I have the manual and dosbox version for this game, but is there a quick key list? The manual does a poor job of telling you which key controls what.
Friends, I have the AMIGA-500+ and 2000 Version of "Platinum Birds of Prey I Purchased LONG Ago in 1990"!! I will give it a try to Upload a Flgiht with Stereo Sound,Realistic Solid Aeronautics JetFighter Characheristisc in 2012. Untlil I get that Silly warning from Youtube.com....
This is the first flight sim I played that didn't have pyramids for mountains. It was the first sim (that I played) that gave a real sense of flying over an undulating landscape. Great stuff. And, it was from the makers of the first flight sim I ever played (Fighter Pilot on the Amstrad CPC).
@KesMonkey Not only no pyramid mountains , first game for me with powerlines , street lamps not to mention city building detail at that time was (and partly) is increadible !
@Blackjack174 I had this for the Amiga in early 1994 and was amazed at the immense detail and it only needed 1MB, which was quite amazing I thought. I played this for hours on end and never got bored with it, mainly because I was so intrigued by the detail, I would always discover a new piece. Not to mention the trains, MiG23s and IL76s and various structures. Does anyone ever recall the Gulf War supplement that came out a year later? The detail of this was also amazing.
Best flight sim ever, and the mission planner has never been beaten for ease of use, loved the way to would calc the turning circle of the aircraft at x airspeed so it was simplicity its self to create way-points and end up on a direct line for the enemy runway for a JP-233 run
I love this game, but I no longer have a DOS computer. What are the specs of the pc that you now play this on or do you use an old pc? If so, what specs for the old pc?
Whoa, haven't played this game in more than a decade! My first flight sim. Brings back many fond memories of playing the demo and doing things like trying to see how high I could get, or performing pretend bombing runs...I never did get the full game. Great vid!
This game looks horrible today but in the early 1990s we were just starting to transition from 8-bit computers such as C64 or Atari 800/130 to Amigas and such and back then visuals like this were considered breathtaking.
