I happen to think the NBA is better now. I think the mid 90's was the worst period of basketball and was extremly boring it was the start of the 79-73 games. And I'd take Kobe Duncan LeBron over D. Robinson Akeem and Penny.

penny didn't want to come back early, he was forced by the high position to do so even he injured so badly that he had to do operation. poor guy, he was once the best pg/sg in the world, he was idol of tmac, he was jordan's successor, he could do everything well, but now there isn't a single team want him to stay behind...

penny who? he coulda been great but he was stupid for trying to come back early from the knee injury at the 98 all star game. messed up his career...i know a player who is 24 times better than him.

Back in WHAT day??? Penny is who t-mac modeled his game after. THOSE magic were the next NBA dynasty(IF penny & shaq could've stayed together). It would've been penny & shag winnin the next 8 outta 6 titles in stead of kobe & shaq. Penny's a much better passer than kobe will ever be...

He went to my alma mater and yes he was the most unbelievable passer and three-point shooter then. I think that the weight-lifting messed him up, because going to Treadwell High AND University of Memphis I'm sure he did whatever he wanted because he was already a star then. He was the quickest and most natural I'd ever seen on the court when I used to like watching basketball.

Penny(in his prime) was the closest thing I have ever seen to playing like Magic Johnson. His court vision....his passing....his unselfishness. So sad about all the injuries. A Player with his talent and size come around every 10-15 years.

Same sentiments, I was a 90's kid and growing up I idolized Penny Hardaway in the NBA, I've got 3 binders NBA cards of him, all his Magic and Olympic jerseys, and all his shoes. The only thing I don't have is Lil Penny since Im from the Philippines.

Pippen guarded guys like Nique', Penny, Hill, Sprewell, Carter, Kobe and still shut them down. No one else can guard them better. Don't forget who these guys looked up to.

he played like kobe or mike wid magic johnson passing skills back in the day when he was in orlando and the his first year in the suns but when he got injured and played for the suns and knicks it was like another different person and I didnt see him as Anfernee or Penny Hardaway no more. but you gotta give him credit and he will never be forgotten.

In his prime, I put him above everyone else who ever played the guard position...YES, INCLUDING JORDAN! He did everything just as good as Mike, other than defense, but he SAW the court better and was just a more special player...He did things that couldn't be taught.
