  • Is the steel guitar legit in Cajun music? Doesn't bother me, but it seems close to crossing over to country. Maybe someone who knows more about Cajun music than I do can tell me how often a steel is used.

  • Hell yeah!

  • my mother was born in Bosco

  • many years ago, i asked zachary richard, who he thought was the best cajun accordion player was ..... he said aldus roger!

  • Aldus was the man, then and now

  • RIP Aldus Roger....one of the true all-time greats, and the music of my childhood...mom is 83 now, and in a wheelchair, but this great music can still make her tap her feet....and make us all happy.

  • I like it.

  • This released in the early-mid 60' by Rusty & Doug. This tune is also known as the "Cajun Stripper". (1/4 cajun) It is posted on youtube.

  • omg i love the begining

  • great song!

  • this is footage from the Happy Fats show back in the 70's. filmed at channel 15 in lafayette, louisiana. i personally have backed up aldus several times in a band. fine fellow.

    charles thibodeaux-church point ,la

  • Good drinking music.

  • One of the greatest songs performed by one of the greatest bands. Thanks for posting.

  • who's on bass??? lol

  • Does anyone know if Don Guillory is still around? He does a great job on the drums and singing!

  • Unbelieveable musicianship! Does anyone know the history behind the Bosco Stomp?

  • @kb5urq I don't know the whole history other than Lawrence Walker came up with it. But I don't know if it is totally original to him or he got the tune from somewhere else

  • @kb5urq It was filmed on Channel 15 in Lafayette in 1983.

  • PURE CAJUN,THE REAL DEAL. I WOULD LIKE THIS ON DVD SO I COULD SHARE IT WITH THE LOCAL LIBRARY. THE KIDS THESE DAYS NEED TO SEE THIS :)

  • cool! someone who remembers the Rodair! I used to frequent it at the tail end of its existence... circa 1997ish... and ya I know of Andrew Cormier and omg I am so homesick right now... born in Port Acres and grew up in Groves but used to hang out all summer with my cousins over on 58th St... my Gma used to live on 61st right off of Jade

  • I remember going to the (grand ole )Rodair Club and watching Mr Aldus and his band play...I am wondering if anyone remembers that place and also is there anyone that might have some old Andrew Cormier music...i miss going out there on Saturday nights

  • This is great. Those old boys show how put everything in the music and you don't have to wiggle all over the place in performance. The accordian alone could make it impossible for dancers to keep still, but I love that steel guitar. I just found an old used LP of Aldus in great shape, so I very happy to actually see the man in performance. Merci!!!

  • this is awesome- it's difficult to find good footage of Aldus and the boys- thanks to Drew for sending me this-- so that's Howard Noel Jrs dad on guitar! Bad ass old guys!

  • My Grandpa Played for aldus Roger. My Grandpa Phillip Alleman sang some of his song.

  • Mais c'est parfait!!! Perfect!!!

Wonderful accordion, steel & fiddle solo's & very touching vocals by Don Guillory!

    Rest in peace, Aldus!

  • Aldus is my favorite

  • Anyone know when this footage was shot? Looks like the 70's. Man they're really great. Is Aldus Roger still alive?

  • Not sure what year it's from, but probably late 70's early 80's. Aldus died quite a while back.

  • Unfortunately Aldus left us about 10 years ago...

  • There was a local tv show filmed in Lafayette, Lousiana I think---it seems to be footage from that show probably in '60's or 70's. Alex Broussard is the man introducing the band. Aldus Roger is not alive.

  • @wulfdogcat I just saw your post. The video came from me I sent it to the guy that posted it on youtube. I have the dvd of the tv show he was on .
