Our country seems more divided on fiscal policy than social policy, so that candidate may have great success in changing our economy. So, if science proves that homosexuality is a result of biology, will you finally give this up? Or will you continue to chastise people for things out of their control?

Because you're so eager to go after homosexuals, I can't support your other great views, and I look at you as a crippling influence on how society perceives conservatism. Other great conservative ideas may come to our country, I pray for a presidential candidate that leans toward fiscal responsibility, but promotes rights for those whose circumstances are immutable (at least based on the truth I know about myself).

You don't make it easier. I agree with many Christian principles that you advocate for, since I am a devout Christian. But when you get in my shoes and live my uncomfortable life, you'd think different. Get to know a gay person like me, who practices the majority of Christian morals and all things that are morally accepted by a large portion of mainstream society, and you won't see an enemy who is waiting to destroy marriage or molest children.

An open letter to all those like THIS:

As a Christian Republican who yearns for a candidate that is strongly fiscally conservative and socially moderate, your organization limits conservative support. I'm also gay, I didn't ask to be, it's pretty hard in today's society, especially with those that morally oppose homosexuality. Why would anyone choose to be gay, having a harder life, the uncomfortable task of coming out to parents and friends? It's horrible.

If we want to know what a military with gays looks like, we simply need to look to our closest allies. Britain, Canada and Israel. Thank you for your astute comment. It seems that Sprigg and those of his ilk get so much face-time on the national news these days that it's easy to forget that, thankfully, they are in the minority in this country. Their brand of hate and intolerance is not Christian, no matter what they'd have us believe. Instead of raising millions of dollars to take away rights from their fellow citizens they should be using that money to help the disadvantaged, of which there are many!

My wife is from a very strict religious culture in Asia, yet gay people there are included and are treated with respect in every situation that I have seen. The children there seem much more well-rounded and happy than their American counterparts, and the adults are smiling and happy. I wonder whose families the FRC has been "studying."
