T shirts should be folded like they do at the Gap etc. Leggings and capris can be folded as well. That's the way my laundry gives them back to me. All other clothes on hangers. I find that I need more shelf space than hanger space since I've learned this trick. Also, just keep the clothes you really love. I just donated about 3 bags of clothes to St. Vincent De Paul and sent one bag of clothes to the Dom. Rep. via a church mission. I have room to buy some new stuff now. Best.

Fold the shirts and organize them by color. Only hang your dresses, jeans and jackets on hangers. It makes it so much more organised and you get more of an idea how much clothes you have. I think it might be an American thing to hang t-shirts on hangers but if you try to fold them like I suggest it will be much better for your closet space. :-)
