They just started calling everything G-Style back in 2007 as Slick started to create something new and put a name to it. Do some research, wavemasters are as old as the Boppin Crew, which is way older than any of these newschool dancers, and just as old as the bygone EB's..

Look man, I respect boog and ppl who can do it right-but there's something about the majority (not all) boog poppers out there that just have an ego so huge just cuz they know the judges still want boog, cuz most of the og's did boog and promoted it. I am a popper-been for 5 years now. I understand that gstyle crew members here weren't as active as they usually are, but they do get down-I believe they just deserved more credit for originality.
It's what the judges want. I have seen boogs go to G-style territory and they have LOST. There's still that biased zone that goes around. Mr. Animation and Suga Pop when they were in Air Force Krew had hard, gangster hits. To be honest with you: I have never heard of Slick Dogg until around 2007. Throughout the years, I have heard of Wigs, The Electric Boogs, Animation, Boog Shrimp, Mr. Re, and just the locals on my side. G-Style = since 2000. EBs = early 1970s. :-/

I guess it makes sense that a group that wanted public recognition would have a lot of footage to show for it, and g-style seemed to be more underground. Both styles are great and none is fundamentally superior. I like to keep an open mind-though in my opinion, g-style should have more recognition.
I know that boog is hard-took some classes so as to not remain close-minded. However, after classes and experimenting I am more inclined to creating and maintaining originality while retaining fundamentals. Look at Mixed Martial Arts-does one fighting style alone win anymore? No-a collaboration of ideas and styles does to create the optimal situation. Just how I think of things. Bsides the point-I think egos were too large here.

Breeze Lee beat Tempo yesterday with fair judges, Frantick was judging. Even Frantick voted for Breeze Lee. Breeze Lee is no joke, I was his first teacher for a year doing private lessons. Im not taking credit for his win...he has worked hard to get to his level now....but just pointing out that Slick Dogg needs to chill with "hyping" his own crew to be "the best in the world". I dunno if you know, but there was a lot of aggression because of a dispute beforehand that went on for months, and as poppers, this is how they decide it. They battle. Alot of people should talk to the old guys instead of believing what they read on the internet.. Slick Dogg and his crew were popping before JRock was even born.. They just started calling everything G-Style back in 2007 as Slick started to create something new and put a name to it. Do some research, wavemasters are as old as the Boppin Crew, which is way older than any of these newschool dancers, and just as old as the bygone EB's..

Why didn't G-style show up? That's right: they were "underground". As history has been shown, underground NEVER gets recognized (::especially:: pre-internet era). Look man, I respect boog and ppl who can do it right-but there's something about the majority (not all) boog poppers out there that just have an ego so huge just cuz they know the judges still want boog, cuz most of the og's did boog and promoted it. I am a popper-been for 5 years now. I understand that gstyle crew members here weren't as active as they usually are, but they do get down-I believe they just deserved more credit for originality.

It's what the judges want. I have seen boogs go to G-style territory and they have LOST. There's still that biased zone that goes around. Now I can side... but in the end, it will all amount to nothing. I have seen times change since I started in 1997 and believe me, it's for the better and worse. (CONT pt.2 3-15)

Mr. Animation and Suga Pop when they were in Air Force Krew had hard, gangster hits. To be honest with you: I have never heard of Slick Dogg until around 2007. Throughout the years, I have heard of Wigs, The Electric Boogs, Animation, Boog Shrimp, Mr. Re, and just the locals on my side. G-Style = since 2000. EBs = early 1970s. :-/

I guess it makes sense that a group that wanted public recognition would have a lot of footage to show for it, and g-style seemed to be more underground. Both styles are great and none is fundamentally superior. I like to keep an open mind-though in my opinion, g-style should have more recognition.

However, after classes and experimenting I am more inclined to creating and maintaining originality while retaining fundamentals. Look at Mixed Martial Arts-does one fighting style alone win anymore? No-a collaboration of ideas and styles does to create the optimal situation. Just how I think of things. Bsides the point-I think egos were too large here.

The more I watch it, the more I notice that Jazzy isn't actually as bad as I first thought him to be. In fact, his take on Boogaloo is sick!!!! Breeze Lee beat Tempo yesterday with fair judges, Frantick was judging. Even Frantick voted for Breeze Lee. Breeze Lee is no joke, I was his first teacher for a year doing private lessons. Im not taking credit for his win...he has worked hard to get to his level now....but just pointing out that Slick Dogg needs to chill with "hyping" his own crew to be "the best in the world". Saying Tempo can beat Popin Pete when you cant even beat Breeze Lee with your own crew judging. Reality Check.

also, I want to give Tempo credit for entering a battle and putting his skills on the line. That took heart, considering how many people want to smoke him right now.... and Im sure he was under a lot of pressure to "live up" to the hype. If Slick Dogg tries to give him shit for entering and losing, or Frantick voting for Breeze Lee, ignore him. He's only worried about losing the steam he has built up. 2. Leg work? Everyone has mimicked Jazzy's boogaloo leg work, but
how many can mimic Slick Dogg? Goes to show what he does isn't easy.
I would suggest you to make a clip mimicking Slick, you can see JRock failed
at doing that in the clip.

1. if u cant see that hes faking a hit by bouncing his whole body then u dont know hitting 101. hitting should be muscle control, not a jerk, hes executing minimal muscle control & making it look like "banging" by jerking his body. NO GOOD.
2. slick has NO leg work. he does simple shuffles/pivots. other than that, literally no leg work-at all. show me leg work in that clip,thanks.

@felonycharge if you need any examples from the clip i can provide. also, i should mention slick doesn't catch any breakdowns in the music or anything...very simple musicality, just riding the "top" beats...i assume that this is because he's doing sets at times. for example, at 1:36 that vocal breakdown comes in...almost any dancer would adjust their movement to do some sort of e
