I wish there were more Sandra Dee's in this world. pure all american wholesome women.. someone you can take home to your parents and be real proud you have a gem by your side, but now were stuck with the paris hiltons, lindsay lohans, Kardashians, and snookies of the world.. how times have changed for the worst..ugh

This was a really cute movie and I think Sandra Dee did an excellent job in it. But her career didn't really last, did it? Anybody know what happened to her?

@stitchesful Her last movie was in 1983 and she died from kidney disease 6 years ago at the age of 62.

@stitchesful Sandra Dee didn't act very much after the early 70s because she had a lot of illnesses by then. She had anorexia since she was young, and also had depression and alcoholism and was reportedly a victim of abuse as a child. You can kind of see in the swimsuit scenes in this movie, she is abnormally thin especially by 50s standards (the other girls would be considered fat today but at the time their figures were considered beautiful).

Sandra Dee is dead. She was 64 when she died in 2005
