@jglaser hey bro I didn't know you played with chick. That's outstanding. I know for me even knowing I can play I'd be sweatin every head. His stuff is really tough to remember. You sound great!!!

hola jamie exelente cancion, rumble es a good song if your work have guitar player is very good, the final of song with keyboard, bass and guitar is sublime progression.
Was watching a tiki video or two when I came across this one.
Personally, I think that one of the ways you can tell a great player is by NOT noticing it's his first gig with the band. I DID NOT notice! Great playing and great tone!
Man - you were READING that stuff live on stage with Chick, John and Dave Weckl??
Astounding - what a guy!!! If I even dreamt I had done that I would wake up and apologize!! I remember you best with Jean luc way back..but CCEB isnt a bad name on your CV either:)
You are a great player Jamie - I didnt even realise you played with the elektric band..you have mixed with some of the very best musicians (what the hell was John P doing at the start of this performance though??)
Does anybody have whole "Live Under The Sky '86" DVD? At the beginning of it, during the introduction of musicians, a crazy solo from "King Cockroach" is heard. I think it is breath-taking but can't find the whole song anywhere. You know something about this?
Yes, I know there is only one song on the DVD by Elektric Band - "Rumble". But I'm talking about the first 30 seconds or so on the DVD, when slideshow of musicians is shown, their introduction, that is. The background music seems to be "King Cockroach". In my DVD version (which is 42 min long), the first 30 seconds is slideshow of musicians. Oh, if that was you playing that solo from "King Cockroach"... I must say that is the best guitar solo I have ever heard! No kidding. And one of my favourite songs, as well. You rock! Thanks for the great music. Greetings from Serbia...
This is a Great Video Jamie, you and chick Corea look the best dressed their,I gather the 80's were Fond Memories for you,you play with heart and soul my friend 5000 stars*****+
Awesome Jamie. I really like your interpretation. Excuse my lack of guitar knowledge, but I think this track really benefits from, the reverb/echo effect on your playing.
wow you play with chick.just lik Al Di meola. im 21 now and the others in my class dosent know about jazz rock musick. the know about hip hop and that stuff. wich soloes do you played on on the album a taste for person?
Scott played before me, I played with him a year and a little more, then Frank Gambale took over for me while I was doing Seinfeld and 10 other TV shows. I didnt know Carlos played with them...
I found out about Carlos Rios when I read the credits on my cassette tape (hahaha, obsolete technology). I just saw that "Live Under the Sky" sign that read 1986. I also noticed you playing pizzicato with a short delay -- I don't recall that in the recording -- sounds nice!
wow, you guys were extremely good. i have a washburn x10 guitar, and i can play some pretty good music up on my channel, but i need advice on cool techno stuff and solos likeyou were playing. do you have any good quick beginner tips i can use?
yes..study music theory, learn how to read music, study hard. I graduated Berklee College of Music...that helped get me ready for challenging performaces such as this.
I just picked up the mad hatter record on vinyl at the Old School Record Shop in Forest park, Illinois. it was great to actually find a record store with devoted music fans working and combing through records. Something we're missing sorely today. "The Cult of the Amateur. How today's internet is killing our culture." by Andrew Keen, addresses how youtube is hijacking our music. Die myspace and die google. die wikipedia! die iTunes!
and there are lots of us in the music business who are benefitting greatly from youtube etc. Now the whole world can see, hear and enjoy music they would have to try to find in a sea of records. Thanks for commenting here.
lol, i knew it was back in the 80's since I saw the calculator watch. Great playing by the way!!!!! This is when smooth jazz had taste. I a straight-ahead aficionado but I enjoyed a lot this song. I guess I like the early fusion jazz.
omg!!!you're the guitar player of the band!!!!!!omg!!!woooooooooow!!!!sorry i'm not english...i don't know very well how to express my approvation for you and your band!!!anyway awesome!!!!
I'm a drummer, so I can't really use all the right terms when it comes to guitar-related stuff. But man do I love your style and sound! Did you get to play some material from the release that followed (Light years), as well? And did Chick ever force you do the robot stance during the intro? You've earned your spot in music history Mr. Glaser! :). P.S. Loved you practicing video as well. Regards, Jonas.
Wow, all these wonderful comments. I think that you know how inspirational your playing is just from the reactions here. I'll just add my little comment. It's overwhelming.
Thank you very much for visiting. Its been a long time since Ive played this kind of music. I produce and arrange music for TV and pop artosts now. I of course hold a special place in my heart for jazz-fusion and my wonderful days with the people that made fusion so special!!
Hello, Jamie. Thanks for visiting my website. On youtube there´s some tunes specially for the piano solo, but I´m recording my first Jazz CD, with great musicians, and I hope it will be available at the end of the year. The title is "The Quest for Perfection". Kind of experimental/free jazz/ brazilian fusion. I hope you´ll enjoy... I´m so glad that I knew and admired you before even talking to you... thanks! All the best, my friend!
I love this freaking video man - I loved performing this song for my recital - I think I've played over half of the songs in the first Elektric band album!
Amazing!!I didn`t know this was up here!!Killer tone again!!.I would love to hear you playing King Cockroach or Got a Match?.Thanks for sharing your videos. All the best.

Oh, if that was you playing that solo from "King Cockroach"... I must say that is the best guitar solo I have ever heard! No kidding. And one of my favourite songs, as well. You rock! Thanks for the great music. Greetings from Serbia...

Awesome Jamie. I really like your interpretation. Excuse my lack of guitar knowledge, but I think this track really benefits from, the reverb/echo effect on your playing.

Hi, Jamie, just to bug you a sec. In terms of chronology, who was first to play with CCEB: you, Carlos Rios, or Scott Henderson?
coolweasel 3 years ago
Scott played before me, I played with him a year and a little more, then Frank Gambale took over for me while I was doing Seinfeld and 10 other TV shows. I didnt know Carlos played with them...
Carlos kicks butt
thanks
Jamie
jglaser333 3 years ago
I found out about Carlos Rios when I read the credits on my cassette tape (hahaha, obsolete technology). I just saw that "Live Under the Sky" sign that read 1986. I also noticed you playing pizzicato with a short delay -- I don't recall that in the recording -- sounds nice!
coolweasel 3 years ago
wow, you guys were extremely good. i have a washburn x10 guitar, and i can play some pretty good music up on my channel, but i need advice on cool techno stuff and solos likeyou were playing. do you have any good quick beginner tips i can use?
MaplerDudeIsPwnage 3 years ago
yes..study music theory, learn how to read music, study hard. I graduated Berklee College of Music...that helped get me ready for challenging performaces such as this.
Thank you very much for watching and commenting

I just picked up the mad hatter record on vinyl at the Old School Record Shop in Forest park, Illinois. it was great to actually find a record store with devoted music fans working and combing through records. Something we're missing sorely today. "The Cult of the Amateur. How today's internet is killing our culture." by Andrew Keen, addresses how youtube is hijacking our music. Die myspace and die google. die wikipedia! die iTunes!
FellmanBaines 4 years ago
there sure is a difference..
and there are lots of us in the music business who are benefitting greatly from youtube etc. Now the whole world can see, hear and enjoy music they would have to try to find in a sea of records. Thanks for commenting here.

jglaser333 4 years ago
Wow! Chick had a song/Album called Mad Hatter.
So, he had named his studio after it.Cool!
A good sound man is from heaven. They make a
gig ,so stress free while on stage.
magirecords2004 4 years ago
I'm a drummer, so I can't really use all the right terms when it comes to guitar-related stuff. But man do I love your style and sound! Did you get to play some material from the release that followed (Light years), as well? And did Chick ever force you do the robot stance during the intro? You've earned your spot in music history Mr. Glaser! :). P.S. Loved you practicing video as well. Regards, Jonas.

Thank you Jonas!!

It´s a real pleasure to listen to you. I already knew this video, which I downloaded at Emule. Great, man! your sonority is fantastic!
One day, I would love to play with you. Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock are my great heroes, and some of my compositions follows that way.

Let me see if, I had one wish to chose between before I die.
Between playing on stage with Chick Korea, doing Sandra Bullock, or owning a small bank.
Which would I chose ?
How long to I have till before I pick ?
Who's got it better than Jamie !!
He gets to be his lead guitarist in front of a packed audiences, show his chops, gets the girl, and goes to the bank.
It just isn't fair.
