It's a single gas flame about an 1 1/2 inches long. (about 1/200th what a gas grill puts out when BBQing) So, no, I would not say it is "TERRIBLE for the Ozone layer". CO2 acts as an insolator in the atmosphere, trapping UV rays that usually reflect off the polar ice caps and back into space, heating the planet. Combine that with all the CFCs put out in the last 30 years, which react with ozone turning it to oxygen, more UV rays are getting in, and less out. There's grade 10 science for you, pay attention.

we need one of these machines-we are plagued by midgys all summer long & they seem to be getting worse! it makes the garden offlimits-i,m going to try one of these machines-sick of covering myself in citronella,which doesnt really work,it just makes you sticky & the midges get stuck on yr skin-yuk!
Where can i buy one of these units. currently, i am using one of those electric bug zappers, but i have been told that these work better. I live in south Texas where hurricane dolly hit and let me tell you....we are in a mosquito war right now.
..then they die from dehydration... So far this year I have killed approx 60,000 mosquitoes with this unit. My children can enjoy our backyard. I suggest you go make some lemonade with your juice, or maybe you could paint a big lemon and put it in your backyard??? Let me know how that works for you.
I live in a woodsy area by a swamp and this makes all the difference of enjoying the backyard in the summer or not enjoying the backyard in the summer. It's no fun to put deet or other bug repellent on when it's warm and humid out. It's better if the skeeters are not around in the first place.
