@jetfreak4 Yeah, even with powerful RR Trent 500, they still eat a lot of runway. CFM56 engines are too small for A340.

@raykrislianggi I don't think they're too small, I just don't think they're the best fit out there. It's really not surprising though that it performs the way it does...the A340 is basically an A330 with two extra engines and no other modifications. That essentially increases the drag dramatically. They should have swept the wings back farther or like you said given it more powerful engines. The A345s and A346s do eat a lot of runway, but they perform MUCH better than the A342s and A343s.

@Boeing757200A I didn't think I needed to say that, but thanks for the adding that anyway. Meanwhile, my facts are straight. The A340-300 series essentially has the same wing (plus a modification to increase its strength). It has essentially the same fuselage, the same tail, the same cockpit, etc.) I don't appreciate the personal attack either.

@jetfreak4 A340-600s have taxi assist cams, a340 and a higher tail i believe.. a340.more wingspan..sorry I was tired when I posted that comment...
