You guys should be thankful EVERY DAY for having a guy like Ron Paul. In MY country, we don't have right-wing parties. We have two left-wings, and people think there's NO other option other than communism. Which a lot of them support. That's why Brazil is such a shit-hole. I wish Ron Paul would come here and save us, but he's truly one of a kind.
Don't sell your freedom like we involuntarily did. Listen to Ron.
You just need to see the positive aura around this man to see you can trust him! Great man, but he should stop dithering about 911 and accept the truth, though I'm sure he knows it?
10% own 90% of US wealth. the usual excuse is that they invest in the economy, create jobs, give to charity, etc. if this were so they would not own 90%. put simply if you have ten cents and ten people one of them takes nine cents and the others get to share a penny. anyone who thinks that is appropriate is rich or to damn stupid to know better. politicians (paul included) and the media protect these theives. the wealthy are destroying this country.
I believe there are times; like now, when the gov't should make investments to create jobs, but this gov't is not doing this. If we had spent 13 billion dollars a month for the past ten years in America rather than Iraq; we could have created a vaccum tube, supersonic magnetic train system spanning coast to coast. This would not only create jobs in construction/tunneling; it would make NYC, DC, San Francisco, Seattle, New Orleans, etc. an hour away from anywhere (in the US).
A republic is always doomed to become a corrupt bureaucratic mess. Look at historic Athens or even the Roman Republic before the Roman Empire. We Americans will suffer the same fate unless we change our form of government and abolish the U.S. Constitution alltogether.
@InWeedWeTrust420 Even the board of directors of the Federal Reserve invoke the Constitution of the United States at times. They know they live in a democracy so they are as free as any person to lie, cheat and steal unlike in a feudal aristocracy where they could be shut down for their actions by the ruling class. Just as they say a family needs a father, a civilization needs a head of state above party politics.
its called your insane total free market ideas failed
they lead to the suffering of millions
and continue to cause suffering right now
as ron paul sits on his ass getting government healthcare and benefits from being a congressman, while feeding you his insane views from the 19th century
Yeah i was going to say it can't be helped. we can thank the department of education. But hey if it makes you feel better i am 25 and know all about Austrian economics = D
The two people i would like to see win the republican presidetnial primary is either Ron Paul or Indiana's gov Mitch Daniels. Both are Strong free market people and both would be great as president. I just hope one of them win.
Texas is the greatest state in the union because of this man. If every state had this man at the helm there would NEVER be a recession ever. It's simple economics.
@manmanguy actually there would be dips and all, but it is natural. Ron Paul has stated this. What is the issue is the severity of the dips are magnified by idiotic politician and government intervention and corrupt practices.
It's amazing but every single day I have to argue with massively hard headed young 20 something year-olds about basic economics like what Ron talks about here. It is very depressing but many of them are completely convinced that only government can resolve these problems. They don't know Austrian economics.
Congratulations communist university professors. You did your job, you destroyed the greatest and most free nation that man has ever devised. I hope to see you hung at a gallows for it.
@kmg501 my friend if we cant vote them out with the ballot box, me and you will see a revolution and in the end they all will hang in public square...they won't win if we all band together ...soon as they come for the guns like they are already doing you know it's time.
@kmg501 There's still hope for the twenty somethings, lol, i'm one of them and I know better than to trust our government's fiscal policies and practices, I learned that two years ago when i was still a teenager, it really comes down to being motivated to doing your own research, and not accepting anything as a given, especially not from our government. Skepticism isn't always a bad thing, just know not to act without rationality.
I sure hope so, but do us all a favor, help educate your peers. We are ship that is already 3/4 of the way underwater. We don't have any time left to waste. I am hopeful that we will get some positive political direction in less than a month but it is hyper critical to realize that the most important elections are actually your state elections. Our best shot is taking back state governments with real constitutionalists.
@kmg501 I'm in the 20 something group and I do think it is wrong to seek the government to fix problems for me. The government is a bunch of bureaucrats that like to push paper and really doesn't know much beyond that. The government has gotten too large and I do think right now we have way too many laws to govern people as a whole.
I arguing for economics too, taking micro and took macro and constantly do argue for free market with hard headed 20 year olds aswell. Don't label us as all commies cuz some of us are on ur side =P
@kmg501 I am studying economics and finance in an English University in Bulgaria, and half my professors are ex socialist members of parties of this country or the EU commission. I am the only student that understands the misleading information they are teaching and have stood up to the BS they are spreading. I ask very simple questions about low interest rates, cause of the boom and the collapse and they have blank faces when they hear the truth and start stuttering like Bernanke...
Good for you mate, keep up the good work. It's odd though that some people in Eastern Bloc countries still suffer from that old statist mindset when they suffered so much for it.
I have heard a great many interviews with older people who escaped the Eastern Bloc before the collapse of the USSR. Their stories really need to be heard by contemporaries. To hear them is to understand the horrors.
Speech by Yuri N. Maltsev at a recent Mises convention.
@xkeltoix You are free to disagree with dr. Ron Paul as everyone in the free world is, but calling him "stupid" only shows who of you two is actually stupid and ucovers you as uworthy of any discussion. Think about it. Are you smarter than mr. Ron Paul?
@xkeltoix Not true. Just because we remove regulations does not mean we have to work in horrible conditions. I think most people would agree that unions, at one point, served a very important role in shaping a humane working environment. Now? Not so much.
@xkeltoix Free markets will decrease your wages. But they will also decrease commodities and assets as well. You will be wealthier as your standard of living increases.
@EMPIRE0FLIES before any *possible*(not inevitable) raise occurs a drop must first happen.
unregulated markets only really work if everyone owns a farm. As for a modern technological society where most of the technology came from research in the public sector, it just doesnt cut it.
@darkr0astedblend There is absolutely no market mechanism that makes a productive worker earn more. What you are talking about is pure fantasy. A corporation can very well, and often does give you a pat on the back and thats it. especially if youre doing production work or working class jobs.
Nope, the progressive era is why we have our standards of living. Until the progressive era forced regulations and union protections much of the US lived in poverty. Capitalism has never helped.
@xkeltoix Of course it does. That's why people moved from the fields to "sweat shops". Makes you wonder what kind of conditions they were living in before that.
A corporation, that isn't protected by the state, has competition. That competition includes wage competition so to hire the best workers and keep them.
What regulations and unions do, is keeping that competition away. Ultimately this creates artificial unemployment.
@darkr0astedblend And of course, if you have a lack of offer (which is the unions job), there is higher wages, and capital is concentrated on those protected individuals. But, what you don't see is the other side of the coin, the unemployed or those that end up working in McDonalds. Jobs that would help those less literate, like teenagers.
Free market became the freedom to effectuate slavery elsewhere.
America the wealthiest nation world wide …. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. Well, this big mouth attitude we better now put in the dream museum, since those Chinese guys own effectively everything.
@TerrierBram We own the business, and they supply the workers. And actually we are really leaving china recently. As they fade away from communism they gain more rights and are raising minimum wage. India is the next place our products are going to say they are from.
@TerrierBram Where did i say I am free? I said American owns the business and the factories are located in China and more are moving into India. Seriously, read the comment before you try to troll it.
Slavery and free markets are different subjects and for you to use it as a fear tactic it shows how you lack an intellectual rebuttal to the concept of economic freedom.
@TerrierBram ... China (like us) will require a major civil war before they can truly develop a national identity and a level of freedom that will allow them 2 truly become the world's most successful country. Dont forget who still runs the show over there
