I have the 1 hp grinder and it had that stupid guard welded on. I cut it off. I see they now make it removable. I would not let a child use it so i am not worried about some fingers down there.

My mother moved and left me with a EliteProGrinderStainless-Steel­MeatGrinder. I havent used it yet and was thinking about selling it. But I've started to get into cooking more and doing it on a budget. Would buying big chucks of meat and grinding it, then putting them all in freezer bags for ground meat save me money? Like whevrr the cost of these chucks, the amount of meat I would get is better than buying already grounded meat? food already prepared 4 u cost more. So maybe i need to do this?

@skullcrusher301 9 nothing is ever perfect. only thing i dont like is the guard over the feed on the feed pan but they have to put it the because the throat of the grinder is so large. Too easy for some body, like Dee D Dee's, to put their hands down in it.

I went through to cheaper models, not Cabelas brand, before breaking down and spending the money for quality. If you go with the cabelas grinder he will love it.
