's history

  • I want to know the name of the white hair one

  • @ronaldterronesflores Well I cannot tell the name but what I can tell you is that one of that girls (girl at 3:59) also appears in Varekai. I don't remember the name of the act but there was one man with her, and they were doing something like an acrobatic pas de deux with. They looked marvelous!

  • @hikari6986 I thought she looked familiar! That's Titania! She's a Russian acrobat! She does appear in Varekai in that pas de deux with the same guy too! Cool! :)

  • I want to know the name of the white hair one

  • that little girl is AMAZING

  • my friend does her solo to this song

  • this is dark art at work. the main guy in white is clearly Draco Malfoy!

  • muzik ?

  • Oh my Gosh ! This so amazing ! I've never seen anything like that!

  • Oh my Gosh ! This is so amazing! I've never seen something like that !

  • ITS AWESOME!!! TRUST IS AMAZING. Jump and let them catch you. INCREDIBLE EXPRESSION OF whatever.

  • my favorite part in the show

  • amazing act. I just saw the show at the HP in san jose. but, there was only one girl and she was under 5feet tall.. stunning show!! im already 14 but i have hope i can do this someday:/

  • they are coming near my town in April. ^_^ can't wait.

  • i've always followed the old fashion rule that standing ovations are meant for performances that are truly spectacular, not as a formality after every performance. i really think that this would deserve a standing ovation.

  • obsessed. i've seen several cirque shows over the years but this one act always sticks out in my mind, so amazing.

  • I just came back from watching this in Vancouver. I loved the show but it did not have as many aerobatics as this video, no where near

  • I love This Act <3

  • I seriously expected one of those girls to snap in half during some of those moves. I can't even begin to imagine how someone so thin and fragile-looking can hold herself in such positions - they must be so strong!

  • @lozziemegan and very very light!! haha!

  • :-O

  • @kamenriderrakuen10 thank you so much!

  • cirque du soleil is the only thing in the world that can convince you that just jumping off of one persons shoulders isn't very high :D

it's just incredible, these people are so very, very, very special and truly talented.

  • @kamenriderrakuen10 is this song not on itunes?

  • I cant Believe my eyes! Some of this seems impossible! truly a spectacular performance! Got to go to their show when they come around cleveland again! They make all this seem so easy, they must have started doing this since they were kids.

  • erselente

  • I watch this and all I can think about is how Olympic gymnasts have a hard time sticking their landing..............that wouldn't end well here. These guys are incredible.....it blows my mind.

  • 8 people missed the like button! This is amazing!

  • you know whats totally underrated in this video? the pain those two guys feel at 1:53 after they jump down...that is a huge fall to just land directly on your feet without stumbling

  • nossa isso e um macimo essas mulheres sao muito flexsivel meu deus!

  • That´s absolutelly brilliant!!!!!

  • This is not Carrousel, it's Banquine!

  • @edumiro82 The title of the song is Carousel. The act itself is Banquine.

  • @alegria101 You're wrong, my friend, and me too! The act, as you said is "Banquine", but the title of the music is "Misère". "Carrousel" is another one.

  • @edumiro82 Yeah, you're right. I had two different videos going when I typed that. :)

  • from 4:10 to 4:23 blows my mind everytime i see it

  • this was in peru right?

  • @pascuares

This version was filmed in Amsterdam back in 1999 .

  • the best in art. show. and music. top.

  • odoo nya bolson bna lee ichmeer

  • I have to say the man in the white and the two women are my favourite from the group. I think it's because of all what they do for it or something like that. But the whole act is amzing. This is definantly my favourite from Quidam. ^^

  • the soundtrack is nothing like the actual music from the performances. its really annoying how inconsistent it is. :(

  • This was one of the greatest inspirations for my life

  • they look like theyve been throgh a war

  • amazing international entertainment

  • I saw the show and I was soooooo excited to see this act but the guy with the white hair made a mistake and then they cut the entire act....I was like NO WAYYY!!! but the girls were just effing AMAZING!!

  • tha act name is banquine carrousel is the rope act

  • And they did all that without a teeterboard...

  • Oh my God, when I'm older I want to be one of the two girls in this act!!!!! Still....I have A LOT to go before i'm even half as good as they are!! So amazing!

  • buenisisiimooo!!! q lindooo ... videoo

  • this is exactly the type of stuff that makes you want to join the cirque ><

  • This was my very first cirque show. I love this!!!!

  • it just looks so effortless.....

  • @stefaniewylie

That's the acting part of our performance... What makes a circus performer a good actor is how easy they can make their routines look.

I guess you could call it physical acting :o)

  • quidam viene a chile !!!

  • The quad backflip kill my last breathe !!!

  • Isn't this Banquine? Nevertheless, it's my favourite act in Quidam. :)

  • el mejor numero lejos

  • amazing

  • naww! Absolutely amazing!

  • wow thats amazing... big props

  • son unas reatas!!! estos tip0z!!!

  • ang tindi non !

  • o...O AMAZING!!!!!

  • que abuso, impresionante

  • This part is the BEST of Quidam !! ♥

  • i remember it like it was yersterday

  • omg omgomgogmgomgomgogmg

    AMAAAZINGGGGGGGGG :D

  • in a way, the begining bit is similar to that of chear leading except. it has stunnin grace and beauty, and control such that its nothing like chearing. if you get me?

  • I hear you. CHEER leading has an explosive element to it to get people amped/riled up. I'm pretty sure if every co-ed stunting cheer team strength trained as supposed to power trained they could do this.

  • I'm sorry, no way. You're trivializing what they do and what has probably been a lifetime of training. I've been a cheerleader...I don't even get the basis for a comparison between that and this besides the flyer and the tumbling.

  • I'm guessing it's because you yourself were a flier. I was a base and I totally get what

    iceskatercharlotte was saying.

When bases "Prep" they're gaining momentum in order to throw the flier, where as these guys have no prep at all, literally muscling the "fliers" into the air or holding them otherwise, using their body's "slow-twitch" muscle strength and endurance as supposed to their body's "fast-twitch" power strength.

  • I actually didn't even see the original comment, sorry. Idk if it's just me but YouTube doesn't group the comments correctly. Anyway, it initially just seemed like "Oh if you strength-train you could nail it." Seeing the first comment makes this all make so much more sense, lol.

  • Oh, no worries then. It is kinda confusing how YouTube groups comments.

  • meu Deus...eles parecem uma pluma!sem falar das meninas q são incrivelmente hábeis elásticas e magrinhassssss....

    muito perfeito e mágico!!!!*-*

  • love the part starting at 3:20 ish. Its so cool!

  • Perfeito!!!!!!

  • I saw Quidam twice. Calling it amazing, still wouldn't do it justice. Powerful stuff, can't wait for it to come back near me so I can see it again.

  • esta excelente!!!

  • omg las chicas que salen ahi... se ven muy fragiles...

  • Eu vou no espectáculo que havera aqui na minha cidade e belíssimo nao perco por nada, brilhante apresentação!!

  • We saw this in Sheffield it was amazing

  • we were there Friday night - AMAZING SHOW

  • I think this scene is about jealousy, honestly. Look at how the girls are interchanged with the men, and that movement where it seems one of the girls attacks the other, then they stare one another down. I think they're jealous of one another and competing for attention, but you never really see a winner. Any other thoughts?

  • @pipesoflirael I've always seen it as a man loving a woman with multiple personalities- a good side and a bad side. Eventually she cuts off the other "half" and it goes from there.

  • Comment removed

  • @pipesoflirael I've always pictured it as the people being trapped in their misery but choosing to do so because they think only misery can make them this beautiful. As for the girls, I see them as sisters and the younger one (the one who mainly dances with the man) is with him. However, this is their last dance before he leaves her for her sister. After all, being together makes them happy and they can't have that since that will make them not beautiful like this. What do you think?

  • This act calls BANQUINE... not carrousel, take care--...

  • THAT WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!!!

  • I saw Quidam last night and they didn't show this act. Do they chop and change?

  • wait for a better show? I have to travell around europe to be able to see this one... :( wish they performed in Sweden:(

  • Um where can you get these songs? I can't find them anywhere.

  • It's available on CD. I know, because I have it.

  • Those women are beautiful! Moving as if they're made of silk! So flexable, smooth and graceful! What i'd give to do that!

  • Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. How do they do it? This my favourite act.

  • that was so crazy but so mesmerising.

  • adore this song, what's it called??

  • i think carousel....not sure i'll go find out

  • i can't decide whether to go to birmingham to see this one,, I dont know whether to wait for a better tour of Cirque Du Soleil because judging by clips there looks like better ones,

  • All Cirque shows are fantastic. I've seen at least 5 myself. If you're going to try and find "better" ones, you don't understand the point of these shows and maybe would best spend your money somewhere else.

  • the world of ghosts are so beautiful. love and hate omg gorgeous!

  • whats the story for this one? The look like they are dead or somthing, but im not sure someone plz tell me!

  • One of the things about Cirq. is that you're never really sure what you're looking at. You know something's happening, but you don't know what it is, do you, Mr. Jones?

I saw Quidam live many years ago. It was one of the most moving experiences of my life, and to this day I'm not entirely sure why.

Those girls honestly don't seem human. They're exactly like dolls. It makes me think of the Theatre des Vampires in "The Vampire Lestat."

  • ohmygodohmygodomygod!!!!! I LOVE IT!!!! its so elegant & graceful when they do it, yet things like that are so dificult to accomplash!

  • sorprendente lo mejor ke he visto son muy kbrones y la musica es de lo mejor

  • stay true to your user name and explode

  • WHAT???? HOW??? NOOOO!!!!

  • love this act!! one of my favs.

  • es una lastima que alegria no haya sacado mas de sus dvd se que daron cortos

  • is it possible to download this clip, i'd like to show it to my mother?

  • wow so cool! beautiful!

amazing how they keep their balance.

  • 3:50- 4:30.. That is my favorite part of the entire thing that isn't repeated. Gosh it looks so elegant.

  • impressingst!

  • Is it just me or are they not even perspiring?!

  • @Josephontheball

Believe you me, under all that makeup & costume, us acrobats are sweating like pigs :o)

  • @Ignauhak swine flu!

  • THE ACT IS CALLED "BANQUINE"

  • I thought that was the name of this troupe.

  • This act was REMARKABLE! ;D

  • the song's not caroussel :-(

  • what's the name of this act?

  • The Banquine

  • merci

    thanks

    gracias :D:D:D:D:D

  • Yo lo vi personalemente !!!!!!!!

  • que olimpiadas ni que la chingada esto es la ONDA!!!

  • Holy macaroni!! XD

To think about the amount of trust you must have for your fellow acrobats in this routine is astounding! Beautiful, just beautiful!
