First of all, cadaver dogs are far from "100% reliable", as Mr Bennett claims in this video. In fact they have a high "false reading" rate.

Second, the scent of a corpse can only be detected by these dogs within a couple of weeks of the body being at the location. The scent has almost always disappeared completely, and is impossible for the dogs to detect, after a month.

The cadaver dog in the McCann case was brought in 3 MONTHS after Madeleine disappeared.
