If Shepard dies in ME2 you have to remember that it is apparently possible to bring him back to life since he was brought back at the back in the beginning of ME2. Now the Illusive man knows where the Collector Base is and he knows where Shepard's body is if you didn't choose to destroy it. If you did choose to destroy the base and you died then yeah there probably won't be a continuation or you may end up playing as a new, younger, character who looked up to Shepard.
The interviews will probably play a role in how hard it may be to get people to join you. For example if you made it seem like all you care about it humanity then the council will not want to listen to you again, and if you made it seem like you are all about the Council then the Alliance won't trust you. That may effect who you may get to recruit if you can't recruit everyone, so someone like Ashley or Captain Anderson will not be playable or will not want to join you.

I totally agree that the over-arching plot of ME3 is recruiting an army against the reapers. So many subplots - return of rachni, Genophage, Quarian fleet, Shepard's conflicting allegience to cerebrus, human alliance and spectre, Mordin finding a cure for Joker.... too many side plots. No pt guess, just hope Bioware will tie off all the important once at the end of ME3.

I think it would really cool to visit Earth in ME3, just too see the state it's in. It would be nice to visit some alien homeworlds as well. I'm thinking we haven't seen the last of the illusive man and I'm predicting there will be some revelations with regards to his modified eyes. I'm predicting that some legacy of the protheans (some kind of technology) will allow the galaxy to defeat the reapers. The protheans did get lots of research on reapers done on Ilos.
if the humans/turians/salarians/asari do somehow win then please make it logical!!!!, and finaly....having the entire galxy open not like just the terminus systems in me2 or the friendlyish sytems in me1 so we can go back to the places in the other 2 games, oh and rachni fleets saving the day!!!!!!!!! :D
if u died in me2 then joker is main charectar, return of old charectars, epic space ownage that happens to be a level and not a cutscene, realtimeish space flight(u get to fly around in lightspeed instead of lookin at a tiny map), one ending being the species i the galaxy lose,
i really would like to see the quarians face in ME3, but the problem is that 1/2 the players will like it and 1/2 the players wont. I think it would be safer to keep them shielded, but if they can find a good one i think itd be really cool to see their face.
I think Mass Effect 3 is going to end with the council betraying you again and you have to find a way to sneak away and kill the remaining reapers

@cs100295 they have already said that if u die at the end of ME2 then u cant continue with that character and have to make a new character.
