Wow! Such an exhilarating performance Jeff! I really enjoyed watching it. What a fantastic job for putting together this very touching video, and what a great way to show your support and sensitivity in these trying times. Very good work indeed!
@chiechieness Thanks for watching, Chiechieness! Indeed, these are trying times. The important thing is we help each other in whatever way we can. Please spread the love!
Nice realisation Jeff !... Congrats for this nice idea and this big work.
I suppose you recorded the sound of another acoustic piano than the grand piano we can see here... I would prefer this one, but you certainly had good reasons for that... Anyway, I really enjoyed your video very much.
I can't see any Guinness coaster on your piano (no place for it, I'm affraid... lol !). Too bad cause I 'd like to propose to share a cool one with you !
@Mynoufou Thanks, Cyrille! Actually, I only have one acoustic piano, the Yamaha grand you see in the video. It was my first time to use FCP to put all the elements together (multiple shots, pictures, clips, orchestral accompaniment, etc.) so syncing them all was hit and miss. And no, there's no Guinness coaster on my piano. It would drive me crazy if I spilled beer on a fortissimo passage. LOL! Thanks sir for watching!
@fluterampal Thank you very much, Sir Ray! This will be the closest I will ever get to play with an "orchestra" but more importantly, I hope that this message-bundled music would drive home the point that Japan needs help in whatever shape or form.
@fluterampal Thanks for the suggestion! In fact, that's what I used (music minus one of SS2) for the orchestral backing in this video! I have several of them already but I felt as if I'm accompanying the orchestra rather than the other way around. But that's ok. It's exhilarating!
@rpcjt In a way, this video is a tribute to you, Dr. Ingrid Sala Santamaria, for giving my fingers and my soul the wings to fly and transcend the drudgery of my everyday existence through piano music. You are a true inspiration to me! Thank you for showing me the way.
@OldRabit Thanks so much, Annie and family! There's nothing more rewarding than funneling one's "gift" (if I have such) to spread an important message across. I'm honored that you took the time to watch this video.
Just sharing this message from my Japanese friend Ikuya (sent through email):
Wow, I got stunned by your performance, so serene and tense. I highly appreciate your thought towards us. We have to move forward however serious this catastrophe has been and will be for us. Jeff, I really thank you for this music clip.
@batoattack Thanks so much for your kind words! It's been my ambition to learn and play this concerto, at least the first movement, but there had been no occasion to perform. I would have to hire a second pianist, a quartet or a full orchestra for the other part. Luckily, I have the "minus one" version of the concerto. It came in handy! (Is this Carlo by the way?)
@kimchie8eng Japan is a beautiful country. I have no doubt in my mind that they will get pass this... but every help counts. Thanks again for watching!
Amazing job! Just brilliant, thumbs up!!!
