this chorus actually proves that josh is very often making songs by playing them bacwards, if you're a musician you'll know what i'm talking about, just follow the bassline and you'll get it
@seethootss most great punk songs are just other punk songs played backwards, as long as it sounds good and rocks the fuck out who cares, and the naysayers are just divulging to us their ignorance.
@247randomshit i dont think so, if you get it you get, if you dont you never will, and by what i said i didnt mean its a bad thing, it actually pretty cool and it's not easy to make something like that to sound this good
Anyone noticed that pretty much every QOTSA-keyboard-line is utter shite? Great band but this two-finger-madness makes me cry ;). Remember the Avon-version from Bizarre2001? Same.

Mark Lanegan who is this guy? ive listened to qotsa ever since rated r and i never had any idea this guy sang in the band...sometimes.or whenever he sings.
No, now he is turing with the Gutter twins. His last record was This Lullaby in Lullabies to paralyse i think. you should check his solo work, I saw him live a few weeks ago, amazing show
,he did some vocals in other songs of lullabies and in Era Vulgaris, ahh Alain wrote Hangin' Tree.the melody of God is the instrumental Cathedral City ,check in my vids
well...I don't know what's your religion, but...it can be interprete as a critic to guilt...the idea of god repeating a slogan, to behave...to be good... and to do what church says is fine, what's sin and what's not sin. Like they say that temptation calls and insist, so do religion. The only differences is that instinct is natural to humans...religion is kinda teached. Hope I've expresed myself in a proper way :)
Pull your head out of your ass and do a little research on the band before you decide to post a dumb ass comment like that. Mark Lanegan is quintessential Seattle sound and still puts out some great shit.
He was the vocalist in The Screaming tree's, in which Josh toured as a guitarist throughout 1996. He then joined QOTSA in 2000 and a secondary (third) vocalist. He has appeared on every album. But only toured from 2000-2005. He is now no longer apart of the band but continues to guest with them.
thanks but i am trying to be a hermit and become the next bill gates.. i dont have time to go out...however...i support Kyuss all the way.
queens is okay...specially in their recent albums.
kyuss is old queens - Josh started the band as a 14 yr old...you guys should check them out....very talented.
Also... i dont hate queens...I just like kyuss way better....its a personal preference...if you disagree... then its ok. No need for dem tough words.. you might scare me.

Im a massive QOTSA fan & love everything they do,however, this is the 1st time ive been unimpressed!!!! D'oh! I really dont like this, its absolutely nothing compared to the original.
Nice essay but you've missed the point all together. I dont like it because it aint that great & Josh struggles with his harmony, not because its different.
I was at the salt mine gig in germany. they played it there and introduced it as "cathedral city". talked to the dean-o and mikey after the show and they confirmed it.
