Mine was 27.9 and came standard with sport suspension. His didn't. I spank him every time by bus lengths. From a dig and on the highway. Now quit fuckin bitchin, hondas suck.
I can honestly say I like both cars as I have had both. The VR6 packs a lot more power and has more features but the Civic is way more reliable, has more potential, and is just more fun to drive.

I have a stock 95 golf 2.0 and I have 2 friends with honda civics , one with a hatchback cx with a 1.6 and the other with a civic se, also with a 1.6. I smoke em everytime, every gear on everyday even if they have cold air intakes!
@Skymann24 that also depends on the driver because I now have an SX4 with only a few mods and I stomped on a MKII turbo'ed Golf GTI in like every gear. I had a Civic with a 1.5 liter no-vtec engine with only a full head job, cam, intake, exhaust with stock manifold, new spark plugs with 8mm cables and some minor work on the stock ECU and I ran 14.9 at 93 miles per hour and I really stomped some VR6's in my time with only a 1.5 liter honda and with 4 doors. I really miss that car :(

Theres no replacement for displacement. unless you have a turbo. I love the exhaust note of a VR6 and the torque curve but dollar for dollar 1.8t is by far the best performance motor vw

@Boogiemanz Ja, VR6jes hebben een aantal problemen, eentje is, de vorm(VR), compacte 6 cilinder, maar voor zijn inhoud levert ie tamelijk weinig pk's en het gewicht, gewicht heeft nadeel in de bochten en bij het remmen maar door de 6 zuigers stampen ze harder(en dus koppel) dan bij een lichtgewicht viercilinder van Honda, beter gezegt, ik ben geen VR6 fan(behalve een Golf 4 R32) maar een Golf 3 met ABF motor is sneller met lichte tuning, niet alleen gewicht(Golf 3 met VR6 is 110 kilo zwaarder)

dude dont kid yourself. Like every model of every car there is a model with all the power options. ive owned hondas with power everything. As a matter of fact they were making hondas with power everything back in the 80s. Honda isnt crap, they get good gas mileage and last an extremely long time. Honda also makes very powerful 4 cylinder engines without having to make it a 2,6 liter.
well i know for a fact that the hondas of the late 80s early 90s (the age of the vw), not only did MOST hondas come without almost all these options but most of the ones on the vw were not available for years to come when vw had them standard. hondas view of power everything is still not the same as vw and wasnt back then. vw doesnt make a 2.6 never has its a 2.8. as for power they have power thats on par with others but torque is non-existent like i said, which is essential for normal driving

what my main point was that MOST yours was obviously an exceptionally loaded but MOST had nothing but power brakes, the disadvantage of the vw is its weight due to the extra stuff, because even the Si dont have alot of those options, where as a vr6 is going to have nearly every option available as part of the vr6 package. they are 2 cars marketed to 2 different markets, 1 cares about economy the other cares about comfort and convenience

ive never seen an si without the power options. the only exception would be an SI clone. The honda in this video is 96 and up and they had air bags and all that. people think that the newer hondas are light cars but they arent, i own a crx that weights 1900 pounds and with a b16 that sucker is way faster than some civic SI. Honda had put comfort and convenience in their cars but admittedly it isnt some Mercedes.
far from a benz even from a vw, hondas may have had SOME power options but did they have leather power heated seats? power heated mirrors? heated washer nozzles? rain sensing wipers? auto dimming rearview mirror? they are missing the finer things that make a car a notch above the rest, thats what makes vw some of the best bang for your buck, good power, decent fuel eco, not overly expensive, good build quality, many trim levels and options to choose

Well i don't know if YOU know enough about the vw's ? If you compare how long a vw stays on the road and a honda (for example) the vw is more reliable. Altough the japanese motors are good too. But The vw's are more solid then a plastic tuned up car. I had an CRX as first car and the only thing that kept going was the motor, the rest of the car just fell apart.
Now i own a 73' beetle and a vectra 2000 4x4 and a golf 2 and those are all german and better.

GSRs are fast and on wikipedia it says they were built to compete with the Golf VR6. I raced one and it was neck to neck till about half way threw 3rd gear and I left him. Vr6s are outdated now though. The 1.8Ts and 2.0Ts can make even more power. Its sad.

@Djmaanijak I have a mk4 jetta probably the heaviest 2.0 you can buy bone stock and im after handing out my share of wooppin's to 1.6's new and old. Theres no replacement for displacement. unless you have a turbo. I love the exhaust note of a VR6 and the torque curve but dollar for dollar 1.8t is by far the best performance motor vw

It's funny how ppl get upset by the fact that a VW VR6 stomped on a B16 Si. Big deal, the Si lost because the VW had all the advantages. Stock for stock the VW will win all day but put some money on both and I can assure you that the Honda will rape the VW because the B-series is a much better mod-friendly than the VR6 and the civic is much lighter, so stop this bullshit and let bygones be bygones.

Those VR6's are no joke but honestly mod for mod I doesn't have anything to look comparing with just a 1.6 liter with a lot of potential. I had a friend with a GTi VR6 Turbo/100 shot only breaking 11's, that's sad. And the transmision broke all the time, that's even more sad.

@Boogiemanz Ja, VR6jes hebben een aantal problemen, eentje is, de vorm(VR), compacte 6 cilinder, maar voor zijn inhoud levert ie tamelijk weinig pk's en het gewicht, gewicht heeft nadeel in de bochten en bij het remmen maar door de 6 zuigers stampen ze harder(en dus koppel) dan bij een lichtgewicht viercilinder van Honda, beter gezegt, ik ben geen VR6 fan(behalve een Golf 4 R32) maar een Golf 3 met ABF motor is sneller met lichte tuning, niet alleen gewicht(Golf 3 met VR6 is 110 kilo zwaarder)

As a matter of fact they were making hondas with power everything back in the 80s. Honda isnt crap, they get good gas mileage and last an extremely long time. Honda also makes very powerful 4 cylinder engines without having to make it a 2,6 liter.

well i know for a fact that the hondas of the late 80s early 90s (the age of the vw), not only did MOST hondas come without almost all these options but most of the ones on the vw were not available for years to come when vw had them standard. hondas view of power everything is still not the same as vw and wasnt back then. vw doesnt make a 2.6 never has its a 2.8. as for power they have power thats on par with others but torque is non-existent like i said, which is essential for normal driving

what my main point was that MOST yours was obviously an exceptionally loaded but MOST had nothing but power brakes, the disadvantage of the vw is its weight due to the extra stuff, because even the Si dont have alot of those options, where as a vr6 is going to have nearly every option available as part of the vr6 package. they are 2 cars marketed to 2 different markets, 1 cares about economy the other cares about comfort and convenience

ive never seen an si without the power options. the only exception would be an SI clone. The honda in this video is 96 and up and they had air bags and all that. people think that the newer hondas are light cars but they arent, i own a crx that weights 1900 pounds and with a b16 that sucker is way faster than some civic SI. Honda had put comfort and convenience in their cars but admittedly it isnt some Mercedes.

far from a benz even from a vw, hondas may have had SOME power options but did they have leather power heated seats? power heated mirrors? heated washer nozzles? rain sensing wipers? auto dimming rearview mirror? they are missing the finer things that make a car a notch above the rest, thats what makes vw some of the best bang for your buck, good power, decent fuel eco, not overly expensive, good build quality, many trim levels and options to choose

Well i don't know if YOU know enough about the vw's ? If you compare how long a vw stays on the road and a honda (for example) the vw is more reliable. Altough the japanese motors are good too. But The vw's are more solid then a plastic tuned up car. I had an CRX as first car and the only thing that kept going was the motor, the rest of the car just fell apart.
Now i own a 73' beetle and a vectra 2000 4x4 and a golf 2 and those are all german and better.

GSRs are fast and on wikipedia it says they were built to compete with the Golf VR6. I raced one and it was neck to neck till about half way threw 3rd gear and I left him. Vr6s are outdated now though. The 1.8Ts and 2.0Ts can make even more power. Its sad.

you two are both retarded. numba1netsfan no shit a civic lost to a vr6, they run in a whole different league. and theVtieg6, a civic si with a b16 aint shit. my mklll runs side by side with an si. and a type r would blow both of those cars away. that gti wasn't scooting as fast as a type R. i am not a honda fan but i will admit this much, type R isn't something to laugh at.

i seriously enjoy wiping the smile off vr6 owners' faces in my 'little' 1.6. honda do not need a big engine to make a car fast. my 1.6 has 185 bhp and a 0-60 of 5.7 which leaves heavy-ass vw's on the straight and out of corners and thats on a standard n/a engine. look-up ek9 type r if you want to see a fast car

Si Civic weighs 1040kg 185bhp
Elise weighs 860kg 189 bhp
Civic has a FF layout but the Elise has MR so it has a big traction advantage.
Civic is based on a hatchback and Elise was designed for performance in mind.
So explain to me why you compared those two?

it wanst modded and yea the 4 cyl is NA but its got vtec which from what I hear from alot of honda people is awesome but proven wrong in this vid the VR6 was stock it had no turbo and didnt even sound like it had an intake which doesnt make a difference anyway in vr6s just stop

I promise you 100% that Golf was modified. That Golf was moving faster than a Type R would. Ive raced VR6s before and theres not much difference between my car and a VR6.
