My Top 10 10)Evander Holyfield 9)Ken Norton 8)James Toney 7)Lennox Lewis 6)Sonny Liston 5) Joe Frazier 4) George Foreman 3) Larry Holmes 2) Mike Tayson 1) Muhammed Ali
@DNemedon - James Toney? Better than Johnson, Dempsey, Tunney, Louis, Marciano, Jeffries? Whos your greatest middleweight? Let me guess.... Bernard( my shoulder hurts) Hopkins?
@1899sharkey If you remember James Tony have destroyed Evandera Holifilda. James Tony very clever boxer. It was not possible to whom to send James Tony in a knockout Yet.
@1899sharkey Marchiano is a little cheerful.Tony much more hard it. Marciano couldn't win James Tony. And in general Boxers of those times weren't so clever. They went directly and boxed. James Tony of any of them would deceive and has beaten as children.
@DNemedon I wouldn't be so sure about that. There is a reason why Bernard and Mayweather throwbacks. The techniques that Roger and Floyd sr. taught PBF come from the old school and you see many of them with simular styles. Charley Burley, Willie Pep, Jersey Joe Walcott, Joe Louis, Sugar Ray Robinson, Kid Chocolate, Archie Moore, Original Joe Walcott, and many more. All of them intelligent fighters. Where do you think Toney got his style from. Watch Jersy Joe Walcott and Charley Burley.
@WingnutDishwasher Youngest heavyweight champion, fastest hands for a boxer his size and probaly the best defense ever, in his prime. 15TH??! so name 14 heavyweight boxers that are greater than mike.
@lDeviilzMercyy Yeah he was pretty small for a heavyweight. He fought light heavy for some of his career. By today's standard's he probably wouldn't fight in the heavyweight division.
@bartonmcgill Lennox Lewis wouldn't be second, Tyson would beat him in his prime, and joe louis, but it's not based on who would beat who it overall things including record and fame, i think tyson would beat louis but louis would come before because he was more successful, it's not just who would beat who
@revelation6415 Tyson in his prime? He was actually younger than lewis. Lewis in my opinion is very underrated. They all avoided him until they couldn`t avoid him any longer. With the acception of Ray Mercer. Mercer feared nobody
@bartonmcgill I doesn't matter who was younger, when they fought tyson was way past his brilliant punching power and was slow, prime v prime, it might go full rounds but Tyson would pull it out
@shalva098 yeah tyson should be 4th above holyfield, that was such a big mistake, if you ask someone who is better tyson or holyfield tyson is better and more succesful and would beat him in his prime and has a better record, how could holyfield come before tyson!?
wladimir klitschko in the top 20 of all time?.....lol. vitali shouldnt even be in the top 20 and he's 10 times the champion wlad is. wlad would be lucky to make the top 50!
You could be right, but I believe that Tysons flaws would of surfaced at any time of his career against any great heavy. Tysons downfall came about when he finally fought a fighter who was unafraid, had a great jab, and made it a test of wills. This garbage about Kevin Rooney makes me laugh. People think Rooneys words( throw punches with bad intentions) made Tyson some kind of superhuman.

That's a pretty interesting list - a lot there to agree and disagree with. Still thanks for introducing me to a few boxers I didn't know about - it was particularly good to read about Jack Johnson and the racism he had to overcome to become the first black heavyweight champion.
I've always thought that Ali was number 1!!! I love Rocky and Louis but im pretty sure they can't beat Ali...! He was right! He was and still is...THE GREATEST OF ALL TIME!!!
13.45 liston had incredible reach for a 6'1 guy!! tyson wouldnt leave the ring alive against a prime liston(58-62) but tyson and rooney probably would never agree to fight killers like liston, foreman, shavers or even a prime tua.d'amato was always overprotective over his fighters
Who was the best fighter Tyson ever beat? an ancient Holmes? A frozen old Spinks? Did this man with godlike power k.o. Tillis, Green, Smith? Was he dominated by a clubfighterand brutally k.o.d at 23? Could he even go the distance with an old Holyfield? Did he ever come off the floor to win? Did he destroy a lot of b- level fighters? Tyson would have failed miserably against any atg heavy.
@1899sharkey You raise a very good point. No doubt due to his entertaining style Tyson was overrated a bit, but I don't doubt that if the stayed on track his entire career he would be up there with the legends of the heavyweight division.
@1899sharkey Tyson is underrated he was great and destoryed the best in his prime but once he got to 30 and couldn't punch as fast or as hard he went down hill because he couldn't change his style, ali could change his style when he no longer could dance so great, thats what makes him the greatest, holmes vs tyson prime maybe holmes would pull it off but tyson would beat spinks, tyson is still great and in some ways unnderatted
@bartonmcgill - An ancient Foreman 20 years past his prime went the distance with a prime Holyfield. Tyson couldn't even manage to hear the final bell against a past his best Holy. 'Iron Mike" had more than a little tin mixed in with that iron. This guy would of folded up like a cheap tent against any great heavy.
Brilliant list, its good to see Larry Holmes finally get the recognition he deserves, and also good to see my main man is number 1, the greatest of all time! RUMBLE YOUNG MAN RUMBLE
youv got the top/best 1-6 spot-on,i totaly agree with your top-6! from 7-12 is debatable though! you got the top-6 right though in my oppinion as a lifelong boxing fan.
I would rate Holyfield way above Tyson...he beat him both times they fought. I would rate Gene Tunney above Jack Tunney also...I'm glad to see that Holmes got his long over due respect...
@smokinlefthook Holyfield was pretty good at the time, he was just a couple of years removed from perhaps his best ever performance in beating Tyson. Tyson was past it when he fought Lewis, but he was still very dangerous, and he hadn't legitimately lost a fight since '96.. Lennox Lewis = olympic gold medallist, one of only 3 heavyweight champions to beat every man he faced, and he fought all the best of his era apart from those (e.g. Bowe) who didn't want to face him
If Ali didnt stop fighting in 1967 he would have more defenses of the HW championship the joe louis, i think he is the greatest and Joe Louis is the second
@breakdancerQ Not at all. Third best of all time. Second best heavyweight IMO. Joe Louis should absolutely be number one. Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest of all time, but he wasn't a heavyweight.
@WingnutDishwasher Well for me personal I'm leaning more to Ali. The g.o.a.t. ranks are more based your own opinion. But I wouldn't mind with Louis as number one ofcouse.
@WingnutDishwasher Where?I know Robinson was his idol and his greatest but I've never heard him saying that Louis was better than him. I have seen him say twice that he would outbox Louis. There's even a whole video where Ali is explaining why Joe Louis could never catch him, according to Ali. But even if he said that, that's his opinion and but my opinion he's the greatest of all time. That's just my personal opinion and nothing changes that.
@WingnutDishwasher Show me where. Because Ali also had video with d'amato where he just totaly critize Joe Louis's style and explains why he would win, according him. And because of that its hard to believe that Ali said that Louis was the greatest for him. If I'm not mistaken,Ali also said he could've been able to knock Louis out in some talkshow.
@breakdancerQ I don't know where he said it, just search the quote on Google or something. There's all kinds of sources that credit that quote to Ali.
@WingnutDishwasher - Ali always badmouthed Joe when Ali was fighting. Upon Joes' death, i do remember Ali calling him the greatest.Personally I believe a prime Joe would handle Ali.
@WingnutDishwasher I cant find the quote but Im sure most things that Ali said about Louis's boxing was negative. I did find the quote"I am the astronaut of boxing. Joe Louis and Dempsey were just jet pilots. I'm in a world of my own."
This video could only be improved by syncing the type of music to certain fighter! The happy music with the happy fighters... the heroic music with the heroic fighters... the rhythmic music with the rhythmic fighters et cetera!
Most people? Can you give me the name of an expert who has him in their top 5, I cant find one. Headbuts have long been a part of fighting, when Tyson started eating Holy it was to get immediately D.Q.d. Mills Lane gave him one free bite and told him if you continue eating him you'll lose. Not enough intestinal fortitude to hang with the greats.
@1899sharkey A part of fighting yes, a dirty part. Tyson had bad luck to fight with this two great guys in a decadent part of his life. The 2 Tyson Holyfield and the Tyson Lewis ruins his career.
@zimbreator - Yep, losing to guys is a good way to ruin your career. Tyson was good but too many flaws to beat the very best. Btw, I do believe that Herbert Goldman had him ranked 4th.
How can Tyson be ranked ahead of Holyfield when Holyfield has the far better career? Holyfield was the undisputed HW champ and a 2 time linear champ and an Olympic medalist!
Tyson was the Undisputed champ and only a one time linear champ. Tyson was great for only like 5 years and he lost too many of his legacy fights.
@muclesmarinara Its simple. Because they, in their prime , had a big quality difference. Tyson was absolutely invincible for 5 years even with good fighters. Holyfield couldnt never aspire to something like that.
@zimbreator Except for beating a bum who Tyson lost to by KO. And then Holyfield did better than Tyson against Lewis and has a win over Riddick Bowe and has a win over George Foreman. Tyson was great for 5 years and then mediocre. Holyfield has been good for way longer. Holyfield now at age 49 would Kill a 35 year old Tyson.
@zimbreator - If Holyfield and Tyson fought 10 times prime v prime, Holyfield would win all 10 times. Neither one is a top tenner. Any great heavy throughout history would have beat Tyson who is the most overated heavy in history. Tyson had the "quit" in him and couldn't stand with the great heavys.
@1899sharkey Maybe with his headbutts could win, like he did in the 1996 and 1997. Before the ear bite, Tyson was receiving continually headbutts; holyfield deserve the bite. A prime Tyson vs a prime Holyfield? no doubt Tyson, and the same thing against Lennox Lewis. Tyson is a top 5. And most people knows that.
@aahabhbhhj That's not exactly true. Joe Louis would get his ass beaten by Big George as would most fighters but Joe Louis was HW champ for 11 years! Are you saying all of his fights were fake? Joe Louis was an Icon and an incredible fighter.
Tyson is not even a top ten heavyweight. You obviously don't know anything. Foreman and Holyfield both have more impressive resume's than Tyson so where are they ranked?
mike tyson in his prime age 20-24 would have ripped anybody apart inside six rounds....period.....ali is over rated im sorry ... just look at his condition ... how could the goat be a guy who has parkinsons from getting hit so much...hes over rated due to the fact he was controversial
@readytorockithard23 Mike Tyson would have ripped anybody apart? And you say Ali is overrated... Ali never ducked anyone, went up against some of the greats and WON. He got hit (not as much as you seem to claim, his head movement was very good actually), but did he go down? Not many times at all, he had a great chin, and even if he did go down, he got back up as fast as he could, and that's what a real champion is, god bless Ali.
@xXDeadlyEyeXx People seem to get stuck into the hora of Mike Tyson he should be 6 on this list but Ali did fight the best, biggest difference between Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali was the mental aspect Tyson never overcame adversity or beat the greatest at his time after coming out of prison, if he would have beat Evander and Lennox, Bowe, never lost to Buster Douglas then somebody could make the argument he was the best but he never did.
this is the best lineup I have ever seen. You are right on the money here my friend

how the fuck is joe louis under ali?
bobdole135 2 months ago
@bobdole135 Muhammad Ali is the greatest of all time unfortunetely
breakdancerQ 2 months ago
@breakdancerQ Not at all. Third best of all time. Second best heavyweight IMO. Joe Louis should absolutely be number one. Sugar Ray Robinson is the greatest of all time, but he wasn't a heavyweight.
WingnutDishwasher 1 month ago
@WingnutDishwasher Well for me personal I'm leaning more to Ali. The g.o.a.t. ranks are more based your own opinion. But I wouldn't mind with Louis as number one ofcouse.
breakdancerQ 1 month ago
@breakdancerQ Ali himself said Louis and Robinson were better than him.
WingnutDishwasher 1 month ago
@WingnutDishwasher Where?I know Robinson was his idol and his greatest but I've never heard him saying that Louis was better than him. I have seen him say twice that he would outbox Louis. There's even a whole video where Ali is explaining why Joe Louis could never catch him, according to Ali. But even if he said that, that's his opinion and but my opinion he's the greatest of all time. That's just my personal opinion and nothing changes that.
breakdancerQ 1 month ago
@breakdancerQ "Joe Louis was my inspiration. I idolize him. I just give lip service to being the greatest. He was the greatest." - Muhammad Ali
WingnutDishwasher 1 month ago
@WingnutDishwasher Show me where. Because Ali also had video with d'amato where he just totaly critize Joe Louis's style and explains why he would win, according him. And because of that its hard to believe that Ali said that Louis was the greatest for him. If I'm not mistaken,Ali also said he could've been able to knock Louis out in some talkshow.
breakdancerQ 1 month ago
@breakdancerQ I don't know where he said it, just search the quote on Google or something. There's all kinds of sources that credit that quote to Ali.
WingnutDishwasher 1 month ago
@WingnutDishwasher - Ali always badmouthed Joe when Ali was fighting. Upon Joes' death, i do remember Ali calling him the greatest.Personally I believe a prime Joe would handle Ali.

@WingnutDishwasher I cant find the quote but Im sure most things that Ali said about Louis's boxing was negative. I did find the quote"I am the astronaut of boxing. Joe Louis and Dempsey were just jet pilots. I'm in a world of my own."

Gooseman2k2 2 months ago
Most people? Can you give me the name of an expert who has him in their top 5, I cant find one. Headbuts have long been a part of fighting, when Tyson started eating Holy it was to get immediately D.Q.d. Mills Lane gave him one free bite and told him if you continue eating him you'll lose. Not enough intestinal fortitude to hang with the greats.
1899sharkey 2 months ago
@1899sharkey A part of fighting yes, a dirty part. Tyson had bad luck to fight with this two great guys in a decadent part of his life. The 2 Tyson Holyfield and the Tyson Lewis ruins his career.
zimbreator 2 months ago
@zimbreator - Yep, losing to guys is a good way to ruin your career. Tyson was good but too many flaws to beat the very best. Btw, I do believe that Herbert Goldman had him ranked 4th.
1899sharkey 2 months ago
How can Tyson be ranked ahead of Holyfield when Holyfield has the far better career? Holyfield was the undisputed HW champ and a 2 time linear champ and an Olympic medalist!
Tyson was the Undisputed champ and only a one time linear champ. Tyson was great for only like 5 years and he lost too many of his legacy fights.
muclesmarinara 2 months ago
@muclesmarinara Its simple. Because they, in their prime , had a big quality difference. Tyson was absolutely invincible for 5 years even with good fighters. Holyfield couldnt never aspire to something like that.
zimbreator 2 months ago
@zimbreator Except for beating a bum who Tyson lost to by KO. And then Holyfield did better than Tyson against Lewis and has a win over Riddick Bowe and has a win over George Foreman. Tyson was great for 5 years and then mediocre. Holyfield has been good for way longer. Holyfield now at age 49 would Kill a 35 year old Tyson.
muclesmarinara 2 months ago
@muclesmarinara Tyson, 23 years, just invincible.
zimbreator 2 months ago 2
@zimbreator - If Holyfield and Tyson fought 10 times prime v prime, Holyfield would win all 10 times. Neither one is a top tenner. Any great heavy throughout history would have beat Tyson who is the most overated heavy in history. Tyson had the "quit" in him and couldn't stand with the great heavys.
1899sharkey 2 months ago
@1899sharkey Maybe with his headbutts could win, like he did in the 1996 and 1997. Before the ear bite, Tyson was receiving continually headbutts; holyfield deserve the bite. A prime Tyson vs a prime Holyfield? no doubt Tyson, and the same thing against Lennox Lewis. Tyson is a top 5. And most people knows that.
zimbreator 2 months ago 2
@zimbreator Damn straight . I second that completely .
thehitchrules 1 month ago
@aahabhbhhj That's not exactly true. Joe Louis would get his ass beaten by Big George as would most fighters but Joe Louis was HW champ for 11 years! Are you saying all of his fights were fake? Joe Louis was an Icon and an incredible fighter.

1. Joe Louis
2. Ali
3. Sugar Ray Robinson
4.Mike Tyson
5. Marvin Hagler
Period NO questions asked

@GrisGrisOnUrDoorStep Too bad that Ray Robinson and Hagler weren't heavyweights.
Tyson is not even a top ten heavyweight. You obviously don't know anything. Foreman and Holyfield both have more impressive resume's than Tyson so where are they ranked?

@muclesmarinara I wasnt talking heavyweights just my personal favorites Im a big fan of Foreman though

mike tyson in his prime age 20-24 would have ripped anybody apart inside six rounds....period.....ali is over rated im sorry ... just look at his condition ... how could the goat be a guy who has parkinsons from getting hit so much...hes over rated due to the fact he was controversial
readytorockithard23 2 months ago
@readytorockithard23 Mike Tyson would have ripped anybody apart? And you say Ali is overrated... Ali never ducked anyone, went up against some of the greats and WON. He got hit (not as much as you seem to claim, his head movement was very good actually), but did he go down? Not many times at all, he had a great chin, and even if he did go down, he got back up as fast as he could, and that's what a real champion is, god bless Ali.
xXDeadlyEyeXx 2 months ago in playlist Uploaded videos
@xXDeadlyEyeXx People seem to get stuck into the hora of Mike Tyson he should be 6 on this list but Ali did fight the best, biggest difference between Mike Tyson and Muhammad Ali was the mental aspect Tyson never overcame adversity or beat the greatest at his time after coming out of prison, if he would have beat Evander and Lennox, Bowe, never lost to Buster Douglas then somebody could make the argument he was the best but he never did.
