That book couldn't have been about the money. Anybody who has read HD would know that to reveal what he did takes a lot of balls. When he released it, just like The Dirt, Motley wasn't in the news, if they had released these books during the height of all the Tom and Pam crap, then you might could say they were "cashing in". Nikki didn't need the money, I'm sure all of Motley made a pile on The Dirt. HD has influenced folks to stop taking drugs and regardless of Nikki's reasonings, that's good.

I love nikki sixx and i have read the heroin diaries but this definitely was about the money. 25% of the profits went to charity.. no matter how you spin it, if this was giving back to his fans and helping people it would be 100% of the profits to charity..

You can think what you want but nikki didn't have to give a dime to charity. Most people when writing such things only donate 5 %, so if your figure of 25 % is correct then that is a very large chunk of profit that went to Covenant House. Also contributions to addiction recovery/runaway kids didn't end with the book, he funded a music room at the house, spoke on Capital Hill about addiction and was at the house for thier Thanksgiving meal last year.

The idea that one cannot make a profit in some way while doing something that helps others is an empty argument, as is the notion that profit and personal fulfillment cannot coexist. I've read both books ( read The Dirt 4 times) but Herion Diaries was wayyyy more on personal level with Nikki. The book just so happend to come out when I was going through a rough time in life and helped me out tremendously. In my opinion, Nikki Sixx is an inspiration.

I read and reread Heroin Diaries and it was so captivating and hard to put down and it was so scary as well.

Imagine...being to stoned and still having the energy to write a journal. And being able to remember how he felt and did when he was in his worst state.

If you havent read this book-i really recommend it-cus it gives you a small peak of the life of a rockstar and that that life of living is not so glamorous as it seems.

The book is an awesome account of what Nikki went through with his addictions. It gives a straight forward story of where he came from and what becoming famous, or infamous with The Crue did to him. The amount of drugs,drink and decadent is unbelieveable, but totally true. It is a must read for Motley Crue fans and everyone else as well.
