A friend of mine is a Drum afficienado..cooked three different kinds of fish for a friend who ate them all (unidntified previously). His comment afterward was" "I don't know what kind of fish this is but from now on it's my favorite". He almost died of shock to hear he just ate Sheephead, which he 'hated' for no legitimate reason.
Most folks feel the same about SHEEPHEADS [aka: Fresh Wayer Drum]. I've always heard guys bitch about catching them; throwing into the bushes, stamping on them, etc. Guess what? Filet them, remove the blood line and prepare it properly and you have one of the most delicious tasting fish there is.
Yup...'some people DO eat the crap...err...CARP'...afficienados delicasy. Glad you threw it back in for chance of another fisherman catching it and enjoying the same exciting experience you had.
WHY treat carp as garbage? What if some Amazon grabbed you by the scuff of the neck...beat the heck out of you and tossed you into a dumpster just because he didn't like your looks? Think about it.
Nothing wrong with that carp strange that it went for a swim bait they don't take moving baits as arule over here ! mate you really craned that fish in thought you were going to snap your rod at one point nice fish : )
thats so weak we catch those like crazy that size all the time we can walk 15 minutes to where we can catch those
