whats the point of getting a SATA DVD Burner? It doesn't really matter what interface I use for a burner. Nowadays we have external hard drives, thumb drives, SSDs, and Hard Drive Enclosures. Not to mention most games really don't require a CD with No-cd patches. So I'm just gonna buy an IDE for three reasons: Cheaper and patience and minor uses. At least until blu ray burners become cheaper.

ok. i just bought a 22X Internal SATA DVD Burner Drive with LightScribe from dell. i have an xps 400. they said they were compatible, but when i tried to install it, none of the connections for the same. any ideas?
@foggspropst wow a year ago... but um if u haven't already you have to buy SATA interface power connector and signal connector then from there ??? but try its what i no

how do you know if you have a cd burner cause my windows vista have only one dvd and i dont know if its a cd burner or not. please reply quick..

because in this video, it is an IDE drive. yours is a Serial ATA drive, so you need different cords. try looking up install SATA dvd drive.
