It lacks a bit of vivacity, it is quite monotonous especially when the right-hand is playing over the walking bass int he left-hand.

Aww, this brings back memories from the sixth grade. In the flute choir (basically the best of the flutes form a group and practice during study hall four times a week for performances; my favourite performance was at Mall of America in which was during the Holidays. Also, we played this song.), yes, so we performed this song and aww, it just brings back good ol' memories. :}
