@MTLtransitvideos then you would love SEPTA and Chicago CTA's New Flyers. Almost all of CTA's D40LF's have ZF transmissions and over 200 of SEPTA's are powered with the ZF transmission (I think they should have went to ZF from the get-go).
a lot of drivers think that it's a brand new bus when they overhauled it and put new seats and a new engine....but it originally had the dd50....the cummins makes it sound old school and it more so sounds like the older buses from the 80's....and just to keep you informed, this bus has a cummins now....it got overhauled
@Jayayess1190 it got overhauled recently......in fact 5809(2004 new flyer) has gotten a complete makeover.....with new inside lights to match the 2009-2010 new flyers, new seats, and a new engine and the numbers are thinner.....there are still some from batch 2 that have the dd50 zf transmission.....by the way 8075(2005 new flyer) that has just been freshly overhauled
There you go with the correct specification. And speaking of the New Flyers from the victory depots (yes that is the department who operated the route 112 that I ride as well) there are still a lot of Detroit Diesel powered bus there even though there are only a few number of theses buses have been overhauled. On my daily commute to DCCC, it depends on my luck for now to spot any 2004 Cummins powered D40LF
That sound of reductor looks like a Mercedes-Benz O305, O405 Family or a MAN SL200F from Portugal. Spectacular!

It's about time I hear the sound of a ZF in a New Flyer! It's usually hard to hear it (in most videos; except Santa Monica's L40LF).

The ZF Ecomat gearbox sounds great, but what I really like in this video is the hub reduction axles' sound! :D Great video!

That transmission that bus #5872 has is a ZF 6HP-592 transmission since it is a 2004 model equipped with that specification.
