i think Zook had the right formula in '06, just didn't apply it in time. but he made up for it in this game. i honestly think the big 10 is wide open this coming season. OSU will lose 2-3 (USC, Wisconsin and/or Illinois).

Agreed. In 2006, they played almost everyone close. 2005 was only a disaster because Zook was trying to work with Turner's recruits. I think Ohio State will lose 2-3 too, but I think one loss will be to Penn State, who will be running the same kind of offense thta Illinois ran last year. I see Illinois winning the Big 10, with OSU and PSU fighting it out for second. Michigan should finish 4th.

Lots of Big 10 teams are really good this year. Other divisions can suck on that. As usual though, Wisconsin is way overrated - they'll be lucky to be 6th in the big ten. It'll probably be Penn State, then Illinois, Ohio, and Northwestern all battling for second, then Michigan, then Wisconsin. Then Minnesota and Iowa battling for 7th... Then, I assume Purdue, Michigan State and Indiana will have their own battle to see who the worst is.

Right now I see Penn State going 12-0 and winning the NC, Illinois going 10-2 and winning the Rose Bowl, Ohio State going 9-3 and to the Capital One Bowl. Northwestern might go 9-3 this year, same with Wisconsin, I see Michigan being 7-5 this year, which would give them a better record than Minnesota in conference.

I also knew that Michigan would suck (but didn't see 3-9 coming, be honest, neither did you). This past year I picked Illinois to fall back into the pit of despair, Purdue to show signs of life, and the Big Ten to come down to Penn State, Iowa, and possibly Ohio State. Turned out that's EXACTLY who it was vying for it.

Well, it's actually a mix. But Zook's recruits look pretty good. The offense is amazing (the only team to score more than 17 on Penn State), but the defense is the weak point. I think Illinois will go 7-5 and have back to back winning seasons for the first time since 1999.

his offensive recruits yes..the only defensive recuits that play well are the dlinemen..but bussey, edwards, bellamy(sp?) and hardeman are terrible..especially edwards..i dont think he has a clue of whats going on around him..they miss miami alot though..but thats based off of what i saw in the osu game last year..so we dont really know how good he is.
