@msvanessa562 dont buy this camera. after 6 month of use the screen stopped working. night pictures were extremely noisy. 720p was ok and i notice there was alot of skipping around. dont buy this camera!

doesnt look too colorful. I am sure this camera takes great pictures but i dont think video is it's strong point.

you can see the hd function much better when you take videos of closer objects.

you will be amazed how well some Photocameras can record videos. The fact that it is much smaller than a camcorder makes it very very popular for most people. I think Cameras can take excellent pictures plus good video and camcorder can take excellent videos but only average photos at best.

but as is seen here, this is just as good as a video camera, plus its cheaper, and has a good still captrue, unlike some videocameras.

i have this same camera and the color seems ok when you play it in on the camera but when you upload it to the computer the colors seems to fade out

yep no difference, clicking or watching in HD mode still shows the same problem. I have this camera and it's a waste. Jerkiness in any movie mode above vga, plus look at the colors there as dull as chalk

I bought the DSC-W290 and am very disappointed with it. I upgraded from a DSC-W55. The DSC-W290 makes very choppy or jerky video, in any of the 3 recording modes. Watch this video closely too, at the cars etc moving, jerky at times. The old DSC-W55 videos were as smooth as a babies skin.

The colours look flat to me.. might just be the settings. Also, the contrast is a bit poor. I'm probably judging it harshly though as I use a Canon 450D

With the Sony T-900 you can zoom in while you are on video. Something this one can't do.

its not that its not allowed..its not able technicaly..the camera hasnt got any autofocus during filming.

its a AWESOME camera/ stablizer works great, recording is unlimited. but it can not zoom when recording.

Are you sure that video recording is "unlimited" ?? I read on many online reviews that video recording is limited to sessions of maximum 29 minutes of continuos footage. Can you confirm?

Im sad and angry, today i saw HD video from T500, wonderful colors, it was sharp and that camera CAN zoom when makes the video and its old model. Why W290 not?:(

when recording video, you can not zoom unfortunately. you can zoom in and out before hitting the record button. 720p video looks really good compared to flip minohd. you get better lens(carl zeiss) in w290
