all he is talking about is a new technology ...a utopia we as humans have always been trying to get ..and because of this we created the system of goverment because we as humans are lazy and created this system to tell us what to do so we dont have to think about it..goverment is just another piece of technology we think is good and eventually destroys us it rebels like lucifer towards his creator
@vs127739 Already living this idea?? Not even close! Right now our lives are ROBBED from us by a system that forces us to spend most of our lives working for someone else, worrying about paper money and numbers in bank computers. This is modern slavery. We are owned and we willingly accept this. This needs to change. Youtube search "Zeitgeist Addendum" and "Where are we going peter joseph"
It sounds like a utopia/communism community. Only highly educated individuals would see the reasoning behind this, the rest would ignore it or look down upon it.
this is old talk. It is has already been done (in England I think, not sure). It further developped into the communism. Ans sincerely no way it can work: there are people you hate, things you want... human is like this. No one can change the human nature/ fear... We could improve things: with more counterpowers, smallers scales, strict rules, birth control, leader facing responsabilities (& not hidden behind computer screens) + smaller groups (not huge cities where no one care about anyone)...
Jack is an awesome cool guy, I live in the same town as him, and he is genuine and real to his visions. he is a nice guy - he may not have all the answers but he is trying - we should all try as hard as Jack.....
reed, like his fawning nitwits posting here...is a fool...his ideas have been implimented time and again throughout history...and miserably failed each time...
get a clue, you fuckin' starry eyed utopian nitwits...
then get a job...
and read Atlas Shrugged...if you know how to read...
As much as I would like to see what he is talking about happen, it never will. Read Sir Thomas More's "Utopia." He touches on this subject better than anyone else in history has.
Psycarne, I agree. People are always saying that it's human nature to be greedy, but I believe that people do and will act for the Highest Good of the planet if they can just see and have the opportunity to participate in a system that is based on that concept of the Highest Good For All. In the process they will also discover that they can have lives filled with more abundance on all levels.
'People are greedy'. That must be why people join the Fire brigade, putting thier lives at risk for other people for bad pay.
People are not inherently 'greedy' or 'altruistic', people operate within the system they live in. If democracy is systemic in that system the means to exploit others through greed is eliminated.
A society of democratic control of resources and property must be created for the survival of the human race.
if you want to see greedy...look at the able bodied who get their sustenance through subsidisation...and that's basically what reed is talking about...do you really think fools like him have 'discovered' some new way?
Yes, some are greedy. But others know that happiness lies in the quality of their relationships--not the amount of crap they own. I'm greedy in that I want more free time--more time with my family, to play, and travel. That's why I can't wait to live in this type of community. My basic needs will be met with much less financial input, so that I can have more free time--AND have access to fancy stuff like pools, boats, tennis courts, etc. (I don't care if I own it, if I can use it!).
That's right. I wouldn't put a number on it - but that's great and optimistic. I don't know the status of Curitiba, Brazil right now but they did pretty well. So did the Hopi people (for instance) for a long time. The time's come! Thanks.
The community he describes is our hunter gatherer ancestors and the remote few
who remain untouched by our greed.
Rapid evolution is our only hope.

Dear Jack Reed,
Please let me know when you get your group of people ready.
I would love to be a part of it.
Finally, somebody is voicing these ideas.
:)

Make your own community. Don't wait for someone else to build provisions for you.

Better yet read "Ecotopia" because I tell you now if we don't implement this way of life now, we have no tomorrow, I.E. we are screwed!

Ahaha that sounds familiar buddy. The human mind can't be free as long as it's in a paradigm, that's why everyone must be personally independent.

he's got the idea, but these people called humans are too hard to control

So is he promoting communism on a small scale? I think he forgets that people are greedy.
