  • hell yeah!

  • oh you are such an asshole......

  • HAHAHAAHAHAHA Aweee mannn that is TOTALLY the worst thing to possibly say.

  • RIP Heath Ledger

Another young star gone too early

  • Does anyone know the begining song of the movie?

  • the movie kinda show's if bob can do it anyone can.

  • i don't get it, do all the actors play him?

  • Yes they do, the director has tried to represent the fact, that Bob Dylan has had kind of multiple personas, so each one of them is played by different actor.

  • Should this movie be titled: I'm Not There: We couldn't get the rights to Bob Dylan's life story and won't use his name for any of the actors who play him so we don't get sued.

  • I want to see this movie, but it's not playing anywhere near me.

BTW, I think Adam Sandler kind of looks like Bob Dylan. He should've been in this movie. ha!

  • THis movie is amazing and almost kinda like solving a puzzle. Dylan is very complex and the movie is just mixed with a lot of vision and poetic moments which was very rivoting. I enjoyed Cate Blanchett and Heath ledgers potrayal very much. I wish that Christian Bale was in it longer. He barely talked in the movie. But once again Bale does a different accent and does it with precision.

  • Surely will. "All I can do is be me. Whoever that is." This is exemplified by the fact that several actors (even across genders) are implemented in depicting Bob Dylan's life, or at least, some glimpses within his life. If you like Bob and/or his music, then you'd probably like the movie. Otherwise, familiarize yourself with the man, music, and especially his lyrics. Peace.

  • i cant wait to see it it going to be the SHIT!

  • i think it plainly sets up that bob dylan was unsure of his personality and that a movie with different people playing him is the best way to paint a portrait of him. and that's just from this trailer.

  • I'm looking forward to seeing this movie. I love Cate Blanchett and Christian Bale. I kind of like Dylan too.

  • hey man. watch no direction home. and then youll love dylan and the movie will be a lot beter for you.

  • yeah man 7 bobs hope it aint bob hahahahahaha

  • i am toooooo psyched for this movie.. too psyched. its about time they came out with a decent movie. between this, across the universe and the darjeeling limited, i am pleasantly surprised with this years film lineup. and i HATE all the movies that are out there.

  • good trailer

  • Wait. Bob Dylan is both The Joker and Batman? It all makes sense now!

  • He is also the pope--..

  • Hahaha

  • HoLY SHIT! DAVID CROSS as GINSBERG!!!?? This movie is already an instant classic.

  • Cate is simply a GENIUS.

  • wow...i'm so curious to see this movie...just to watch how cate blanchet, my fav actress, is going to play bob dylan, one of my fav songwriter/singer!

  • There's one reason to see this: Cate Blanchett. Everyone who has seen the movie says she totally steals it from all the guys. She is getting all the attention and will for sure get an Oscar nomination. She is an acting genius. The female Olivier. She's got Dylan's mannerisms down brilliantly. All you Dylan dorks need to have an open mind or don't see the fucking movie then. I'm sick of your bitching and dumb comments like 'But Dylan wasn't black or a woman!' yeah no shit.

  • important to point out that the characters are Dylanesque but not actually Dylan although Cate "Jude" is so 1965 Bob it's scary good

  • "Good God Almighty

    THAT STUFF AIN'T REAL!"

  • I love the way they are doing this: they're casting these different actors to play different sides of his personality, not his life stages. Like, they've got him as a black runaway(Marcus Carl Franklin), a poet(Ben Winshaw), a rocker(Cate Blanchett), a movie star(Heath Ledger), a preacher(Christian Bale), and an outlaw(Richard Gere). It's not atypical biopic.. It details different aspects of his personality in different settings.

  • why did they pick an african american kid to play young bob? why are they choosing a woman to play a young adult bob? the casting is baffling

  • Get some taste, I looked at your favs, Bob Dylan's a hell of a lot better than Josh Groban!!!

  • i beg to differ. i'd like to hear bob dylyn tack a range from linkin park to pucini. josh groban has a trained voice and unlike bob dylan he takes care of his intrument, doesn't smoke out his vocal chords, pickle them in alchahol,ect...i suppose bob dylyn was a product of his generation. that he spoke to his peers in a way other singers didn't. but from as musical perspective i am just not hearing the geneius.

  • Your perspective on music is hilarious.

  • The whole point is that his voice is untrained. It gives his music an edge that a lot of people don't have.

  • Dylan's vocal style was an extension of his lyrical style.Imagine a song like Subterranean Homesick Blues done by a conventional, technically trained singer, and you get the idea.People like Peter Paul and Mary, and Joan Baez covered his songs when they were new,but couldnt convey the tone of the lyrics the way Dylans mocking, sardonic, ironic vocal style could.

  • Dylan's vocal style inpired many artists who previously thought singing was out of the question,to do their own vocals.Jimi Hendrix is the first one that comes to mind.

  • i don'ty say a trained singer, but many untrained singer's have poleasant voices. dylan was talented, don't get me wrong. he was a poet of a lyricist and a wizard of a musician, i jst find his voice so irritating that it makes his music unpleasant for me to listen to and i can't hear the legend in the songs like that. i guess it's just me

  • you are not smart.

  • @fatgirlgrobie,

singing isnt everything, he is far and away the greatest songwriter ever, he could have no voice, be unable to play any instrument and still be a legend, genius and a hero,

the point that he could play a wicked harmonica and wasnt too bad with a guitar and could sing well just increased his status as a legend etc. further

  • while i disagree i dont wish to fight you on the matter, how does the saying go? beautey is to the beholder? sorry about the spelling.

  • true, musical taste is purely opinion orientated so there is no good or bad music, just peoples opinions ,

or what is crammed into their heads in some cases

  • so true, and i stupidly read your comment wrong, i too belive he is the greatest song writer of all time, i need to stop rushing through things...

  • i do not argue that he wasn'ty a gifted lyricist and musician. he was by far as talented a guy as ever graced music. i just don't find his songs pleasing to the ear because his voice irritates me. it just does, i can't help it.

  • you ahve to give it a while and hope you dont get hooked with dylan cause when you do its over. plus youve listened to his songs a bunch of times without even knowing it

  • cant wait for this. :]

  • as the man himself said

    "I'm glad I'm not me"

    - Don't Look Back

  • trailer looks good!

  • i am sad that the chick is playing my favorite era of bob...but atleast i can look forward to the rest of it, i hope.

  • She doesn't represent an era, just a personality.

  • pretty sweet

  • I like Cate playing him the best

  • Looks pretty good. A straight bio would've been contrived. Ben Wishaw was great in Perfume, I'm excited to see him play Dylan. He nailed Jean-Baptiste.

  • I love the idea that Dylan is everyone and no one.

  • I CAN HARDLY WAIT for the release!I'm sure 100% it will be a great movie, one that will make history just like Bob Dylan did!So what if it's a little weird?I think it's original and they picked too damn good actors to fail!Plus,Heath Ledger plays too and by the looks of it he'll make a great performance at least as good as the one in Brokeback M.!

  • Btw what about the "I'm not There" song itself? It's found on the "Genuine Basement Tapes vol.2" bootleg, and IMO it is one of his greatest and most haunting songs!

  • I think it is brilliant, different... looking forward to see it!

  • awesome...cant wait to see it!

  • this is one trippy movie

  • i think the movie is original.. hopefully it'll be good....but i have a feeling that it'll be shit

  • Neither am I ! Om.

  • Personally I wish they should have waited until he was actually not here. I mean, Bob's still very much there, and even right here and now, all over the place, drawing estatic fans from 3 generations from all over the world to the concerts. It's as if they're trying to bury Bob before his time - and bury him in his past. BTW - Kate Blanchett looks to me like Patti Smith playing Bob Dylan imitating Patti Smith (The hands). Richard Gere?? I mean...

  • blanchett & bale are gods!

  • unreal

  • dylan 's fan should be "open mind" .... read their comments they sound like britney spears fans !!!

  • well, they're his 'youtube fans' lol :)

  • I'm a huge fan of concept type movies, but for a biopic? I'll wait and see the film before I trash but IMO they should've just copied the format from Walk the Line and Ray, both excellent films.

  • I know you wrote this a year ago but the only reason this film even got made IS because Bob liked the concept. He has never and will never approve of a straight forward biopic about himself because he's always been so private about his personal life. Every thing you see in this film is stuff that most people know already, so he doesn't care about it being told.

  • nikcntvignv4hvjntpyhvn6ohjbv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This better be better than Todd Haynes other music film, Velvet Goldmine which was shite.

  • she/he says it all:

    'You're Kiddin' Me, I Can't Watch This!

    I'm Just Like Them; I Can't Either ...

  • Can't wait. Love those twisted/different/weird interpretations!

  • 2 problems. Bob Dylan was never black nor a woman.

  • i guess the movie deals with dylan as the only white blues-singer considered by the black - "the little white wonder"

  • (Franklin) - an 11-year-old black boy, always on the run

(Blanchett) - the young androgynous rock star

That explains the women and the black kid. Maybe it doesnt make sense but this is hollywood and "arty" folk

  • this is really one of the most wonderful things I've ever thought about. I'm crazy excited this trailer exists for right now.

  • Hot daym this looks good

  • it would really take more like 2 dozen actors to impersonte Dylan properly...but 6 will do I guess.

    See how it comes out

  • At last a trailer! It just looks AWESOME!! Thanks funkyfru!

  • all that scotland has to offer - shite newspapers and fat chicks

  • this looks GREAT. thank god colin farell isn't in it anymore, instead heath replaced him. and heath's a better actor :)

  • It looks...interesting. Could be great :)

  • OMG!This is sooooooooooooo COOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!I can't hardly wait for the release! If this doesn't win an Oscar ,I'll shoooooooot myself! It looks really great! Thanks a million for the trailer!
