Didn't other affiliates have their own local versions? I vaguely remember a version airing on KPRC in Houston, before being replaced by DC Follies. Then again, I could barely stay up for Saturday Night Live back then.
But as a geography major and cartographer, I actually got the Manayunk reference, even though I have never been to Philly. In Houston, Stella probably would have been known as the "maneater from Montrose."
Damn it! America needs more late night movie shows like this. I'm happy Elvira is back on but we need another Joe Job Briggs or Psychotronic Cinema or Sinister Cinema! Shows like these made my childhood so much more entertaining.
Bwahahah I remember this well. This is where I first saw The Wicker Man. I expected schlock and then couldn't sleep. Fortunately this was Saturday night so I had a day to recover.
Great stuff. This is the definition of old-school late night television, before it was all beshitted with infomercials.
Thank you for posting! Man I loved this show. Of course I was so young. I had a hard time staying up. I thought she was way better than Elvira. Funny and likable. Where are you now Stella? Me miss you :-(
... that means that they expect me to do the research for them; they expect me to do their job?!! I can't wait until they send me a paycheck for doing their job!
..& that I can understand why it wouldn't be that popular bc not that many ppl ever saw it & so not that many ppl know that it exists.
I am feeding them the urls for the listings that this show has on Wikipedia & YT bc, apparently they expect the person who makes the request to supply them with the information that they supposedly need to verify the existence of whatever they add to their site...but, ...
This show is NOT listed on the imdb website. It should be since they have virtually everything ever produced...
I know that they have criteria for what they add to their website, like the existence of a movie/tv show/video game, etc., needs to be verifiable & all that; I am fighting with them right now to try and get this show listed on their site!
I've already explained to them that it was a locally run and produced television show from a local tv station in Philadelphia ...
hey, thanks for uploading. my girlfriend was telling me how she used to watch this show as a little girl, and this brought back lots of good memories for her.
@poopile This so a must see for me in elementary school. Of course I needed java to keep awake. I had a crush on the busty Stella. She was cool back then. I miss her.
She laughs like Ms. Foreman on That 70's Show...

Sad thing is, they obviously expected people to actually *watch* SNL in February 1986. At the time, no one was.
