  • This brings back fond memories of world music day on Clapham common so many years ago. I also saw them (Bhundu Boys) preforming a free afternoon concert outside of the festival hall so many years ago, gosh must be at least 20 years now. Thank you for posting such great music!

  • mugabe anotaugwa nezvake imhata yangu

  • simbimbino weee,Zim will neva be the same,,,,,GOOD OLD DAYS

  • I love the song but don't know the meaning of the words. For me, it was the perfect music for a young (then!) English kickboxer to train to. Saw the band a couple of times when they were in England just over 20 years ago. I can listen to the Bhundu Boys all day.

  • hi georgettek99, this song is about a legendary story in Zimbabwe about a man that dug a deep hole to trap his wife. the wife fell into that hole and then transformed into a pig. They then slaughtered the ''pig'' and cut it into pieces to make a meal for that night. as that was happening, the son quickly made his way to the chief to report the matter. the Chief came along and arrested that man. He was found guilty and sentenced to death.

  • Georgette99 I know the meaning of this song but what I don't understand is a kickboxer named Geogette. Please enlighten me and entertain me!!!!

  • those were the days b4 bob killed our beloved zimbabwe, i remember when the stone-wash jeans(on the cover picture) came into fashion everyone had them fom high society to a cow-herd at magunje , it was a country where all and sundry enjoyed the national cake , zimbabwe was then, a paradise.

  • it is still a paradise only the economy needs some real sorting

  • good thinking

  • @037712 Dnot forget the politics too.....

  • @madzibabapaurosi please dont be quick to blame "bob" when u dont know the facts. thats one of the key reasons receding progress because some of us hold western perspectives on the whole thing. who do u think he's standing up for??? the man is 87yrs old do u really think he enjoys bickering with british and american people who are killing people the world over every day??? we wont know what we have till its gone, some of us anyways.

  • @madzibabapaurosi

  • Does anyone here know enough Shona to translate this? I've been wondering what this song was about since I first heard it, and played it with the Bhundu Boys during soundcheck in the 80s...

  • its only about a greedy man who turned his wife into a pig after he dag a deep pit in his corn fields

  • You are in England? they worked with my Dad there years ago

  • What is the meaning of the word Simbimbino?

  • Its just a name but cant really figure out if its got a meaning - just like Rick - u cant really get a meaning for that
