  • I have the same one and it keeps saying error

  • Thanks for the guide

  • how come my Brother HL 2140 wont print colored images only gray?

  • @Dvizion08 its not a color printer

  • Just put tape over the sensors!

  • @DMB1985CA i agree rubbish shit. just take it outside and throw a rock at it, just take it up a high building and drop it, it gives me great pleasure when i see these get smashed up.

  • Thank you.....Enjoyed the music too. I am off to buy one this arvo from the Good Guys in Aussie land. So feel more confident after watching your Vid and being shown how to set it up.

    Thanks for that.

  • @mylillambs dont get it its a piece of rubbish.

  • Does anyone knows how to make it print wireless from a laptop? I have a print server which works well w/ few of my previous inkjet printers, but somehow it does NOT work w/ brother HL-2140 at all, not sure what’s wrong. Anyone knows how to fix it?

  • Love the video, but where did you get this unit for $40? The cheapest I can find is $119 (new). I got an iMac and my old printer (which I JUST bought last year) doesn't work with the Mac, so I researched and found this Brother which seems to be the best bet. But WHERE did you buy it this cheap? Thanks! :-)

  • @bellameezer Got it at Staples. It was $69.99 and there was a $30 rebate I think. But look around, you'll find them cheaper. Maybe in a month when the back to school stuff goes on sale the price may come back down. Good luck.

  • @bellameezer Oh this one is the wired one. Its not the wireless that's why its so cheap. It's 99.99 on Amazon WIRELESS.

  • @DMB1985CA I've never herd of anyone with a problem like that. You must have just got a bad unit. I would suggest taking the printer back to where you got it and getting a new one that way. Also, most debit cards you CAN use as credit. They just need that number so if you don't return it they can bill it to you.

  • how much did it cost and is it colour??

  • @agl1997 No, it is not color, and it was $49.99

  • how long does a toner last

  • Its been just over a year and I am still on the starter toner. It says i've printed 856 pages, and its still going.

  • warm up time is about 20 secons, right?

  • yep- its quick!

  • I am still using the starter toner too, and I've got already printed 1200 pages. (Mostly plain text).

  • Thanks for the video. It was more informative than the actual instructions for setting up the printer. :)

  • brother printers have their problems but not as good as a hp printer, even the lower end hps are crap.

  • my mums got a printer like that but its one the can print VERY fast..

  • Thanks for the great video, I need a good Laser for my Macbook, I have a HP, but they don't have Mac drivers as it has been discontinued. This one seems a little loud, but I have found great comments on it, so I think this video has helped me make up my mind, Brother, here we come.... Thanks again...

  • I have this printer, it's amazing. No problems to this date.

  • I picked this printer up as well. It blazed through printing a product catalog without a single hitch. My old HP used to bind up and eventually push the stack of paper onto the floor after around 10-15 pages. Very annoying.

  • just bought this printer from a German retailer. seems to be an excellent choice. No more paperjam or problems with ink catridges ;-)

  • Thanks for the video! I am replacing my HP P1006 and the HL-2140 seems to be the best pick at this point

  • whats the paper yield out of the box??

  • I'm not sure. You'd have to look it up.

  • I used many printers in the past and Brothers is the ones I never had paper jam problems. I had major paper jam problems with samsung and xerox printers...DO NOT buy these 2 brands!!!!

  • Mine same printer has some troble can u email me to help my is henry_random@hotmail,com it has error and drum. I dont know y.

  • Wow. thanks! I have the exact printer. ^_^

  • I was looking to buy either an HP, Samsung, Canon or Brother laser printer.

After having researched around, I decided for a Brother printer.

Your video helped me very much.

Great presentation, great music, thank you !

  • same! This vid influenced me to get the brother

  • awesome printer and awesome video!

  • Comment removed

  • stopwatch helps a lot

  • Brilliant video, nice editing. I've just ordered a HL-2170W which I think is exactly the same but with wireless connectivity. Dont need it as it will still be plugged into my usb!! But was on offer for same price as this one so thought I may as well as you never know! lol

  • in case you never figured it out, you rock the cartridge back and forth to evenly distribute the toner.

  • Thats what I thought it was for - I just thought it was funny so that is why I brought it up.

  • i have the same one small and easy to carry not big and bulky and its cheap as well 10

  • did you copy off the comment before you? you said like the same thing!

  • The hl-2140 is an awesome! printer...I have the same one and its small and compact, fast printing and very cheap!

  • i have the same printer but i was just wondering does anyone know how to take out the drum unit/toner out of the printer because i wanted to replace the ink but i can't seem to take out the drum unit

  • Open the FOUNT door on the until by pulling it down - then just PULL out the large toner unit. That is how you do it.

  • thanks for this vid, im looking at getting the same one

  • Do you like this printer?

  • yes

  • I have that same printer. Prints very fast and in good quality. You made a good choice.

  • i don't know why but i can't put the ink in.

  • Are you doing it the way I am doing it the video? Make sure your putting it in from the front, it is going in the right direction, and is pushed in all the way.

  • very instruccccctivvvv

    thanks a lot.

I was triyng to insert the toner from the back side!!!! went on line for ideas and... there you were!

  • Thanks! Glad I could help!

  • so...you never have to change the ink?

    what?

  • No, eventually you will have to change the "ink." We hardly ever printed things and we used to have an inkjet printer, and inside those ink cartridges is liquid ink and a sponge. By the time we would go to print something, the sponge would have hardened up and the ink would be gone, so therefore when we would go to print something, it wouldn't come out right, if at all. With toner (which is a powder) in laser printers, it won't dry up, so its good forever! (until is actually used up!)

  • Thanks for the video, since I just recently purchased this printer, very helpful
