My dog Lucky had bone cancer, and we had to get him put to sleep.. He was 16 years old. I think I was twelve when he died. :/ we just got my dog Reuben put to sleep on January 25th, from Carcinoid(I think) Cancer. Cancer's a b*tch. :/ This made me cry because I was thinking about both of my dogs the whole time... :/

Your tribute to Ulla didn't bring tears to my eyes, it brought them streaming down my cheeks! Like you I got my first Best Friend (rott) Max in my early 20's. Just after he turned 8 in Dec. 03' he developed osteosarcoma in his jaw. I spent every dime I had, and many I didn't on surgery, chemo and radiation treatments totaling over $17,000 Most people couldn't understand that not knowing I'd throw everything I own down to my boxers into a bonfire for 1 more day!

So sorry for your loss. My female Dobe was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma last week. She is in alot of pain but still comes to greet me at the door and wags her tail. She is on some pain meds that do help, but it won't be long till quality of life with be overshadowed by quantity and will have to put her down. So sad. Sorry for your loss!

I really know how you felt. I had a rottie female,too-Doli,but her nickname was Anchi (long story). I grew up with her,she was like a member of family,my sister. She had cancer of the uterus,we tried everything and then her uterus was gone, she barely survive,she died two years after in her 14 (2006). She was amazing,I don't have any videos of her. There are some awesome rotties with the rottweiler rescues including puppies... They are strict but rightfully so. Breeders should be for the betterment of the breed not to make money... you will get the healthiest and best tempered puppy from these kind of breeders :)

yeah, in her foot, but they think its in her liver. So all they can do is treat it symptom by symptom. So she is gunna pass sometime soon, so all we can do is hope. They dont know if it is this type of cancer, its spose to be "VERY RARE" and they didnt even know this type of dog could get it. It mostly happens to a certain type of dog. anywho, we are just doing the most least painful thing we can do to make the rest of her life better ( not radiation or kemo or however you spell it ).

I'm sorry for the loss but the problem is with the "breeders" that linebreed/inbreed (incest) the dogs and those develop genetic problems (germ. shepherds have ass stuck to the ground, hip/elbow, cancer etc.). And they do it so their dogs could win beauty contests.

I have a 14 yeard mixed dog with no problems.

I'm trying to become a breeder too, I hope to be a responsible one.

Thank you :) Yes you are so right!! there are a ton of horrible breeders out there, TONS!! and it does cause these genetic problems.... Osteosarcoma is the Rottiweiler cancer... it is just horrible... Thank you comments as always :)

:) I do my best. I have learned soooo much about nutrition and health in the last 10 years and continue to learn more every day... Oz really does eat better than me HA!! I titer before I vaccinate, stopped using flea medicine with Oz and he has never had a flea ;) I do everything I can to make sure he will get the longest, happiest, and healthiest life!

our first rottie passed away in 2006, due to a cancerous brain tumor. this made me think of him, and how amazing he was!

Aww..Im so sorry... RIP Girl!!! This makes me so sad to think about becuz i'm 22, and i live by myself with my 3 yr old rott that i got when she was 8 weeks, and i hear more and more stories about rotts dying VERY early of cancer, and it brings tears tomy eyes to think about Lexi passing away and leaving me.. she is my WHOLE LIFE.. I love her more than anything. I feel for you. OZ is urs to love now sent by Ulla,and im sure loves u just as much!

same with me making it... Thank you :) She was my heart dog! She taught Oskar A LOT :) and so lucky to now have Oskar the GREAT!! They made a great pair! I wish for people like us they lived as long as we did!
