What I really like about Spencer is the time he has for his fans. He and Fogarty were literally side by side signing autographs at Mallory Park (UK) in 2010. Fogarty was like (scribble, scribble) 'Next!' and ripping through his line of fans. In contrast Spencer spoke personally to each fan waiting for his signature. He signed a print and spoke what seemed like several minutes to me making eye contact with me all the time. It was sincere and I know that I appreciated the hell out of that.
Freddie started to suffer at the end of 85...after the double...with races to go. He started 86 with no testing and with an illness and topped up with pain killers and massacared the field (Lawson, Gardner, Mamaola etc...) untill the dreaded Carpel tunnel syndrome stopped him from blitzing the opening round in Spain (May 1986) he was never the same again :(. The Rossie/Doohan of his day!
This video was taken after Freddie Spencer's illness. After his illness, Freddie was never the same. He lost his courage and adrenalin on 500cc 2-stroke machines Freddie as a 500cc 2-Stroke competitor everyone was aware of! This time will never come again.
